Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of family support on reading interest in class IX MTs Nurul Islam, Kediri. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sample in this study were 57 respondents. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling in the form of purposive sampling. The research data analysis was carried out using linear regression analysis. Based on the results of research on family support for reading interest in class IX MTs Nurul Islam, Kediri, namely: the level of family support is in the moderate category and the level of students' reading interest is in the moderate category. Based on the results of the regression analysis, a sufficient/moderate (positive) relationship was obtained between family support and reading interest with a coefficient of determination of 20.9%. Thus it can be said that the influence of reading interest is influenced by family support by 20.9%, while the remaining 79.1% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the metacognitive problem-solving skills of class X SMA Negeri 1 Kediri students at the level of initial controversial reasoning, exploration, and clarification, when solving irrational inequality problems. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used controversial problem tests, problem-solving tests, think-aloud methods, and task-based semi-structured interviews. The data analysis technique used was qualitative data analysis with steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The validity of the data used triangulation techniques and member checks. The results show that students' metacognitive problem-solving skills at the initial controversial reasoning level can meet the three indicators of metacognitive activity at the stage of understanding problems and determining the problem-solving strategy plan. Students' metacognitive problem-solving skills at the level of exploration can fulfill the three indicators of metacognitive activity at the stage of understanding problems, determining the problem-solving strategy plans, and completing problem-solving strategies. Students' metacognitive problem-solving skills at the level of clarification can meet the three indicators of metacognitive activity at the stage of understanding the problem, determining the problem-solving strategy plan, completing the problem-solving strategy, and looking back.

Abstract

Community diversity shows a nation that is rich in tradition and culture. Indonesia is a country of diverse ethnicity, race, and culture but we are still one called Bhineka Tunggal Ika. In the order of society, it is reflected in the form of tolerance practiced in the daily life of Sekaran Village. The multi-religious community that lives side by side makes researchers want to know their neighbors’ lives. The method used in reviewing this research is a qualitative approach, using a social fact paradigm. The results of the research are Sekaran is an exemplary village for people who have multiple religions and the practice of tolerance in neighboring life starts from the small things in the social environment. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the lives of neighboring communities of Sekaran are inseparable from the lives of the people in general, which is the difference between the people of Multi-Religion. The people’s life is very keeping the peace between religious groups which makes the village a model of religious tolerance in the Kayen Kidul Subdistrict.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PMRI learning with open-ended problems on students' mathematical critical thinking ability in  MTsN 1 Kota Kediri. This research method used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design. The population of this research is all of class VIII MTsN 1 Kota Kediri. Sample of this research are Class VIII G was the experimental group and class VIII E was the control group. The instruments used are test questions (pretest and posttest) based on critical thinking indicators including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation, RPP and learning implementation observation sheet. The results show that the average pretest and posttest scores of students' critical thinking skills in the open-ended-based PMRI class were 33.8 and 75.79. While the average pretest and posttest classes that use conventional learning are 33.97 and 65.50.The results of the independent sample t-test and obtained the value of sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 where 0.000 < 0.05 so is accepted. This means that there is a difference in the average critical thinking ability of students after using PMRI learning based on open-ended with conventional learning. Furthermore, to determine the level of effectiveness of the learning model used, the n-gain test was carried out and the average n-gain score for the experimental class was 0.6379, and was categorized as moderate. While the control class is 0.4800 and is categorized as moderate. The average value of the experimental class n-gain score is greater than the control class, so it can be concluded that Open Ended-based PMRI learning is more effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

