Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of PowerPoint visual communication media in delivering learning in the Islamic Counseling Education Program during the third semester. With the increasing need for engaging and interactive teaching methods, PowerPoint was chosen as a tool to enhance student understanding and participation. The research method employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with lecturers and students, as well as analysis of the learning materials presented using PowerPoint. The research sample consisted of third-semester students and the lecturers teaching the courses. The results indicate that the use of PowerPoint significantly increasees students' interest and motivation to learn. The attractive visual features and structured information delivery help students comprehend the concepts being taught. Additionally, the interactions that occur during PowerPoint presentations contribute to enhancing student engagement in the learning process. However, the study also found that the effectiveness of PowerPoint is highly dependent on the lecturer's ability to design and deliver the material. Lecturers who are skilled in using PowerPoint can create a more dynamic and interactive learning environment. Therefore, training for lecturers in the use of digital learning media is highly recommended. In concusion, PowerPoint is an effective visual communication media for delivering learning in the Islamic Counseling Education Program, provided that its use is supported by adequate lecturer competencies. This study offers recommendations for enhancing lecturer training in the use of PowerPoint to achieve optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of PAK teacher guidance on the interest in learning Christian Religious Education and Character Education of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Sigumpar in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. With the hypothesis that there is a positive influence of PAK teacher guidance on the interest in learning Christian Religious Education and Character Education of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Sigumpar in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Using a descriptive quantitative research method. The population of all students of class X SMK Negeri 1 Sigumpar in the 2024/2025 Academic Year who are Protestant Christians is 50 people. This study is a population study. The research instrument is a closed questionnaire. The results of data analysis obtained: a) The rcount value = 0.871 indicates a positive relationship and a very strong level of relationship in the interval 0.800 - 1.00 between PAK teacher guidance and students' interest in learning Christian Religious Education and Character Education. b) The determination test found that the influence was 75.86%. The study concluded that there was a positive influence of PAK teacher guidance on the interest in learning Christian Religious Education and Character Education of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Sigumpar in the 2024/2025 Academic Year.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the positive and significant influence of the pedagogical competence of Christian Religious Education teachers on the learning interest of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant influence on the pedagogical competence of Christian Religious Education teachers on the learning interest of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year. Quantitative descriptive research method with inferential statistical data analysis. The population of all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year who are Protestant Christians is 108 people. The sample was random (random sampling) namely 50% of the total population, namely 54 people. The research instrument is a closed questionnaire. The results of data analysis obtained: a) The value rcount=0.684>rtabel=0.226 and tcount=6.762>ttable=2.00665 shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between the pedagogical competence of Christian Religious Education teachers and students' interest in learning. b) Regression equation. c) The determination test revealed that the magnitude of the effect was 46.79%. d) Hypothesis testing obtained Fcount=45.306>Ftable=3.15 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The research concluded that there was a positive and significant influence between the pedagogical competence of Christian Religious Education teachers on the learning interest of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and rapid development of information technology, communication is a crucial element in supporting the success of organizations, including within the scope of the Student Representative Council (DPM) of the Tarutung State Christian Institute. As a student legislative body, DPM has the task of forming regulations, overseeing the implementation of policies, and carrying out supervisory functions over the executive budget institution. However, communication challenges often hinder the effectiveness of DPM's performance, such as the lack of integrated communication channels, low understanding of organizational communication, and information gaps between DPM, students, and the campus. Therefore, an innovative communication policy is needed, both internally and externally. Internally, this policy must encourage openness, transparency, and collaboration between members. Externally, an effective communication strategy will strengthen the relationship between DPM, students, and the campus, so that the legislative function can run optimally and create a synergistic relationship.