Abstract

Batik is a heritage of art, culture, economy, and local wisdom products that are unique, and attractive. It has been globally. Central Java has several batik centers, one of which is Batik Gumelem in The sub-District of Susukan, Banjarnegara Regency is a research location. The study aims to construct student community services in batik education for the young generation the art, culture, and products as local wisdom. This study used quantitative methods and descriptive analysis through the distribution of questionnaires with a quota sample of 100 students from high schools and vocational schools at the research location. The result shows that community service as education can be analyzed into three aspects. First, declarative knowledge refers to the student's understanding of the types of batik and the importance of batik lessons to preserve local wisdom products. The second aspect is procedural knowledge which emphasizes the student's interest and assessment that learning batik, especially designing digitalmotifs, is not difficult. However, in the conceptual aspect, students considered that being a batik craftsman and entrepreneur was not prospective to generate a more promising income such as being an employee. Those results show the empowerment of the younger generation in the field of batik since designing both manually and digitally, to the process of batik to coloring is very important, besides skills in eco-print batik product innovation and its marketing promotion strategies through digital media. The empowerment of batik will contribute to developing the motivation, knowledge.

Abstract

Village funds remain the primary driving force in village development in Kediri, as 44.93% of village revenue in Kediri Regency comes from village funds. However, there are still obstacles in the implementation of the village fund policy in Kediri Regency, which could potentially affect the achievement of policy objectives. In response to this situation, this study aims to analyze the factors influencing the implementation of the village fund policy in Kediri Regency. Referring to Edwards III's Direct and Indirect Impact on Implementation Model and using quantitative methods, it was found that Resources, Attitude, and Bureaucratic Structure have a significant influence on the implementation of village fund policy in Kediri Regency. In contrast, Communication does not have a significant influence. Meanwhile, when the four variables were tested together, the results showed that Communication, Resources, Attitude, and Bureaucratic Structure have a significant influence on the implementation of village fund policy in Kediri Regency, simultaneously. This study recommends that the government prioritise attention to the quality of Standard Operating Procedures, the distribution of roles among implementers, the consistency of implementers' perspectives and attitudes, the quality of human resources, and the provision of adequate authority and facilities.

Abstract

The Program Mahasiswa Berdesa (Promahadesa) DESENTRAL is carried out in Pace Village, Silo District, Jember Regency which is one of the villages supported by Jember University. The village community utilizes their land for ginger cultivation, making it the largest ginger-producing area in Jember Regency. This is evidenced by data from the BPS Jember Regency in 2023. In addition to ginger, there are other types of medicinal plants (TOGA) such as turmeric, galangal, and other plants. There is an issue where the utilization of TOGA plants is not yet optimal, as they are considered household medicinal plants and not utilized as a source of health or business opportunities. Given the lack of innovation in processing herbal products, which are sold in their raw form without being processed into value-added products, the Promahadesa DESENTRAL team adopted a participatory and applied approach focused on utilizing the assets and potential of Pace Village. The participatory and applied approach is implemented through five main stages: focus group discussions (FGD), education, field demonstrations, skill training, monitoring, and evaluation. Activities will focus on planting TOGA and training in processing harvests into instant ginger, instant turmeric, and ginger gummy. TOGA planting will be conducted on village hall land with various plant species totaling 50 seedlings. Processing training will be conducted with the community using demonstration and hands-on methods to produce instant ginger, instant turmeric, and ginger gummy. Through this activity, TOGA plants will be monitored by the local community and the harvest will be processed into instant ginger, instant turmeric, and ginger gummy that are ready to sell so as to provide added economic value to the village community. The results of training, packaging, and marketing have been effective with the community participation rate reaching 95% and the satisfaction evaluation shows a “very good” category.

Abstract

Abstract

The production of Dendrobium striaenopsis orchid cultivation in Indonesia has many obstacles including limited seed provision, low seed quality and cultivation techniques that have not been done well, while orchid enthusiasts always increase every year. Propagation of orchid plants by conventional means requires a long time to obtain a large number of plant saplings, therefore alternative cultivation using tissue culture techniques is needed. In vitro tissue culture techniques are widely used as a fast and efficient way to produce D. striaenopsis orchid plants, but not infrequently there are factors that affect the production of orchids, one of which is bottle size.  The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the effectiveness of bottle size variations on the growth of        D. striaenopsis plantlets after comparing the difference in bottle volume and knowing the optimum size of bottles used for D. striaenopsis plantlet growth. The study was conducted from May to August 2023 in the Laboratory CV. Candi Orchid, Semarang City. The method used was the observation and experimental method after which it was continued with the One Way Anova test and further test T. In this study using Vacin and Went medium with a size of 60 ml by providing treatment variations in bottle sizes of 250 ml, 500 ml and 750 ml with 4 repeats. The result of this study is that a 750 ml bottle used in the tissue culture technique of D. striaenopsis Orchid is effective in use even though the growth of plantlets does not occur a significant difference, this is due to environmental factors, namely light intensity and duration of irradiation

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effect of young coconut water concentration on the growth of Dendrobium orchids. The research was conducted for 4 months at Candi Orchid Production House, Semarang, with a one-factor completely randomized design (CRD) and four treatments of young coconut water concentration (0 mL/L, 100 mL/L, 150 mL/L, 200 mL/L), each with five replications. Parameters observed included number of shoots, root length, and plant height. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's further test at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of young coconut water had no significant effect on the number of shoots and root length (p > 0.05), but had a significant effect on plant height (p = 0.003), especially at a concentration of 100 mL/L. The predominance of cytokinin hormones in coconut water likely plays a role in stimulating stem growth, while its effects on shoots and roots require interactions with other hormones. Although coconut water contains essential nutrients, its composition may not be fully suitable for the physiological needs of orchids in the seedling phase.
