Abstract

The COVID-19 virus in Indonesia has infected more than 1,600 people, and has caused around two hundreds of deaths in Indonesia and is predicted to continue to grow. The panic that has arisen is the alleged lack of socialization and education in the community. Students who have been equipped with an understanding and logical way of thinking, are felt to be present to contribute ideas to community groups in the form of socialization and training in making natural handsanitizers. The purpose of this activity is to provide training to the youth of the GKPS church Jl. Jend Sudirman Pematangsiantar on how to make a natural handsanitizer which will then be distributed to the congregation. The members of the church youth who participated in thistraining were quite enthusiastic. Thisindicatesthe desire to increase youth's selfability to improve performance as well as self-competence for entrepreneurship. Theresults of the training in products will be distributed to the congregation. In additionto these objectives, this activity is expected to generate sensitivity and desire to dobusiness among young people, and show the existence of Simalungun University students in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Economic losses due to wood damage by wood destruction factors in buildings in Indonesia have reached billions of rupiah every year. Surveys in several major cities, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and other major cities show that generally residential buildings are particularly vulnerable to being attacked by wood-destroying organisms. To prevent or reduce economic losses due to wood damage by wood destruction factors in buildings especially housing, it is necessary to take a preventive measure that is a preservation measure by providing preservatives, especially on wood materials as well as handling to overcome wood components that have been damaged.

Abstract

Kegiatan penyuluhan hukum dan penanaman pohon untuk konservasi Pantai Mangrove Desa Sei Nagalawan Perbangungan Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai ini diharapkan dapat menjadi agen pembangunan guna “menularkan” pengetahuan tentang peranan masyarakat dalam rangka pelestarian lingkungan serta arti penting lingkungan hidup bagi kehidupan manusia. Pencegahan terhadap pengrusakan lingkungan tidak hanya cukup dengan dilakukan menerapkan undang - undang termasuk penerapan sanksi pidana oleh karena masyarakat tersebut secara kultural telah terikat dengan pola-pola pemanfaatan hutan yang sejak lama mereka lakukan dan berlangsung secara turun temurun. Peserta sosialisasi memiliki peranan dalam rangka pelestarian lingkungan serta arti penting lingkungan hidup bagi kehidupan manusia

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase understanding of the importance of preserving the environment and forest resources, as well as creating alternative economic opportunities for residents of Bahoan Hamlet, Nagori Dolok Marawa, Silou Kahean District, Simalungun Regency. The method used is observation socialization and ecoprint exploration. The results achieved in this service activity are the creation of community understanding about the importance of forest natural resources for the lives of surrounding communities and how to preserve them and improve skills by using natural dyes.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan jasa lingkungan adalah pemanfaatan potensi hutan lindung dengan tidak merusak lingkungan seperti ekowisata, wisata olah raga tantangan, pemanfaatan air dan perdagangan karbon. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk melakukan edukasi kepada kelompok agar dapat mengelola kawasan yang telah diberikan selama 35 tahun dalam rangka peningkatan pendapatan anggota kelompok. Diharapkan KTH Gorbus Nauli memiliki pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang pengelolaan kawasan sesuai dengan fungsinya. Literasi pengelolaan hutan bersama rakyat melalui hutan kemasyarakat serta melakukan terobosan dengan lembaga-lembaga pemangku kepentingan untuk tujuan kelompok. Untuk mengatasi persoalan yang dihadapi Kelompok Tani Hutan Gorbus Nauli Nagori Sait Buttu Saribu Kecamatan Pamatang Sidamanik Kabupaten Simalungun, maka tim menawarkan beberapa metode pemecahan masalah melalui pendampingan dan diskusi bersama serta studi dengan kelompok-kelompok KTH yang telah memiliki peringkat Mandiri. Pengembangan ekowisata akan berhasil jika seluruh pihak terkait berpedoman pada tiga hal yaitu : area alami harus sesedikit mungkin mengalami sentuhan pembangunan, sebaliknya perlu dikembangkan sesuatu yang alami dan khas daerah setempat; adanya areal wisata yang sudah berkembang tidak boleh mengesampingkan kegiatan konservasi lingkungan yang harus selalu dilakukan untuk menjaga kelestarian hutan lindung; penduduk lokal atau dalam hal ini anggota kelompok tani HKm - HL harus menjadi penerima pertama manfaat dari kegiatan wisata yang dikembangkan

Abstract

One of the wealth that Indonesia has is the wealth of tourist attractions. And the majority are nature-themed attractions. Kawah Putih Tinggi Raja, is one of the nature-themed tourist attractions that is hundreds of years old, located in the area of Dolok Tinggi Raja Nature Reserve Bahoan Nagori Dolok Marawa Village, Silau Kahean District, Simalungun Regency. In order to find out the natural tourism potential of the Tinggi Raja area, it is necessary to carry out practical assessment activities for the Tinggi Raja natural tourism area. In the discussion with the Focus Group Disscusion (FGD) model, various information emerged from the training participants in exploring the potential of nature that can be used as a tourist attraction in Nagori Dolok Marawa. Furthermore, it is assessed the potential of these natural tourism to be packaged as part of the Tinggi Raja natural tourism

Abstract

Brown sugar is crystallized palm sugar. Some of the reasons why palm sugar is healthier than granulated sugar is that the calories contained in palm sugar are smaller than white sugar so palm sugar is often referred to as low-calorie sugar, and palm sugar also has a lower glycemic index, namely of 35 while in granulated sugar the glycemic index is 58. The optimal way to improve the structure of melted sugar is by processing it into granular sugar, namely through re-melting of molded sugar with the addition of water into a sugar solution. The addition of granulated sugar and seed was found to have an effect on the yield, total sugar, sucrose, and the level of preference for color, taste and aroma, but decreased water content, reducing sugar, browning index and aroma level.The best treatment is the addition of 30% granulated sugar with a seeding temperature of 120 0C, in general it meets the requirements of SII where the water content, 2.75%, reducing sugar 4.35%, sucrose 81.14, total sugar 89.86, ash content, 1 .91%, browning index 0.20 abs/g and 81.36 yield. While the most preferred organoleptic test is the addition of 30% granulated sugar with a seeding temperature of 120 0C with a color value of 6.95, aroma 5.70 and taste 5.70. Economic analysis of melted molded sugar gives a profit of IDR 778,800/month, while improving the quality by processing ant sugar gives a profit of Rp. 1,606,000/month (all inputs are calculated at cost), If the allocation of family labor is categorized as family income plus the use of other materials that are not paid, then the income is Rp. 4,278,000/month for sugar. printing and Rp. 5,456,000/month for ant sugar. The processing of ant sugar is classified as a profitable business with a relatively higher price level than printed sugar
