Abstract

The occurrence of bullying behavior within SDN Bhakti Karya Jogja has the potential to create an environment that is detrimental to the physical and mental development of children. The observed bullying behavior within this context can be categorized as either physical or non-physical/verbal. The bullying observed in this study arises from misunderstandings and minor issues that have a significant impact on the mental wellbeing of those subjected to it. This study employs a qualitative approach in the form of a case study methodology. The research findings indicate that the forms of verbal bullying observed at SDN Bhakti Karya Jogja include slandering the victim and the victim's parents, mocking, threatening, and using profanity. With regard to the forms of physical bullying, these include hitting, taking things, and pinching. It can be observed that victims of bullying exhibit signs of distress. They become quiet, weak, afraid when they meet the perpetrators and tired of the perpetrators’ treatment. Additionally, they become markedly moody and disinterested in learning. Educational institutions have implemented a variety of strategies in response to bullying behavior. These include counseling, disciplinary measures, and the integration of early religious education into the curriculum. Furthermore, the incorporation of character education, comprising curricula designed to instill positive values and behaviors, has gained prominence as a strategy to promote constructive social interactions. Additionally, educational establishments have sought to utilize students' leisure time in productive endeavors, such as the provision of engaging learning activities.

Abstract

Food as a biological substance with the potential to cause foodborne illness. According to Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), more than 20 million incidents of poisoning occur in Indonesia each year. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of hygiene and sanitation counseling on the behavior of food handlers, as well as to conduct microbiological examinations on the palms of food handlers. The method in this study uses quasi-experimental research, using a one-group pretest and posttest experimental design, and sampling was accomplished by unintentional sampling pretest and posttest. As a result, 17 out of 20 (85%) traditional food handlers carry pathogenic bacterial species such as Escherichia coli (65.3%), Staphylococcus aureus (23.5%), and Klebsiella spp (10.2%), but after treatment, the number of traditional food handlers carrying bacterial species pathogens decreased to 6 out of 20 (30%). The Mann-Whitney U test revealed that there was a significant influence on changes in the behavior of food handlers before and after receiving counseling regarding hygiene and sanitation behavior in handling food, which is 0.000 smaller than 0.05. Swabs were also used on the hands. With the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Z test, food handlers have a significant shift in the bacterial organisms identified on their hands before and after counseling, which is 0.000, smaller than 0.05.

Abstract

Abstract— According to WHO (World Health Organization), anxiety disorders affected 266 million people globally in 2019, or 5.3% of the population. As the second most common mental disorder after depression, anxiety impacts 284 million people and significantly contributes to the disease burden worldwide. Meanwhile, regional prevalence rates are 19.2%, 16.2%, 9.0%, and 11.8% in North America, Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia, with particularly 57.5% and 68.8% rates among pregnant women in Bali (2020) and Semarang (2023), respectively. In this context, ginger (Zingiber officinale), traditionally used for various ailments, contains phenol such as shogaol, zingerone, gingerol, and 6-shogaol, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties for reducing anxiety. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the phenol contents of ginger using UV-Vis spectrophotometry in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of North Sumatra. The results show that there is a strong correlation of 0.9794 between gallic acid and phenol content. Additionally, phenol levels are reported with different extraction methods including 43.2653 mgGAE/g (4.326%) with water, 62.7680 mgGAE/g (6.27%) with 70% ethanol, and 129.7456 mgGAE/g (12.97%) with 96% ethanol. The highest phenol content in organic red ginger using 96% ethanol suggests the potential to reduce anxiety by counteracting free radicals.
