Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh alternatif minyak biji nyamplung sebagai alternatif coolant selama proses pembubutan terhadap kekasaran dan kekerasan baja ST 37. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi eksperimen dengan melakukan studi literatur, eksperimental, pengambilan data, dan analisis data. Variasi proses pembubutan terdiri dari variasi persentase coolant dan putaran spindle. Pada penelitian ini, variasi minyak dromus digunakan sebagai pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kekasaran terendah berada di variasi 1 putaran 450 rpm (40% minyak dromus + 55% air + 5% emulsi) menghasilkan nilai kekasaran awal 1,247m; titik dua 1,837 m; dan titik akhir 1,447 m. Sedangkan nilai kekasaran minyak biji nyamplung yang paling mendekati nilai kekasaran minyak dromus adalah variasi 4 putaran 400 rpm dengan nilai kekasaran awal 2,394m; titik dua 2,005 m; dan titik akhir 1,872 m. Selain itu, hasil nilai kekerasan tertinggi pada variasi 1 putaran 450 rpm (40% minyak dromus + 55% air + 5% emulsi) yang menghasilkan nilai kekerasan awal 93,4 HRB; titik kedua 91,7 HRB; dan akhir 89,3 HRB Sedangkan nilai kekerasan minyak biji nyamplung yang paling mendekati nilai kekerasan minyak dromus adalah variasi 4 putaran 450 rpm dengan nilai kekerasan awal 88,3 HRB; titik kedua 90,4 HRB; dan akhir 87,9 HRB.

Abstract

UD Barokah, produces traditional food “pothil”, is located in Mejing Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency, is approximately 7 km from Tidar University. It produces pothil up to 50 kg/day with a selling price of IDR 70,000/kg. The pothil production process, from preparing ingredients to packaging, is still done manually. The processes that are still done manually are the process of draining the oil and the packaging process which still uses large clear plastic about 5 kg. The packaging also did not include a product label. The aim of this activity is to aid the Mejing Village community in the process of preserving and packaging pothil products.  Through this assistance, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the sales reach of pothil products to the general public in areas outside the Magelang Regency. The activity was carried out in two stages, the first stage was observation with discussion with partners and the second stage, problem solving by assisting in the process of preserving and packaging pothil products. The output of this activity is to improve the quality and sales capacity of Mejing Village pothil products and expand the marketing reach of pothil products.

Abstract

Salah satu cara meningkatkan performa mesin yang paling mudah adalah melakukan penggantian pada camshaft. Camshaft berfungsi mengatur buka tutup katup. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan memodifikasi camshaft terutama pada lift dan durasi. Untuk pengujian dilakukan diatas mesin dynotest yang dilakukan di bengkel 12Racing dan modifikasi camshaft dilakukan di bengkel KT Project. Untuk variasi, terdapat 3 variasi, antara lain camshaft awal yang terpasang, camshaft A, dan camshaft B. Untuk camshaft awal, menghasilkan daya sebesar 20,5 hp pada putaran 7400 rpm dan torsi maksimal sebesar 21,1 Nm pada putaran 6300 rpm. Fuel consumption camshaft ini untuk putaran 1000 rpm menghasilkan data 400 ml/jam, untuk putaran 1500 rpm menghasilkan data 440 ml/jam, dan hasil konsumsi 33,8 km/liter. Untuk camshaft B menghasilkan daya maksimal 24,3 hp pada putaran 8300 rpm dan torsi 21,4 Nm pada putaran 7900 rpm. Fuel consumption putaran 1000 rpm 400 ml/jam, putaran 1500 rpm 450 ml/jam, dan konsumsi 32,2 km/liter. Untuk camshaft B, menghasilkan daya maksimal 24,8 hp pada putaran 8302 rpm dan torsi maksimal sebesar 23,13 Nm pada putaran 6908 rpm. Fuel consumption camshaft B putaran 1000 rpm 350 ml/jam, putaran 1500 rpm 470 ml/jam serta konsumsi 31,7 km/liter. Dari data yang diambil, daya terbesar ada pada camshaft B yang mencapai 24,8 hp pada putaran 8302 rpm dan torsi 23,13 Nm pada putaran 6908 rpm.

Abstract

Minyak oli masuk limbah dari bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3) memerlukan penanganan khusus karena dapat membahayakan lingkungan jika tidak didaur ulang. Salah satu metode yang digunakan dalam pemurnian Residu minyak oli adalah metode acid and clay. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik oli bekas setelah dimurnikan menggunakan metode tersebut, yang melibatkan penggunaan asam kuat sebagai pelarut dan clay sebagai adsorben. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen dengan menggunakan oli bekas Meditran SX SAE 15W-40 sebagai objek utama. Adsorben yang digunakan adalah bentonit, sementara asam kuat yang digunakan adalah asam sulfat (H?SO?). Variasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi waktu pengadukan bentonit selama (3,5; 4,5; 5,5; 6,5; dan 7,5 jam) dengan kecepatan 1000 rpm pada suhu adsorpsi 70ºC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan viskositas kinematik kinematik tertinggi pada suhu 40°C terjadi pada waktu pengadukan 5,5 jam dengan kecepatan 1000 rpm, yaitu sebesar 110,8 cSt. Sementara itu, pada suhu 100°C, viskositas kinematik tertinggi tercapai pada waktu pengadukan 3,5 jam dengan kecepatan yang sama, yaitu 12,61 cSt. Flash Point optimal diperoleh pada waktu pengadukan 6,5 jam dengan kecepatan 1000 rpm, mencapai 215°C. Sedangkan Density optimal tercapai pada waktu pengadukan 3,5 jam dengan kecepatan 1000 rpm, menghasilkan nilai sebesar 0,8631.

