Abstract

The presence of weeds in immature oil palm plantations needs to be controlled, otherwise it results in competition with the main crop. Herbicide active ingredients, especially glyphosate, are widely used to reduce weed growth in oil palm plantations.. This study aimed to determine the dose of isopropylamine glyphosate herbicide that effectively controls weeds in oil palm plantations, changes in weed composition, and phytotoxicity due to the application of isopropylamine glyphosate herbicide in immature oil palm plantations. This trial was conducted in Oil Palm Plantation, Karang Anyar Village, Jati Agung District, South Lampung Regency and Weed Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, September - December 2022. The trial was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 replications and 6 treatments, namely several dose levels of isopropylamine glyphosate herbicide (787,5; 1.050; 1.312,5; and 1.575 g ha-1), mechanical weeding, and untreatment. Homogeneity of data variance was tested with Bartlett's test, additivity of data was tested with Tukey's test, and differences in treatment mean values were tested with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level.The trial showed that isopropylamine glyphosate herbicide doses of 787,5 - 1.575 g ha-1 effectively controlled total weeds, grasses (Axonopus compressus and Ottochloa nodosa), and sedge (Cyperus kyllingia), as well as broad leaves (Asystasia gangetica and Melastoma affine) at dose levels of 1.312,5 and 1.575 g ha-1 at (4, 8, and 12) week after application, isopropylamine glyphosate herbicide doses of 787,5 - 1.575 g ha-1 caused changes in weed composition, and did not cause poisoning of immature oil palm plants after being applied to the crop disk until 12 week after application.

Abstract

Permasalahan petani agroforestri kopi Kabupaten Tanggamus yaitu produktivitas kopi yang menurun sehingga berpengaruh pada perekonomian masyarakat. Tim PKM Universitas Lampung mengajukan teknik kesehatan hutan berbasis regenerative-resilient untuk memecahkan permasalahan tersebut. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatkan pendapatan petani agroforestri kopi melalui penerapan teknik kesehatan hutan berbasis regenerative-resilient. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Peserta pelatihan dalam kegiatan ini mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pemilihan klon, entres, teknik grafting, jenis pupuk, dan juga metode pemupukan. Selain itu petani juga memahami jenis tanaman yang dapat dikombinasikan dengan kopi, jenis-jenis unggulan tanaman pengisi, dan mampu mengevaluasi tanaman kopi dan keberhasilan tanaman pengisi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi cuka (asam asetat) terhadap pertumbuhangulma pada persiapan lahan. Penelitian dilakukan di Politeknik Lampung, Lampung dari bulan Juli sampaidengan September 2011. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkapsatu faktor, yaitu : konsentrasi cuka dengan empat taraf : 0%, 5%, 10% dan 20% dengan empat ulangan. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) konsentrasi cuka 10% - 20% mampu mengendalikan pertumbuhan gulmasampai dengan 4 MSA, terlihat dari tertekannya bobot kering dan persentase penutupan gulma total. (2)konsentrasi cuka 10% - 20 % mampu mengendalikan pertumbuhan gulma daun lebar Asystasia gangética,sedangkan gulma daun lebar lain yaitu kacangan (LCC) dan Mikania micrantha mampu dikendalikan dengankonsentrasi 20% sampai dengan 4 MSA. (3) Gulma golongan rumput yaitu Digitaria longiflora tidak mampudikendalikan oleh cuka sampai 8 MSA.Kata kunci : Cuka (asam asetat), Konsentrasi, gulmaABSTRACTThe objective of this research was to think the effect concentrations of vinegar (acetic acid) on growth ofweeds at land preparation. The experiments conducted in Politeknik Lampung, Lampung from July toSeptember 2011. The research design was used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, i.e :concentration of vinegar with four levels : 0, 5%, 10%, and 20% with four replications. The results showed that:(1) vinegar concentration of 10% - 20% are able to control weed growth to 4 MSA, seen from the suppression ofthe dry weight and percentage of total weeds. (2) vinegar concentration of 10% - 20% are able to control thegrowth of broad leaf weeds Asystasia gangética, while the other broad leaf weeds are nuts (LCC) and Mikaniamicrantha able to be controlled by the concentration of 20% up to 4 MSA. Abstract

Percobaan lapangan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketebalan mulsa alang-alang dan pola tanamtumpangsari terhadap pertumbuhan gulma dan produksi tanaman. Waktu pelaksanaan percobaan dimulai daribulan Juli sampai dengan November 2010. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Petak Jalur dengandua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah mulsa alang-alang, yaitu M0: Tanpa mulsa ; M1: Mulsaketebalan 5 cm M2: Mulsa ketebalan 10 cm, Faktor kedua adalah pola tanam tumpangsari yaitu: P1: 100% cabai+ 25% kubis bunga ; P2: 100% cabai + 50% kubis bunga ; P2: 100% cabai + 75% kubis bunga. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa (1) Penggunaan mulsa alang-alang 5 dan 10 cm dengan tumpangsari cabai 100% + kubisbunga 50% dan 75% mampu menekan pertumbuhan gulma dan menghasilkan pertumbuhan tanaman tertinggi.(2) Perlakuan ketebalan mulsa alang-alang 10 cm dan tumpangsari cabai 100% + kubis bunga 50%menghasilkan produksi buah cabai dan kubis bunga tertinggi.Kata kunci: cabai, gulma, kubis bunga, mulsa alang-alang, tumpangsari.ABSTRACTThe field experiment to find out the effect thickness of reed mulch and the planting pattern intercroppingon the growth of weed and crop production. The experiment was conducted from July until November 2010. TheStrip Plot Design was used with two factors and three replications. The first factor was reed mulch, i.e : withoutmulch, mulch thickness of 5 cm and mulch thickness of 10 cm. The second factor was Intercropping croppingpattern, i.e.: chili 100% + Cabbage Flowers 25%, chili 100% + Cabbage Flowers 50%, chili 100% + CabbageFlowers 75%. Experimental results showed that; (1 ) treatment reed thickness mulch treatment 5 and 10 cm withintercropping 100% chili + 50% and 75% Cabbage Flowers able to suppressed of total weeds growth andproduce the highest crop growth . (2) treatment reed thickness mulch of the 10 cm with intercropping 100%chili + 50% Cabbage Flowers yield of chili and cabbage Flowers production of highest interest.Key words: chili, weed, cabbage flowers, reed mulch, intercropping.

