Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the electric bicycle frame on macro and micro structures, tensile testing, and hardness testing. This research uses hollow low carbon steel material with a length of 100 mm, width of 6 mm, and thickness of 2 mm. The method used is observation of macro and micro structures, vickers mickrohardness hardness testing. Furthermore, the specimens were welded with current variations of 100 A, 110 A, and 120 A with ASTM E8 design. From the observation of the macro structure, the best results are in the 110 A current variation compared to the 100 and 120 Ampere variations, because the 100 and 120 Ampere results experienced weld failure. The results of the microstructure test at a current of 100 A show that the pearlite phase dominates the parent metal and HAZ areas, while the welding area is dominated by Ferite. In testing the microstructure of 110 A current, it appears that pearlite dominates the parent metal and HAZ areas, while the welding area is dominated by martensite. In testing the microstructure of 120 A current can be seen in the parent metal and HAZ dominated by pearlite, while the welding area is dominated by martensite. From the Vicker microhardness test, the highest results in the welding area in the 120 A current variation and the lowest point in the parent metal in the 100 A current variation. The tensile test results show the highest value of yield stress 352.581 MPa and max stress 390.822 MPa shown in the 110 A current variation.

Abstract

Stir casting merupakan salah satu metode pembuatan bahan logam yang populer dalam industri manufaktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan parameter kecepatan mixing aluminium daur ulang yang diperkuat dengan serbuk alumina terhadap struktur mikro, kekerasan dan tarik. Material yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan bahan limbah aluminium yaitu limbah velg bekas. Parameter yang digunakan pada proses stir casting ini adalah variasi kecepatan 500, 600 dan 700 rpm. Pada pengamatan struktur mikro menggunakan metallografy optik dan Rockwell hardness digunakan untuk menguji kekerasan serta untuk pengujian tarik menggunakan Universal Testing Machine. Hasil pengamatan struktur mikro menunjukkan hasil terbaik terjadi pada parameter kecepatan 500 rpm, karena sedikitnya porositas. Pengujian kekerasan terbaik 87.65 HRB terjadi pada perameter kecepatan 500 rpm, hasil tersebut sejalan pada pengamatan strukturmikro. Pada hasil pengujian tarik nilai tertinggi 65.46 Mpa, hasil tersebut berbanding terbalik dari pengujian yang lain. Faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil tersebut adalah proses pengadukan yang kurang stabil.

Abstract

The hi-speed computational using simulation software has emerged for the calculation of force dynamic. Albeit the significant progress in the computational method, the aerodynamic of flying wing are somewhat elusive. Herein, we performed a detailed computation of the lift and drag behaviors of NACA-0015 flying wing modelled through the surveillance speeds and difference angle of attack using Ansys. This study aims to determine and analyze the maximum angle of attack, lift force and drag force at speeds of 10 m/s, 30 m/s, and 50 m/s. The method used is analysis using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) simulation software. The simulation uses Ansys Fluent to determine the aerodynamic characteristics, after varying the angle of attack at a predetermined speed on an airplane (unmanned aerial vehicle) wing with a NACA 0015 airfoil. The results of the research that has been carried out are the maximum angle of attack at a predetermined speed variation (Re = 0.2 x 105 to 1.0 x 105), namely 25° at each angle of attack, with details of a speed of 50 m/s getting the highest lifting force, around 38,72 N and drag force in the area 6,49 N.

Abstract

The stir casting method is a widely used technique for producing metal matrix composites by incorporating reinforcement particles into molten metal. This study investigates the effect of copper (Cu) powder reinforcement on the microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminum matrix composites fabricated using the stir casting method. The base material consists of recycled aluminum from vehicle wheels, with copper added as a reinforcement to enhance the mechanical characteristics of the cast material. The casting process involved melting aluminum waste at 650°C, followed by the gradual addition of Cu powder in varying volume fractions (2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%) while stirring at a constant speed of 500 rpm for 5 minutes to ensure uniform distribution. The microstructural analysis was conducted using optical metallography, while tensile and hardness properties were evaluated using a Universal Testing Machine. The results indicate that the most uniform powder distribution was achieved at 5% Cu reinforcement, whereas the highest porosity was observed at 7.5% due to particle agglomeration. The highest hardness value (42.52 BHN) was observed at 2.5% Cu reinforcement, while the maximum tensile strength (111.7 MPa) was obtained at 5% Cu. However, an increase in Cu content beyond 5% led to a decline in mechanical properties due to increased porosity and reduced bonding efficiency. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing Cu content in aluminum matrix composites to balance mechanical strength and structural integrity.

Abstract

Minyak jelantah merupakan limbah rumah tangga yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan dan membahayakan kesehatan apabila digunakan secara berulang atau dibuang sembarangan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi melalui pelatihan kepada warga, khususnya menambah wawasan bagi ibu-ibu PKK di Kelurahan Jatirejo, Kecamatan Gunungpati, Kota Semarang. Pelatihan mengenai pemanfaatan minyak jelantah menjadi produk bernilai guna, yaitu lilin wangi. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup presentasi dalam seminar mengenai dampak negatif minyak jelantah terhadap lingkungan dan kesehatan, serta praktik langsung pembuatan lilin wangi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 anggota PKK dan berlangsung secara interaktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta dan respons positif terhadap inovasi pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga menjadi produk yang bernilai ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan. Diharapkan, kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengelola limbah secara kreatif.
