Abstract

Electric  container  cranes  that  exist  today  still  have  shortcomings  in  the safety hoist lifting system. Safety is less reliable resulting in the accident when the lifting hoist process runs, the case that often happens is the fall of containers during the appointment process. The other problem, safety hoist lifting system can not be monitored by computer in the spreader system. This  study  improves  the  existing  safety hoist  lifting  system deficiencies by designing  and  constructing  the  electric  container  crane  model  which  safe  and efficient using the Programmable Logic Controller Omron CP1E-E20DR-A    as a safety system  and  Visual  Basic as  Human Machine  Interface  (HMI).  PLC  was chosen in  this  study  because it  is  flexible  in  programming.  HMI  program  using Visual Basic and Arduino Uno R3 was chosen because it is cheaper. The use of PLC  in  safety hoist  lifting  system  is very  effective because  the reversible counter and timer programs can replace the functions of cam switches and overspeed switches that are less effective. The addition of HMI proved to be easier in the monitoring system. Safety hoist lifting system in electric container crane safe and efficient can be  built with PLC  and Visual Basic with a  lower  cost  has  been  able  to  provide convenience in the monitoring system. Keywords: container crane, safety, hoist lifting, interlock

Abstract

The Indonesian region, which has a tropical climate and has a wide sea, is one of the factors that make the population a fisherman. Fishermen from Pasuruan Regency, especially Lekok Village, are one of the producers of high quality marine products so that production reaches foreign exports. This study aims to develop the productivity of marine products in Lekok District, Pasuruan Regency which is constrained by the process of drying fish. Using research methods of literature and empirical studies, an automatic fish drying machine is designed by utilizing a hot air blower which is controlled by a thermistor and accompanied by a rotating system so that the results resemble manual drying using solar radiation. From the results of data analysis and system testing, it shows that the quality of fish that is dried with a rotary system is more effective than drying machines in general, such as the rack type because the results of drying fish are more even. The test results for the drying process require a temperature setting of 45-50 degrees within 220 minutes to reach a moisture content of 0.38% with a drying machine capacity of 32.5 kilograms.

Abstract

Abstract - The rooftop of the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya Integrated Laboratory building which has an area of 210 m2 can be used as a solar power plant (PLTS). Installing PLTS in buildings has several advantages, namely as a long-term energy investment and easy to integrate with the grid electrical system. PLTS is designed to save electricity consumption. In addition, if PLTS is connected to a battery, it can meet some of the energy needs at night. To design a PLTS installation in the Integrated Laboratory building, this research uses technical and economic analysis methods. Technical analysis is carried out to determine the capacity and number of PV mini-grid components required for installation. While the economic analysis aims to calculate the investment costs and the length of time for the return on investment compared to buildings without PV mini-grid installations. Based on this research, the results show that the amount of energy required for the Integrated Laboratory building is 482.148 kWh, while the planned PLTS is able to provide energy of 216,128 kWh. The PLTS design requires an initial investment of Rp. 927,700,894,-. So by using the Payback Period (PP) method, it can be concluded that the planned design is feasible, because the comparison of the cost of return on investment is 9.13 years faster than the project age that has been determined previously, which is 20 years.

Abstract

Objective: This study explores the meaning of success in old age as perceived by millennial workers at PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Taman through a phenomenological approach. The research examines their experiences, perspectives, and challenges in preparing for retirement. Method: The study employs a phenomenological approach to understand how millennial workers define and prepare for success in old age. Results: Key findings reveal that millennial workers define success in old age as a combination of good health, financial stability, and family happiness. The study highlights the importance of meticulous planning in areas such as financial management, skill development, and work-life balance. Spiritual values also emerged as critical components in shaping perceptions of future success. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in its focus on the interplay between personal, professional, and spiritual dimensions in constructing the meaning of successful aging among millennial workers. Insights from this research provide valuable recommendations for organizations to design development programs supporting employees' long-term well-being.

Abstract

The development of MSMEs in coastal communities needs to be fostered and developed so that they can contribute to the economy of the family and the country. MSMEs productivity is an indicator that determines how efficiently MSMEs can run their business. This study aims to analyze the effect of training and work motivation on the productivity of MSMEs in coastal communities. This research method uses a quantitative method, where the population is MSMEs in the Bulak District area of Surabaya, based on the sample criteria the number of samples used in this study were 90 MSME actors. Incoming and appropriate data is processed and analyzed using SEM PLS. This study found that training and work motivation had a significant effect on increasing the productivity of MSMEs in coastal communities and work motivation mediated the effect of training on the productivity of MSMEs in coastal communities. To increase the productivity of MSMEs in coastal communities, they need to be equipped with knowledge and skills through training. The training program must be in accordance with the characteristics of MSMEs in coastal communities, so that the results of the training will motivate MSMEs in coastal communities to become independent, professional and competitive entrepreneurs.