Abstract

Bulurejo Village is one of the villages in Gadingrejo Subdistrict, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province. Bulurejo Village has a quite active Women Farmer Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani/ KWT) known as ‘Ayu Tani’, which was formed in 2014 with 27 members. Bulurejo Village is one of the villages that has the potential to develop the cultivation program of potted vegetable plants (Tanaman Sayur Dalam Pot: TASAPOT). TASAPOT cultivation is conducted to increase the consumption of various food sources in the form of vegetables with the principles of being nutritious, balanced, diverse, and healthy, so that organic farming can be applied during a pandemic era with the aim of increasing body immunity. This community services program aims to equip the community of Bulurejo Village with theoretical and practical knowledges regarding the cultivation techniques of vegetable plants in pots. The method used includes extension, discussion, mentoring, and training or direct practice in the field based on the initial evaluation as a basis for determining the knowledge level of the target partner's regarding the cultivation techniques of TASAPOT. The implementation of this community services program has succeeded to achieve the expected outcomes, namely increased knowledge of the community and members of the 'Ayu Tani' KWT in Bulurejo Village about the importance of Sustainable Food Houses (Rumah Pangan Lestari: RPL) and the cultivation techniques of TASAPOT to improve family’s health the community's standard of living. In addition, there has been an increase in partners’ understanding of the cultivation techniques of TASAPOT, starting from the benefits of utilizing the house yard, the growing media used, planting techniques, and plant maintenance until harvest.

Abstract

A preliminary study of the reproductive responses of crystal guava plants under varying doses of paclobutrazol and NPK fertilizer was conducted. The research took place in a small-scale ‘Crystal’ orchard in Rajabasa 1, East Lampung, from August 2021 to March 2022. The study employed a 3x3 factorial randomized complete block design, examining two factors: paclobutrazol and NPK fertilizer. The first factor, paclobutrazol (P), had three levels: 0 ppm (control), 2000 ppm, and 4000 ppm. The second factor, NPK fertilizer, was tested at three levels: 0 g per plant (control), 250 g per plant, and 500 g per plant. The key variables measured were the number of reproductive shoots, blooming flowers, and fruits, serving as indicators of the ‘Crystal’ guava plant's reproductive responses. The study findings recommended the application of 2000 ppm paclobutrazol and 500 g per plant of NPK fertilizer due to their significantly positive impact on increasing the number of reproductive shoots, blooming flowers, and fruits. Notably, there was no significant interaction observed between paclobutrazol and NPK treatments in regulating plant reproductive growth.

Abstract

Atrazine 500 g/l is a selective herbicide that can be applied during pre- or post-growth of corn. This study aimed to determine the effective level of dosage in controlling weeds in the corn planting area and its impact on growth and corn yields. The study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of Universitas Lampung, South Lampung, and the Weed Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Lampung, from August to November 2022. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with seven treatments and four replications. The treatment consisted of 5 herbicide doses (Atrazine 500 g/l (500, 750, 1,000, 1,250, and 1,500 g/ha), manual weeding, and control. The results showed that Atrazine 500 g/l at doses of 750 - 1,500 g/ha effectively controlled the growth of total weeds, broadleaf and grass weeds, Digitaria ciliaris, and Richardia brasiliensis. While at doses of 500–1,500 g/ha, it effectively controlled Eleusine indica, Cleome rutidosperma, and Commelina benghalensis. Those doses did not poison, and did not inhibit growth, and the yield of maize.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas herbisida isopropilamina glifosat dalam mengendalikan gulma di perkebunan kelapa sawit tanaman belum menghasilkan. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan budidaya kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan, di desa Karang Anyar, Lampung Selatan dari bulan Juni – September 2022. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 6 perlakuan yaitu 4 taraf dosis herbisida isopropilamina glifosat: 1.080 g/ha (P1), 1.440 g/ha (P2), 1.800 g/ha (P3), 2.160 g/ha (P4), penyiangan mekanis (P5), dan kontrol (P6). Perlakuan tersebut disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 ulangan. Homogenitas ragam data diuji dengan uji Barlett, uji additivitas data diuji dengan menggunakan uji Tukey, jika asumsi terpenuhi maka data dianalisis ragam dan perbedaan nilai tengah perlakuan diuji dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) taraf 5%. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa herbisida isopropilamina glifosat dengan dosis 1.080 – 2.160 g/ha efektif dalam mengendalikan pertumbuhan gulma total dari pertumbuhan gulma dominan, Borreria alata, Mikania micrantha, Praxelis clematidea, Axonopus compressus, dan Paspalum conjugatum hingga 12 MSA. Daya kendali terbaik pada gulma Axonopus compressus terdapat pada perlakuan isopropilamina glifosat dengan dosis 1.440 – 2.160 g/ha. Pengaplikasian herbisida isopropilamina glifosat dengan dosis 1.080 – 2.160 g/ha pada piringan tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan tidak menimbulkan gejala keracunan.