A realistic math problem is one of the math problems whose solution requires a reasoning habit. Reasoning ability will increase if students often practice their reasoning habits. By solving realistic math problems, it is expected that students’ reasoning habits can be trained well. This study aims to describe the reasoning habits of class VIII students of MTs Sunan Kalijogo Kranding Kediri Regency, East Java, Indonesia in solving realistic math problems in terms of 4 stages of reasoning habits. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The data collection technique in this study used a mathematical reasoning ability test sheet and interviews that had been validated by four mathematics education experts and had met the valid category. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII F MTs Sunan Kalijogo Kranding, totaling 28 students, then three students with high, medium, and low categories of reasoning habits were taken to conduct interviews. The results of this study indicate that students with high-category reasoning habits can fulfill the four stages of reasoning habits. Students with reasoning habits in the medium category can fulfill two stages of reasoning habits. Students with low-category reasoning habits are not able to fulfill the four stages of reasoning habits.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations, the activeness of the Comparative Mathematics learning process in class VII E MTsN 2 Kediri City is still relatively low. This is because the teaching materials used are only printed teaching materials. The aim of study was to develop a Mathematics E-Module on Comparative Material with a Realistic Mathematics Approach in collaboration with Kediri Culture. This study uses the R&D method with the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research instruments used were material expert validation sheets, media experts, teacher response sheets, and student responses. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive quantitative analysis. The experimental subjects in this study were students at MTsN 2 Kediri City. The results of this study indicate that the e-module developed is in the very good category with an average score of 94.5% from material expert validation, from media experts at 82.5%, from teacher response sheets at 100%, from group trials small by 83%, and from the large group trial by 81%.

Abstract

This paper is a Research and Development to make an educational game learning called Puzzle TEKAD (Tenun Ikat Bandar), which is aimed at transforming material for 9th grade students. The software developed using Construct 2 by applying the ADDIE development model which includes 5 main stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.  The tools used in this paper include expert verification forms, practitioner questionnaires, black box tests, student response questionnaires, and student assessment forms. The results show that the product validity is in a very good category, with an average score of 4.95 for media experts, 4.15 for materials experts, and 4.66 for field practitioners.  Based on group experiments, educational games fall into the utility category, as all aspects of functional testing using black-box testing work well. The product effectiveness aspect falls under the effective category based on student assessment results, which shows that all scores are higher than KKM. It can be concluded that the TEKAD educative game meets the aspects of feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in teaching transform materials in 9 school grade.

Abstract

This study aims to develop android-based mathematics learning media on polynomial material that is valid, practical, and effective for use in learning. This type of research is research and development by applying a 4-D development model which has stages consisting of: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection instruments used were an expert validation questionnaire, practicality questionnaire, and pretest-posttest questions. The subjects of this study were students of class XII SMAN Gogol. The results show that the assessments of material experts and media experts obtained valid criteria. In the practical aspect, the learning media are stated to be very practical to use as a support for learning from the assessment of teachers and students. In the pretest-posttest results of students, the increase in learning outcomes is at the "medium" level seen from the n-gain test scores so the "Pintar Polinomial" learning media is declared to be effectively used in learning polynomial material. It can be concluded that the "Pintar Polinomial" learning media is feasible to use in learning because it has met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan kebutuhan penting bagi kehidupan manusia. Diperlukannya sebuah pendidikan ialah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mengembangkan potensi diri setiap manusia. Terdapat banyak cabang ilmu pengetahuan, salah satunya adalah matematika. Matematika adalah program studi wajib untuk semua mahasiswa dan siswa sekolah. Matematika adalah argumen logis, cara berpikir, dan bahasa yang terdiri dari frasa yang didefinisikan secara tepat, diungkapkan secara simbolis, dan padat. Ini lebih merupakan bahasa simbolis tentang konsep matematis. Namun, banyak menganggap pelajaran matematika adalah pelajaran yang sulit dan menyeramkan. Sehingga peserta didik selalu merasa kesal ataupun malas saat mata pelajaran matematika. Peserta didik merasa bahwa materi-materi yang ada didalam matematika merupakan musuh bagi kehidupan terutama pada materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pemahaman siswa SMP terhadap pengertian operasi penghitungan bilangan bulat yang diukur dengan metode PMRI. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif dan dilakukan dengan tiga belas siswa SMP. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan datanya melalui penggunaan wawancara dan hasil tes. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menganut Miles dkk. analisis, yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik sudah cukup baik yang didasarkan pada indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika yang telah di ukur dari 2 kelompok yang sudah mampu mengimplementasikan semua indikator pemahaman konsep yang digunakan oleh peneliti.