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country rich in cultural diversity, including the diversity of tribes and ethnicities spread throughout the archipelago. Interethnic interaction is a very important phenomenon in reflecting social harmony and cultural diversity in the midst of community life. In the context of students, ethnic diversity is often an interesting element because it involves a cross-cultural communication process, which can enrich understanding and strengthen social relations.Students from the Batak, Nias, and Karo ethnicities, who live or work at the Silangkitang Reading House, have a unique opportunity to interact directly with fellow individuals from different cultural backgrounds. The reading house as a public space not only functions as a place to gain knowledge, but also as an arena for social and cultural interaction. In this interaction, communication is a central element that determines how inter-ethnic relations are established.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of communication media in learning by third-semester students of the Advanced Education Program (PPA). Communication media plays a crucial role in the learning process as it can enhance understanding and interaction between lecturers and students. This research uses a descriptive approach with a survey method involving third-semester students from a university. The results of the study indicate that most students use various communication media, such as online learning platforms, instant messaging apps, and social media, to support their learning. These communication media have been proven effective in facilitating access to materials, group discussions, and communication between students and lecturers. However, challenges such as technological limitations and motivational issues were also identified. This study recommends that educational institutions continue to develop and utilize appropriate communication technologies to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

Visual design at the HKBP Tapian Nauli Church plays an important role in providing counseling to young people. The message conveyed tends to be more effective if the design elements are adjusted to the preferences of the young audience, such as the use of modern colors and typography. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that design has a strategic role in religious counseling at the HKBP Tapian Nauli Church, especially in conveying messages to young people. Design is used as a supporting media that not only attracts attention but also helps clarify the religious values ​​that are to be conveyed.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of communication media in the extension process in Aekraja Village. Communication media, especially interpersonal communication, is considered to have a significant influence in conveying information and building relationships between extension workers and the Aekraja village community. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and observation methods. The results of the research show that interpersonal communication, such as face-to-face dialogue and group discussions, is the main effective medium in the counseling process in Aekraja Village. This is due to its ability to convey messages directly, provide feedback opportunities, and create trust between extension agents and the community. However, this research also found several challenges, such as low levels of media literacy and differences in understanding between individuals, which affect the success of extension. T

Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of Sunday school materials on Sunday school behavior at GKPS Marubun Lokkung in 2025. The research hypothesis is that there is a positive influence between Sunday school materials on Sunday school behavior at GKPS Marubun Lokkung in 2025. Descriptive quantitative research method. The total population of Sunday school children aged 8-11 years at GKPS Marubun Lokkung in 2025 is 35 people. The research respondents were the entire population of Sunday school children aged 8-11, totaling 35 people, so this research was population research. The research instrument is a closed questionnaire. The results of data analysis obtained: a) The value of rcount=0.587>rtable=0.334 shows that there is a positive relationship between Sunday school material and Sunday school behavior at GKPS Marubun Lokkung in 2025. b) Regression equation. c) The determination test revealed that the magnitude of the effect was 34.46%. d) Hypothesis testing obtained Fcount=16.946>Ftable=3.32 so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The research concluded that there was a positive influence between Sunday school materials on Sunday school behavior at GKPS Marubun Lokkung in 2025.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the positive and significant influence of the talking stick learning model on the active learning of PAK class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Lintongnihuta for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant influence between the talking stick learning model on the active learning of PAK students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Lintongnihuta for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is a regression research using Descriptive Statistics techniques. The population of all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Lintongnihuta for the 2023/2024 academic year who are Protestant Christians is 177 people. Random sampling (random sampling) is 30% of the total population, namely 55 people. The research instrument is a closed questionnaire. The results of the analysis requirements obtained the value rxy=0.554>rtabel=0.226 and tcount=4.845>ttable=2.000 showing that there is a relationship between the talking stick learning model and the learning activeness of PAK class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Lintongnihuta for the 2023/2024 academic year and obtained the regression equation. Hypothesis testing obtained Fcount=23.502>Ftable=1.39 so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The research concluded that there was a positive and significant influence of the talking stick learning model on the learning activeness of PAK class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Lintongnihuta for the 2023/2024 academic year, amounting to 30.69%.
