Abstract

Growth, production and fruit quality of mangosteen are determined by the nutrient content of the soil in their plantations. Analysis of soil chemical properties, such as pH and organic matter content, as well as other nutrients content in mangosteen plantations is very important to determine the level of soil fertility. The soil analysis result should be the base to calculate fertilizer recommendations to improve soil fertility and increase mangosteen yields. This research was conducted in Kamba village, Pamona Timur district, Poso regency, from Sept  2024 to March 2025. The objective of this study was to identify the chemical properties of soil in mangosteen plantations in Kamba Village and to obtain recommendations for fertilization to increase the quantity and quality of mangosteen fruit in the future. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a land survey and supported by laboratory analysis. Soil samples were taken from 10 mangosteen trees located in the north, east, west, south and center. The soil was taken from four different points under each tree and then combined. After that, the samples were prepared and then analyzed in the laboratory. Based on the results of soil analysis, the content of macronutrients and CEC in mangosteen plantations in Kamba Village were categorized as very low - medium category, so additional nutrients are needed to increase plant production. The recommended fertilizer dose for P is 500-1200 g/plant, for K is 621 - 921 g/plant and for Ca is 988 g/plant

Abstract

This activity aims to develop partners' knowledge and skills regarding liquid organic fertilizers (LOF) and growth regulators (GR) through counseling and training in the form of technical assistance and guidance. Implementation methods included extension, manufacture of LOF and GR, application to plants, and evaluation. The target of the implementation of this service was patchouli farmers in Nggawia Village. The initial evaluation instrument was in the form of a questionnaire, while the final evaluation was only in the form of questions and answers during the implementation of the activity. In addition, a simple experiment was carried out on patchouli plants to determine the effectiveness of LOF and GR. The questionnaire, discussion, and experiment results were described based on the data obtained and the experimental parameters. This activity showed that the training on making LOF and GR has succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of farmers in Nggawia Village, West Tojo District, Tojo Una-Una Regency. The average plant height and number of shoots applied by POC and POC coconut water was higher than control, and only POC or ZPT was used singly.

Abstract

Rice is the main staple food of the people in Indonesia, so rice production has a strategic role in national food security. In Central Sulawesi, the agricultural sector, especially rice farming, is the main source of income for most households. This study aims to analyze the amount of income obtained by farmers from rice farming and its contribution to the level of welfare of farmer households. The population was carried out in Sawidago Village North Pamona District Poso Regency Central Sulawesi Province. The study population consisted of 453 farmers who joined 11 farmer groups, and 81 farmers were selected as samples. The results showed that the average income of lowland rice farmers per planting season was IDR 2,255,291 or equivalent to IDR 576,322 per month, which is below the Poso Regency Minimum Wage of IDR 2,586,036 per month. Nevertheless, rice farming made a large contribution to the total income of farmer households, namely 61%. The level of welfare of farming households, measured by indicators such as population, education, employment, household consumption or expenditure patterns, housing, and social environment, indicates that the majority of farmers are in the prosperous category. The results of this study indicate that although income from rice farming is relatively low, its contribution to household income structure is quite significant. Therefore, an active role for farmers is needed to improve their family's welfare.

Abstract

Eggplant is a vegetable that is rich in vitamin and antioxidant so is beneficial for health. Base on this, demand for eggplant continues to increasing. Eggplant production can be increased by increasing the chlorophyll content with additional doses of magnesium (Mg). Mg is the main component of chlorophyll and plays an important role in various plant metabolic pathways. Puprpose of this study  determine effect of Mg on increasing Chlorophyll content and its correlation with increasing eggplant yields. This research was conducted in August-Desember 2023 in the Integrated Garden Rumah Tani Nusantara located in Kayamanya Village, Poso. Central Sulawesi. This Study was designed in CRBD, treatment with 6 levels of Mg doses, namely without Mg doses as control. 0.5 g.polybag-1, 1 g.polybag-1, 1.5 g.polybag-1, 2 g.polybag-1, 2.5 g.polybag-1 with three replications. The parameters observed were chlorophyll content ( chlorophyll a, b and Total), plant height and yield component (number of fruits, fruit weight and Fruit Length). The results showed that the Mg dose treatment increased the chlorophyll content of eggplant leaves, both chlorophyll a, b, plant height and yield components. There is a correlation between increased eggplant yields and magnesium doses.

Abstract

Abstract Chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is a horticultural plant with high economic value, commonly used as a kitchen spice and known for its secondary metabolite compounds that have medicinal properties. The objective of this PKM (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa) is to enhance farmers' knowledge of chili pruning techniques and introduce the benefits of guano fertilizer for plant growth through extension activities. The counseling material presented is based on research conducted by the PKM implementers. The implementation of PKM activities is carried out in three stages: preparation, counseling, and evaluation. The evaluation instrument used is a questionnaire, the results of which are analyzed after data collection. The analysis of the questionnaire data indicates a 100% increase in farmers' knowledge about pruning techniques and the use of guano fertilizer on chili plants.
