Abstract

Interpolation techniques can be used to determine the approximate value of a parameter if it is known that two values are bound to a certain interval. Interpolation can be done numerically or fractal. The fractal interpolation value is influenced by the vertical scale factor and the fractal interpolation function (FIF). This research introduces fractal interpolation technique with FIF which is constructed from Sierspinski triangles. As an example of application, the interpolation technique is applied to determine the approximate value of the rice demand parameter in the inventory model. The accuracy of the interpolation results is determined using the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The number of triangles obtained and the interpolation values for each successive iteration are 3???? and 3????+1. MAPE values from 6 to 9 iteration were 24.603%, 24.603%, 23.858%, 23.772% respectively. There is a decrease in the value of MAPE, this indicates an increase in the value of the accuracy of the interpolation results. It can be concluded that the MAPE value is also influenced by the number of iterations of the interpolation technique.

Abstract

It is a fallacy to assume that mathematics can be taught in a one-way manner, whereby the teacher reads the material and students sit and listen. In order to facilitate comprehension of the material being taught, a variety of teaching aids are required. A further challenge is that not all teachers have the time to create their teaching aids. Furthermore, the creation of teaching aids necessitates a considerable degree of creativity. Not all educational institutions have the financial resources to procure instructional materials, particularly those in public schools in underprivileged regions. The objective of this activity is to assist in the development of educational teaching aids for teachers and educators in elementary schools in Pelabuhan Dalam Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This activity will enhance students' engagement and comprehension of the subject matter presented by the instructor. The mentoring activity is comprised of several stages, commencing with a survey, a presentation of material on the creation of teaching aids, tutorials on the construction of said aids, and concluding with the practical application of said aids by the activity participants. The activity was conducted over four meetings and ended with a post-test to assess the participants' comprehension of the mentoring material that had been provided. The participants in this service activity were 14 elementary school teachers and educators. The implementation team consisted of four lecturers from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University, and eight students. The results of the test demonstrated that 92.8% of participants scored above 80, and 85.7% of participants indicated that they strongly agreed that this mentoring activity was beneficial and hoped that it could be continued

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal location of the LRT Musi Emas Feeder stops Corridor 5 in conjunction with the LRT DJKA Station-Plaju Terminal route. Light Rail Transit (LRT) is a rapid transit system that employs an integrated rail crossing model. At present, the LRT remains a primary mode of daily transportation for the residents of Palembang. One of the initiatives undertaken by the government to facilitate the utilization of LRT transportation is the provision of passenger transportation (feeder services). The positioning of the feeder stops remains suboptimal and needs more integration with existing public facilities. The distance between the stop locations is highly variable, with some nearby and others at considerable distances. This issue is addressed through the formulation of the Set Covering Problem (SCP) model, which encompasses the Set Covering Location Problem (SCLP) and Maximal Covering Location Problem (MCLP) models, as well as the development of the Improved SCLP model. The SCP model yields four optimal stop locations, which are significantly distant from the actual conditions at the site. In contrast, the Improved SCLP model identifies 48 optimal feeder stops mapped using Geographic Information System (GIS) software. This map of feeder stops could inform the Palembang City Transportation Agency’s efforts to develop an integrated transportation management system.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design and optimize a demand response based-selfish user Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) model to demonstrate with a narrow-minded client utilizing three financing plans specifically level charge, usage-based, and two-part tariff. The Traffic data is classified into incoming data and outgoing data, obtained from a local server in Palembang. The optimal solution is obtained by determining the decision variables and parameters used in each case for all models, compiling improved C-RAN models as many as 2 models, namely model I, and model II, and then determining the optimal solution and sensitivity analysis using LINGO 13.0 software. The most optimal solution is obtained from model II with a flat-fee scheme in case 1 of IDR 3299.7/kbps with 45 iterations. The results of the sensitivity analysis is on the variables ak,m that allows the increase and decrease in the objective function coefficient. At the same time, the value 0 will be constant.

Abstract

Learning and research in higher education have experienced many challenges and problems, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. However, these challenges have been overcome using online learning platforms such as Moodle University, Zoom, Google Meetings, and Microsoft Teams. However, this has not been fully resolved in the field of research. It is sometimes complicated for research teams to work together on research. Research records or research logbooks are not quickly sent via email. In addition, research records, such as computer programming, require direct handling of the program that has been created without copying and pasting. Mathematics research also requires fast and dynamic access. Google Colab is a Google collaboration that provides free, cloud-based tools for education and research. Google Colab is particularly eye-catching because it gives users free access to GPU services as a computing backend that can be used for 12 hours. If you want to learn Python and machine learning, buying a computer with an additional GPU is unnecessary. The training process in these two fields is tricky, especially if the equipment is inadequate. Mathematics lecturers in Palembang need assistance because lecturers' knowledge about Google Colab is still very low. The implementation team conducted a mentoring activity on using Google Colab for machine learning and Python through the Zoom platform. The activity consists of several stages: explanation, tutorial, and practice.

Abstract

Interpolation is a method to determine the value that is between two values and is known from the data. In some cases, the data obtained is incomplete due to limitations in data collection. Interpolation techniques can be used to obtain approximate data. In this study, the Lagrange interpolation method of degree 2 and degree 3 is used to interpolate the data on rice demand. A trapezoidal fuzzy number expresses the demand data obtained from the interpolation. The other parameters are obtained from company data related to rice supplies and are expressed as trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. The interpolation accuracy rate is calculated using Mean Error Percentage (MAPE). The second-degree interpolation method produces a MAPE value of 30.76 percent, while the third-degree interpolation has a MAPE of 32.92 percent. The quantity of order respectively 202677 kg, 384610 kg, 1012357 kg, 1447963 kg, and a Total inventory cost of Rp. 129231797951.

Abstract

The rapid development of Palembang City comes with an increase in population and a proportionate increase in waste. Providing Temporary Waste Disposal Sites (TWDS) with ideal locations is one way to address the waste problem in Palembang City. The location of the existing TWDS could be more regular and optimal. The problem of determining the optimal TWDS location can be solved by optimization science, as classified in the Set Covering Problem (SCP) model. The SCP model is divided into the -Center Location Problem and -Median Problem models. This study aims to determine the optimal locations for TWDS in the Alang-Alang Lebar Sub-District, Palembang City, by comparing the results of the p-Center Location Problem and p-Median Problem models. Initially, the Alang-Alang Lebar Sub-District had 33 TWDS. After formulating the Set Covering Location Problem and Maximal Covering Location Problem models, we obtain the optimal solution, which we then solve using the -Center Location Problem and -Median Problem models. Based on the results and discussion, the optimal TWDS can meet the demand of each village in the Alang-Alang Lebar Sub-District. The -Center Location Problem and -Median Problem models produce the same optimal TWDS, namely TWDS Pramuka 2 Street and around, TWDS Colonel Sulaiman Amin Street, TWDS Talang Kelapa Ujung, and TWDS Beside Soekarno Hatta Street. This study recommends using both models to determine the optimal TWDS.
