Abstract

This article discusses how to apply principles of cooperation and principles of politeness in communication between sellers and buyers in online business. The research object is specialized in online business through the marketplace and more specifically on product reviews. Marketplace is a platform or online system that mediates transactions between sellers and buyers. Marketplace has the tools of communicating between seller and buyer consisting of product description page, product discussion page, product review page, and personal message page. Of the four communication facilities are only product description pages, product discussion pages and product reviews pages that can be accessed by the public. Private message pages can only be accessed by the account owner who is communicating with other account owners. Product reviews are an important facility as most potential buyers see product reviews before buying. Product descriptions and product discussions are also important to note, but more product reviews show evidence of the quality of product and services. The reality is that not all marketplace users look at the pragmatic principles of communicating in product reviews. Specializing in product reviews is also based on frequent conflicts in product reviews between the seller and the buyer at this communication facility. The sample of this research is Tokopedia marketplace. Samples are selected because that marketplace is one of the largest online business media in Indonesia.

Abstract

Ecological factors, the close relationship between fishing communities and the sea (nature) has given rise to various types of marine knowledge in such a way, which is used as an adaptive function in "conquering and navigating the sea" as an effort to maintain the stability of the family's survival. A local knowledge system that has delivered a sociocultural pattern of fishing communities has distinctive cultural values, which are different from the various surrounding communities. The register of fishermen's marine knowledge is a variation of language based on the function of use and the context of its use that reflects social processes, and contains different meanings with the types of meanings in lexical dan grammatical. This study aims to describe the shape and meaning of registers of marine knowledge of Madurese fishermen using anthropolinguistic studies. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Research data in the form of terms and meanings on their cultural functions in marine registers. Efforts to extract data were carried out by participant observation methods and in-depth interviews, supplemented by written notes and recording aids in the form of a cellphone recorder. Data were analyzed using interactive data analysis (reduction, presentation, and withdrawal / verification of data) and interpretive methods oriented to the point of view of the community under study. In its realization, the terms in the register are searched for their lexical meanings using the referential equivalent method, which matches the lexicon meaning in the MaduraIndonesian dictionary. Next the cultural significance is determined based on the sociocultural function of the fishermen's interpretation The fishery knowledge register can be classified into four subsystems, including; register of fishermen's marine knowledge relating to; (1) current conditions; (2) weather / climate conditions; (3) conditions of the fishing area (fishing ground) and signs of fish presence; and (4) the techniques and fishing tools used.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the trend of products using religious commodities filled the economic market, which used "halal" diction. This study aims to answer several questions. Firstly how is the halal commodification process produced related to Wardah products? Second, how is the halal commodification process produced related to Wardah advertisements? The last is about the halal commodification process in which discourse and a "power" battle space occur. Systematization reproduced the specific knowledge. In contrast, variants are presented in specific ways. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection activities were carried out using the listening method and recording techniques to transcribe the data obtained. The data analysis process is carried out using the discourse theory proposed by Michel Foucault, using the genealogical method. The study results indicate that in the process of producing halal commodification related to halal products, all discourses that move in the Wardah production area are opposed to everything outside of Wardah. Besides, the openness of the power system process shows that these relations do not always dominate each other but instead play a role in strengthening the power of the halal products produced by Wardah. The results showed that when halal advertisements produced by Wardah were distributed to consumers (the public), they experienced several responses. Some people support halal advertisements, people reject halal advertisements, and neutral society towards halal advertising. This community response becomes data that is processed, selected, and sorted for reconstruction, intending to strengthen further the existence of Wardah formed by halal advertising. The relationship between Wardah, which produces the halal advertisements with other subjects outside, is interpreted as a space for the process of power to take place.

Abstract

The film "Ali & the Queens" is an example of a family-themed movie. This film has an intriguing storyline as it utilizes dramatic elements to emphasize the message of family bonds. The relationship between Ali and the Queens is predominantly focused on conveying the message of kinship. Ali and the Queens are a family without any blood ties. Their relationship initially starts from a mutually beneficial arrangement. Moreover, their familiarity grows as they are fellow immigrants from the same country. The sense of family between Ali and the Queens develops while living in the same apartment, fostering closeness and care for each other. The purpose of this study is to explore how the dramatic elements in the film "Ali & the Queens" contribute to conveying the message of family. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques involve observation, documentation, and literature review. The results of the study indicate that there are ten scenes supported by dramatic elements in conveying the message of family. Three scenes are supported by conflict, three scenes by suspense, two scenes by curiosity, and two scenes by surprise.