Abstract

Penanganan pasca panen harus dapat di maksimalkan untuk mengantisipasi penyusutan kuantitas dan kualitas hasil panen untuk di olah. Metode dalam penelitian ini penulis melaksanakan penelitian terhadap variasi jarak dan susunan gigi pemarut dengan melakukan uji parut menggunakan variasi jarak dan susunan dengan putaran yaitu variasi inline dan miring dengan kerapatan antar gigi yaitu 2 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm dan jarak kerapatan antar baris yaitu 5 mm dan menggunakan variasi putaran 933,3 rpm dan 700 rpm Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan putaran 700 rpm mendapatkan hasil yang terbaik adalah variasi jarak 6 mm x 5 mm Dengan hasil waktu 04 : 03 menit, berat kelapa setelah di parut 893,6 g dan jumlah santan 583,3 ml. Dengan hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa susunan gerigi parut dan jarak antar gerigi dengan putaran pemarutan berpengaruh dengan hasil efisiensi waktu, berat kelapa setelah diparut, dan hasil santan yang diperoleh.

Abstract

Waste is a global environmental problem that is increasing with population growth and consumption. Based on SIPSN 2023 data, waste generation in Indonesia reached 69.9 million tons, dominated by food waste (41.60%) and plastic (18.71%), with households as the main source (44.37%). Incinerators are an effective solution to reduce waste volume by 50–90% and have the potential to generate energy through heat conversion. This study designed an incinerator with a capacity of 45 kg with a double burner system fueled by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to optimize the combustion process and reduce emissions. The design was carried out using SolidWorks 2022, while flow and emission simulations were carried out using ANSYS 2023 R1. This study compares the combustion performance of single-burner and double-burner systems based on CO and CO2 exhaust emissions. Simulation results show that the single-burner system produces a CO mass fraction of 0.6144 and CO₂ of 0.1452, while the double-burner system produces a CO fraction of 0.6845 and CO₂ of 0.0910. The combustion efficiency of the single-burner system was recorded at 19.1%, while the double-burner system only achieved 11.7%. These values indicate that the single-burner system has more complete and efficient combustion than the double-burner system, in terms of exhaust.

Abstract

Rejosari Village, Pakis, Magelang is a center for blacksmithing enterprises, where the majority of residents earn their livelihoods in the blacksmith industry, both as employers and workers. The products produced in the blacksmithing process include hoes, sickles, grass sickles, machetes, knives, spoons, forks, plates. The production process is still carried out manually using simple equipment and has not yet implemented good manufacturing practices. There are still potential workplace hazards, and the understanding and application of OSH aspects remain far from disciplined. The potential hazards found as high heat, respiratory problems. These hazards are exacerbated by work behaviors that have not properly applied OSH standards. Through the implementation of community service activities on management and application, an improvement in understanding of OSH standards has been achieved among both employers and workers. Consequently, work quality and productivity will automatically increase in line with compliance with work behavior based on OSH standards.

Abstract

The portable laser engraving system developed in this study integrates an APM32F103 microcontroller, external flash memory (25Q128JV), and an FSC-BT986 Bluetooth module with an Android-based engraver application. The system is designed to address limitations of bulky and costly commercial engravers by offering a compact, low-cost, and wireless alternative for educational laboratories and small-scale manufacturing. Mechanical and electronic subsystems were designed and fabricated using a knockdown frame structure and 3D-printed components. Performance evaluation included functionality testing, wireless communication stability, motion accuracy, and engraving capability on wood, MDF, acrylic, and synthetic leather. The results show stable Bluetooth communication within an effective range of 8 m, an average motion accuracy error of 0.82%, and engraving depths ranging from 0.28–0.45 mm depending on material and laser parameters. The proposed configuration demonstrates technical advantages in wireless stability, portability, and ease of use compared to conventional wired microcontroller-based laser engravers.

Abstract

Manual mixing of animal feed in small-scale farms often results in non-homogeneous mixtures and requires a considerable amount of time. In addition, the addition of liquids such as vitamins or molasses is generally performed manually, leading to imprecise measurements. This study aims to design a 25 kg capacity animal feed mixer machine integrated with an automatic watering system to improve feed efficiency and quality. The research methods include machine element calculations, design modeling using SolidWorks, and structural strength simulation through static simulation analysis. The design results in a mixing chamber with dimensions of 0.40 m × 0.30 m × 0.325 m, driven by a 0.71 HP electric motor with a shaft rotation speed of 115 rpm. The automatic watering system is capable of supplying 3 liters of liquid within 44.96 seconds, ensuring an ideal moisture content of the feed. Structural strength simulation shows a maximum stress of 72.3 MPa on the frame with a Safety Factor of 5.0, while the mixing chamber experiences a maximum stress of 38.57 MPa with a Safety Factor of 9.1. These results indicate that the machine design is safe to operate and can serve as an appropriate technological solution to enhance feed productivity for farmers.
