Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of diet containing waste of seaweed Gracilaria sp. on local duck blood lipid profiles including cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein (LDL), and high density lipoprotein (HDL). The material in this study were  72 female Tegal ducks aged 22 weeks with 1,318 ± 121 gaverage body weight, diets containing Gracilaria sp. waste (GW) with 18% protein and 2900 kcal/kg metabolic energy and 150 g/ton feed commercial multi-enzyme (ME).  Data were subject to Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments, (T0) Basal Diets, (T0+) Basal Diets with ME, (T1) Diets with 10% GW, (T1+) Diets with 10% GW + ME, (T2+) Diets with 12.5 % GW + ME, and (T3+) Diets with 15% GW + ME. The treatment was givenfor 12 weeks and blood sample was taken onthe last week. The serum was separated and analyzed for blood lipid profiles using CHOD-PAP. Results showed that diet with 12.5%GW  plus multi-enzyme additives significantly (P<0.05) affected blood lipid profiles of local duck, tended to lower triglycerides and LDL Cholesterol, but increase blood HDL levels.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the blood mineral of Tegal ducks as a response to diet containing Gracilaria sp. waste and additive multienzyme. The study used 72 laying ducks of 22 weeks old which were allotted to 6 treatments, i.e. (1) control diet, (2) diet with multienzymes, (3) diet with 10% LG (4) diet with 10% LG + multienzyme, (5) diet with 12.5 % LG + multienzymes (6) diet with 15% LG + multienzyme. Commercial Multienzyme consisted of protease, amylase, pectinase, β-glucanase, xylanase, phytase, cellulase from Altech (Allzyme SSF) at a dose of 150 g / ton of feed. Gracilaria sp. waste was given in the form  of meal.  The results demonstrated that feed Gracilaria sp. waste and additives multienzymes significantly (P <0.05) increasing the levels of phosphorus, sodium, potassium and iron in the blood of local ducks, but not blood calcium levels (P> 0.05). The use of feed containing seaweed waste multienzyme coupled to a level 15% gave a good response in the blood mineral levels of local ducks compare to control.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang muncul di tingkat peternak rakyat dan memberikan alternatif serta edukasi tentang produk pangan asal ternak yang aman. Permasalahan yang dialami peternak sapi perah di Desa Guranteng Kecamatan Pagerageung Kabupaten Tasikmalaya adalah banyaknya susu yang ditolak ditingkat koperasi karena susu tidak lolos uji Antibiotik. Hal ini disebabkan pengetahuan peternak terhadap residu obat akibat pengobatan penyakit mastitis masih sangat rendah.  Untuk membantu mengatasi hal tersebut, maka telah dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Desa Guranteng dengan mengedukasi para peternak tentang keamanan pangan asal ternak yang bebas dari residu obat-obatan serta memanfaatkan antibiotik alami (Green Antibiotic) sebagai terapi pencegahan penyakit sehingga meminimalisir penggunaan obat kimia yang meninggalkan residu pada produk ternak. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan edukatif. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan pemahaman  peternak sapi perah di desa Guranteng dan tumbuhnya kesadaran akan pentingnya memperhatikan keamanan pangan produk ternak.  Selain itu, hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa peternak juga menerapkan tatalaksana pemeliharaan yang lebih baik dengan penerapan dalam penggunaan Green Antibiotic sebagai pencegahan penyakit.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the antioxidant activities and microbiological and physicochemical characteristics of cow milk kefir fortified with ginger extract (Zingiber officinale). The ginger extract was incorporated together with grain before the fermentation. The levels of ginger extract concentrate were 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 % (w/w). The ginger used in this study is a thick ginger extract that is added before the kefir fermentation process. The result showed that a higher level of ginger extract added to the fermentation could improve the antioxidant activities of the cow milk kefir. The kefir sample fortified with 2.0% ginger extract produced the highest antioxidant activities, particularly DPPH IC50 (0.32%) and a total polyphenol of 0.72%. This study found that the higher the ginger extract level, the lower the