Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop Glideapps-based physics learning media with a problem-based learning model on physical quantities and measurement material, as well as describing the results of the development of the learning media that has been prepared. The research used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model which carries out three stages, namely Define, Design and Develop. The research data sources were two lecturers as experts, two class X physics teachers as reviewers, and 96 class X students at SMAN 8 Surakarta. Research data collection techniques use open and closed questionnaire methods. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively using criteria from Saifuddin Azwar. Based on the results of the analysis, the development of Glideapps-based physics learning media with a problem-based learning model on physical quantities and measurement material for class X SMA has very good criteria based on assessments from experts and reviewers. In the limited trial, 89% of students rated the physics learning media as having very good criteria and 11% as having good criteria. Meanwhile, in the field trials, as many as 90% of students rated the physics learning media as having very good criteria, 9% with good criteria, and 1% with sufficient criteria. The result of the development carried out is that the resulting physics learning media has 3 main pages, namely Home, Material and Evaluation. Media is accessed online using a smartphone/PC with a good and stable internet connection. The media can be operated without having to carry out the installation process first.

Abstract

Developing Habits of Mind (HOMs) is essential in higher education as it nurtures critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This study explores the correlation between HOMs and student achievement in the Mathematical Physics course. The research involved 78 undergraduate students from the Physics Education program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The study utilised a student achievement test, designed and validated by experts based on learning outcomes, and a HOMs questionnaire covering self-regulation, critical thinking, and creative thinking dimensions. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0 to test the hypothesis that HOMs influence academic performance in Mathematical Physics. The model's validity was confirmed through Convergent Validity and Discriminant Validity assessments. Significance was assessed using the t-statistic and p-value to determine the statistical significance of the relationships between constructs. Results indicated that the measurement model met the validity criteria, with a T-Value of 15.927 (T-Value > 1.96), confirming a statistically significant relationship between HOMs and learning achievement at a 95% confidence level (alpha = 0.05). These findings underscore the significant impact of HOMs on student performance in Mathematical Physics. Integrating HOMs into the curriculum is recommended to improve learning effectiveness and student achievement in Physics. Furthermore, these results provide educators with a basis for developing more interactive teaching strategies that promote HOMs in students.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the differences in the effect of using Self-Organized Learning Environment and STAD cooperative learning models supported by the Sigil module on knowledge competency in terms of learning independence, and to investigate the differences in the effect of different categories of student learning independence on student knowledge competency. This study aim also to investigate interaction between learning independence with Self-Organized Learning Environment model and STAD cooperative learning model on student knowledge competency. The type of this research is a quasi-experiment. Using the cluster random sampling technique, class XI MIPA 1 was chosen as the experimental class, and class XI MIPA 3 as the control class. Data were collected using documentation, test, and questionnaire distribution methods. Data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA technique followed by multiple comparison tests using Scheffe's method. The results of the study indicate that there is no difference in the effect of Self-Organized Learning Environment and STAD cooperative learning models supported by the Sigil module on students’ knowledge competency, and there is a difference in the effect between categories of student learning independence on knowledge competence. This study also proves that there is no interaction effect of the use of learning models and learning independence on knowledge competency.
