Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of waterwheel media on student learning outcomes in science learning for Grade IV of SDIT Lukmanul Hakim, Gorontalo Regency. The type of research conducted by the researcher is quantitative experimental research. The population in this study were all 26 students of grade IV of SDIT Lukmanul Hakim. Based on the results of research conducted on grade IV students of SDIT Lukmanul Hakim using the One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The results of statistical analysis through the Wilcoxon test showed an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value <0.05, so empirically it can be ascertained that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the use of waterwheel media. These findings indicate that the use of waterwheel media has a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes, because this media is able to provide concrete learning experiences, facilitate understanding of concepts, and increase student active involvement during learning. Thus, all research results as a whole answer the problem formulation that the use of waterwheel media does have an effect on improving student learning outcomes in science learning on the material of changes in energy forms.

Abstract

Fine motor skills in early childhood often do not develop optimally due to the limited use of concrete, engaging, and interactive learning media in classroom activities. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Play Book media in improving fine motor skills and children’s independence at TK Negeri Pembina Gorontalo City. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model conducted in two cycles involving 14 children aged 4–5 years. Data were collected through observation and documentation and analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s fine motor abilities and independence, increasing from 30% in the pre-cycle stage to 63.75% in Cycle I and reaching 92.32% in Cycle II. The improvement occurred through structured and repetitive activities in the Play Book that stimulated hand–eye coordination, concentration, accuracy, and independent learning behavior. The novelty of this study lies in integrating visual-interactive media with a drill-based learning approach to strengthen fine motor development. Practically, the media effectively supports early childhood learning while fostering discipline, responsibility, and independence as part of Islamic character education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan soal berbasis HOTS. Soal yang dikembangkan berupa soal-soal formatif dari kegiatan belajar pada modul pedagogik pendalaman materi yang disusun oleh dosen/instruktur/pengajar PPG Dalam Jabatan Kementerian Agama RI di LPTK IAIN Gorontalo. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian dan pengembangan Research and Development dengan model pengembangan tipe formative research yaitu: 1) tahap analyse, 2) tahap design, 3) tahap develop, 4) tahap formatively evaluate, dan 5) tahap summatevely evaluate. Teknik analisis data secara kuantitatif untuk menganalisis kecocokan model atau model fit dan penilaian terhadap karakteristik butir soal yang dikembangkan butir menggunakan Program BILOG. Untuk validitas isi ditelaah pakar dengan menggunakan formula Gregory. Hasil temuan diperoleh bahwa item soal tes berbasis HOTS untuk modul pedagogik dikembangkan dari dimensi proses menganalisis (C4), mengevaluasi (C5), dan mencipta (C6) memiliki kriteria valid, memiliki indeks tingkat kesukaran sedang dan indeks daya beda yang baik. Sehingga telah memenuhi semua kriteria pengembangan instrumen soal yang baik. Artinya soal ini dapat digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman mahasiswa PPG pada pendalaman materi modul pedagogik.