total count, total LAB, and total yeast. The average value of physicochemical characteristics for free fatty acid, lactic acids, alcohol, and pH in the present study was 0.5503 mg/KOH, 1.0005%, 1.628 g/dL, and 4.42, respectively. In conclusion, the ginger extract was effective for producing kefir with high antioxidant activities (DPPH IC50) and total polyphenol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan isotonik alami (sari jeruk nipis, ekstrak seledri dan gula) untuk ternak unggas (Burung Puyuh) yang mampu mengatasi cekaman panas (Heat Stress) dengan dosis yang tepat yang ditunjukkan dengan performan produksi. Performan produksi yang diamati meliputi produksi telur dan rataan bobot telur. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat perlakuan antara lain T0 yaitu perlakuan air minum tanpa dosis isotonik, T1 menggunakan 10% infusa seledri, T2 menggunakan 20% infusa seledri, T3 menggunakan 30% infusa seledri yang masing-masing level ditambahkan 2% sari jeruk nipis dan 2% gula untuk menghasilkan cairan isotonik. Hasil penelitian terhadap performan produksi menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan (P>0,05) yang nyata terhadap produksi telur. Namun ada perbedaan (P<0,05) terhadap bobot telur yang dihasilkan. Bobot telur meningkat pada level 30% isotonik alami.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian air minum yang ditambahkan kombinasi ekstrak daun sambiloto dan daun sirsak yang mampu menghasilkan bobot potong dan persentase karkas paling baik pada ayam broiler. Percobaan menggunakan metode eksperimen terhadap 100 ayam broiler umur satu hari dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Kombinasi ekstrak daun sambiloto dan daun sirsak yang ditambahkan ke dalam air minum dengan empat perlakuan sebagai berikut: P0 (0% kombinasi ekstrak/L air minum), P1 (1% kombinasi ekstrak/L air minum), P2 (5% kombinasi ekstrak/L air minum), P3 (10% kombinasi ekstrak/L air minum), diulang sebanyak lima kali ulangan dan masing – masing ulangan lima ekor. Peubah yang diamati meliputi bobot potong dan persentase karkas. Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak daun sambiloto dan daun sirsak tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot potong dan persentase karkas. Penambahan ekstrak daun sambiloto dan sirsak dimungkinkan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memperbaiki kualitas daging ayam broiler. Kata kunci: ekstrak daun sambiloto, ekstrak daun sirsak, bobot potong, persentase karkas, ayam broiler

Abstract

Kefir susu kambing dengan penambahan seduhan kopi robusta (SKR) dimungkinkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas fungsional, karena kandungan antioksidan yang dimilikinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan SKR pada kefir susu kambing dan menentukan level persentase pemberian SKR yang maksimal. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ualangan. Level penambahan SKR pada pembuatan kefir sebanyak 0; 5; 10; 15 dan 20 %. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi pH diukur menggunakan pH meter, kadarpolifenol total menggunakan reagen Folin-Ciocalceu, dan aktivitas antioksdian ditetentukan dengan metode DPPH. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA, dan jika berpengaruh nyata atau siginifikan dilanjut menggunakan uji beda Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penambahan SKR terhadap nilai pH sangat berpengaruh nyata (P<0.05),kadarpolifenol total dan aktivitas antioksidan mengalami peningktan dibandingkan perlakuan P0 atau kontrol. Semakin tinggi penambahan SKR dalam pembuatan kefir maka semakin tinggi pula nilai pH yang dihasilkan. Penambahan SKR sebanyak 20% menghasilkan kefir dengan kadar pH 4.35, nilai pH ini masih masuk standar pH susu fermentasi untuk susu fermentasi. Kadar polifenol total pada penelitian ini semakin meningkat dengan semakin banyaknya penambahan SKR. Penambahan SKR sebanyak 20% menghasilkan kadar polifenol total sebesar 684.4686 mg/L lebih tinggi 70% dibandingkan control. Sampel kefir yang diperkaya 20% SKR menunjukan nilai aktivitas antioksdian paling tinggi DPPH IC50 sebesar 554.3444. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa penambahan SKR efektif meningkatkan  aktivitas antioksdian, kadar fenolat total, dan  pH kefir sesuai standar susu fermentasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian isotonik alami terhadap bobot relatif bursa fabricius, limfa dan hati Itik Cihateup dalam pemeliharaan kering. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental in vivo dan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah penambahan ekstrak selediri sebanyak 25mg, 50mg dan 75mg juga penambahan sari jeruk nipis sebanyak 2%, 3%, dan 4%. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan ANAVA menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap bobot bursa fabricius, limfa dan hati Itik Cihateup

