Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Grobogan Regency remains high, with Antenatal Care (ANC) coverage falling short of national targets. The Wirosari II Health Center reports particularly low K6 coverage at 37.92%. This study evaluates ANC service implementation at Purwodadi I and Wirosari II Health Centers to provide improvement recommendations. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with midwives, maternal and child health workers, and pregnant women. Data validation was conducted via triangulation, and analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model. Findings reveal adequate human resources, but uneven health worker training. Infrastructure is sufficient, though equipment damage hinders Wirosari II. Service procedures align with standards, but SOP violations and limited nutrition personnel were noted in Purwodadi I. While K1 and K4 targets are achieved in Purwodadi I, Wirosari II struggles with recording and networking issues. Overall, ANC implementation in Purwodadi I is effective, while Wirosari II requires improvements in data recording, health worker training, and resource management. These findings provide actionable recommendations to enhance maternal health services in Grobogan Regency.

Abstract

Persons with disabilities are a vulnerable group that often face barriers in emergency situations, including disasters. Therefore, strengthening preparedness capacity needs to be carried out from an early stage. The SI-PANDAI program (First Aid Preparedness for Disability Companions) was implemented as an empowerment effort to improve basic first aid knowledge and skills at the elementary level of Special Schools (SLB) in Pekalongan Regency. The activities were conducted through socialization, demonstrations, simulations, and hands-on practice using a participatory learning approach. Program evaluation was carried out through observation of student engagement and feedback from teachers. The results showed that students actively participated in all training sessions, were able to practice simple first aid steps such as treating minor wounds, performing basic evacuation, and recognizing disaster warning signs. SLB teachers responded positively, stating that the program was beneficial and should be continued sustainably. In conclusion, the implementation of SI-PANDAI proved effective as an adaptive empowerment innovation for first aid preparedness among children with special needs and has the potential to support the development of disaster-resilient inclusive schools.

Abstract

Introduction: Scabies is a contagious skin condition and a persistent public health issue in many tropical regions, including Indonesia. Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors play a central role in preventing transmission, particularly in communities with limited sanitation. Objectives: This study aimed to identify community patterns of knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors associated with scabies occurrence in the Wolofeo region. Methods: This descriptive quantitative study included 70 respondents selected through purposive sampling from individuals who had previously received outpatient treatment for scabies at the Wolofeo Health Center. Data were collected using a standardized questionnaire that had undergone content validation and reliability testing. Validity was supported by a CVI of 0.87, and reliability was confirmed through a pilot test yielding a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.82. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequency and percentage distributions. Results: Most respondents demonstrated good knowledge of hygiene and scabies prevention. Attitudes toward Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors were overwhelmingly positive, with nearly all participants expressing favorable views. All respondents reported good hygiene practices, indicating strong behavioral adoption of preventive measures. Demographic characteristics, particularly adulthood and senior high school education levels, were associated with higher readiness to implement preventive behaviors. Conclusions: The community showed strong preparedness for scabies prevention through good knowledge, positive attitudes, and consistent hygiene practices. However, a small subset exhibited limited understanding and less favorable attitudes, highlighting the need for sustained health education. Future research should incorporate observational methods to validate self-reported practices and better inform targeted prevention strategies.