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the government, motivation, capital, livestock ownership, land ownership, farmer education, livestock experience and the COVID-19 pandemic on the income of farmers in developing a business in Pangandaran Regency. By using two methods, namely observation and interviews. Observations were made by collecting data through direct observation of goat breeders in three sub-districts located in Pangandaran Regency. Interviews were conducted by collecting data by conducting direct interviews with goat breeders in Pangandaran Regency, which were more precisely conducted in three sub-districts. The parameters measured in the research that have been carried out are 8 factors, namely the role of the government, motivation, capital, livestock ownership, land ownership, farmer education, livestock experience and the covid-19 pandemic. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that there is a significant simultaneous influence of the independent variables, namely the role of government (X1), motivation (X2), capital (X3), livestock ownership (X4), land ownership (X5), farmer education (X6 ), experience (X7) and the covid-19 pandemic (X8) on the dependent variable (breeder income (Y) of 84.2%. Meanwhile, those that partially affect the income of farmers (one by one) are the capital factor (X3), the experience factor (X7) and the factor of the Covid-19 pandemic condition (X8). Abstract

Indonesia is the third largest cocoa producer and exporter in the world after Ghana and Ivory Coast. Cocoa production in Indonesia in 2020 is 720,660 tons. Cocoa pods have good nutritional potential for ruminants which include 17.2% dry matter; organic matter 81.2%; crude protein 9.07%; neutral detergent fiber (NDF) 73.9%; acid detergent fiber (ADF) 58.98%; cellulose 38.65%; and lignin 20.15%. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal time for making feed from cocoa pods using ammonia and fermentation (amofer) processes. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments for the ammonia fermentation process (Amofer) with 5 replications. The research treatments were: P0 = cocoa pods without urea and without Aspergillus Niger, P1 = cocoa pods + urea 6% + Aspergillus Niger 0.31% + Mineral mix 2% for 7 days, P2 = Cocoa pods + urea 6% + Aspergillus Niger 0.31% + Mineral mix 2% for 14 days, P3 = cocoa pod + urea 6% + Aspergillus Niger 0.31% + Mineral mix 2% for 21 days P4 = cocoa pod + urea 6% + Aspergillus Niger 0.31% + Mineral mix 2% for 28 days. The results showed that the moisture content of the ammonium pod peel on day 0 was significantly different (P<0.05) with the moisture content on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days. The variables measured were nutritional content which included water content, ash content, crude protein (PK) and total lignin. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with the orthogonal polynomial test. The ash content on the 14th, 21st and 28th days of making cocoa pods using the ammonia fermentation (amofer) method using urea and Aspergillus Niger (P<0.05) was significantly different from the control. The results of crude protein analysis on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days of making cocoa pods using the ammonia fermentation (amofer) method using urea and Aspergillus Niger (P<0.05) were significantly different from the control. The results of the analysis of total lignin on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days of making cocoa pods using the ammonia fermentation (amofer) method using urea and Aspergillus Niger (P<0.05) were significantly different from the control. The conclusion of the treatment of cocoa pod peel with amofer is that the addition of urea 6% + Aspergillus Niger 0.31% + Mineral mix 2% with a difference in treatment time of up to 28 days can increase crude protein and water content and reduce ash content and total lignin.
