Abstract

Improving science learning outcomes in elementary schools, particularly in rural areas with limited resources, remains a persistent challenge. At SD 4 Gondosari Gebog Kudus, instruction is still dominated by lecture-based methods, resulting in passive student participation and low academic achievement. This study aims to examine the effect of the Hands-On Activity model on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students. A quantitative approach was employed using a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of 13 fifth-grade students, and the research instrument was a 20-item multiple-choice test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis included the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, Levene’s test for homogeneity, simple linear regression, and paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 61.54 (pretest) to 82.69 (posttest), with the t-test yielding a significance value of p = 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the Hands-On Activity model. These findings reinforce the effectiveness of active learning in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and engagement, especially in resource-constrained educational environments. The Hands-On Activity model offers a contextual and practical alternative instructional strategy for elementary education. ABSTRAK Peningkatan hasil belajar IPA di sekolah dasar, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan dengan keterbatasan sarana, masih menjadi tantangan. Di SD 4 Gondosari Gebog Kudus, pembelajaran masih didominasi metode ceramah yang membuat siswa pasif dan berdampak pada rendahnya capaian akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Hands-On Activity terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel terdiri dari 13 siswa kelas V, dengan instrumen tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 soal yang telah divalidasi dan diuji reliabilitasnya. Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas (Shapiro-Wilk), homogenitas (Levene), regresi sederhana, dan paired sample t-test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 61,54 (pretest) menjadi 82,69 (posttest), dengan uji t menghasilkan p = 0,000 (< 0,05), yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari penggunaan model Hands-On Activity. Temuan ini memperkuat efektivitas pembelajaran aktif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA dan keterlibatan siswa di lingkungan belajar dengan sumber daya terbatas. Model ini dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan aplikatif di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This research is based on the application of an ineffective learning model, which has resulted in many students failing to meet the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). This research aim to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the mathematics learning outcomes of class 5 students at SD 1 Undaan Kidul. This research uses a quantitative approach method with a Quasi Experimental Design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The data collection techniques in this research used pretest and posttest assessments administered to class 5B as the experimental class and class 5A as the control class. The data analysis techniques used are the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The research hypothesis states that there is a difference in learning outcomes between students who use the Problem Based Learning model assisted by LKPD and those who use the conventional model. Based on the results, the mean N-Gain for the experimental class was 61.18%, which is categorized as quite effective. Meanwhile, the mean N-Gain for the control class was 29.99%, which is categorized as failed. It was concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by LKPD is quite effective in increasing the mathematics learning outcomes of class 5 students at SD 1 Undaan Kidul.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect and differences before and after applying the discovery learning model on student learning outcomes in IPAS (Integrated Science) for fourth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of 49 students divided into two classes, namely 24 students of grade IV SD 3 Papringan as the experimental class and 25 students of grade IV SD 2 Papringan as the control class. Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The test instruments were examined for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminating power, resulting in 20 valid items used in the pretest and posttest. Data analysis included normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and paired sample t-test. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) = 0.030 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the discovery learning model compared to conventional learning. Meanwhile, the paired sample t-test produced a significance value (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, confirming a significant improvement in student learning outcomes after the implementation of discovery learning. These findings suggest that discovery learning is effective in enhancing both academic achievement and active participation in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by audiovisual media on students’ learning outcomes in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) subject for fifth grade students at SD 3 Papringan. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Non- equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 47 students, divided into an experimental class (24 students) and a control class (23 students). Data collection was conducted using pretest and posttest with validated test instruments. Data analysis involved normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the experimental class achieved higher learning outcomes compared to the control class. The independent sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.006 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis revealed that the experimental class achieved an average gain score of 0.6093 (medium category), while the control class achieved 0.4483 (medium category). These findings indicate that the use of CTL with audiovisual media is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in IPAS. This study suggests that integrating contextual learning approaches with audiovisual support can enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of learning outcomes, measure the effectiveness, and determine the classical completeness of students in Science and Social Science (IPAS) learning using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model assisted by the Kahoot application. The research was motivated by the low student achievement in the topic of the photosynthesis process, attributed to the u se of conventional teacher-centered teaching methods with minimal interactive media. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design was employed. The sample consisted of 26 fourth-grade students from SD 3 Pedawang (experimental class) and 24 fourth-grade students from SD 1 Pedawang (control class). Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation, and analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, N-Gain, and classical completeness analysis. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes (Sig. 0.005 < 0.05). The experimental class's average score increased from 52.50 to 84.23, while the control class improved from 46.67 to 72.71. The N-Gain score for the experimental class was 63.71% (moderately effective), compared to 46.99% (less effective) for the control class. Classical completeness reached 100% in the experimental class and 66.67% in the control class. In conclusion, the TGT model assisted by Kahoot is proven effective in improving fourth-grade students' IPAS learning outcomes, outperforming conventional methods, and fulfilling the criteria for classical completeness.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Puding susu bunga telang merupakan produk olahan makanan yang sudah siap saji yang terbuat dari agar–agar yang kemudian dimodifikasi dengan adanya penambahan susu dan ekstrak bunga telang untuk menambah kesan menarik pada produk puding. Tanaman telang memiliki kandungan senyawa ternatin (antioksidan biru), senyawa tersebut dapat memberikan warna pigmen biru pada kelopak bunga. Pigmen biru yang terdapat dalam bunga telang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pewarna makanan. Bunga telang juga telah dibuktikan memiliki berbagai efek farmakologi seperti antidepresan, antikonvulsan, antimikroba, antipiretik, antiinflamasi, analgesik, diuretik, anestesi lokal, dan antidiabetes. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan secara tatap muka atau luring di kelurahan wergu wetan untuk memberikan informasi tentang pengolahan Bunga Telang menjadi puding. Kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat bagi warga kelurahan wergu wetan untuk melakukan pengolahan Bunga Telang sebagai puding. Kata Kunci : Bunga Telang

Abstract

The low level of active involvement and the suboptimal use of interactive media in science learning in elementary schools have triggered the need for media innovations that can stimulate students' critical thinking skills, especially in energy material. This study aims to test the effectiveness of using Canva-based educational games as an alternative visual and interactive learning media. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type, this study involved 59 third-grade students divided into experimental and control classes. Data analysis was carried out through prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-test, which produced a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the calculation of the N-Gain test in the experimental class recorded an average increase of 0.79, which is included in the high category. The conclusion of this study proves that the implementation of Canva-based educational games is very effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in science subjects, so it is recommended as an innovative learning medium that can create a more interesting and meaningful learning atmosphere. ABSTRAK Rendahnya keterlibatan aktif dan kurang optimalnya penggunaan media interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar menjadi pemicu perlunya inovasi media yang mampu menstimulasi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, khususnya pada materi energi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan game edukatif berbasis Canva sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran yang visual dan interaktif. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design, penelitian ini melibatkan 59 siswa kelas III yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji prasyarat serta uji hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sample t-test, yang menghasilkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05), menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Selanjutnya, perhitungan uji N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen mencatat rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 0,79, yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Simpulan penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa implementasi game edukatif berbasis Canva sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS, sehingga direkomendasikan sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menarik dan bermakna.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the suboptimal learning outcomes of students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), particularly in materials that require conceptual understanding, thereby necessitating innovative learning media to enhance student engagement and comprehension. The focus of this study is to determine the significance of the influence of using Wordwall as a learning medium on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in the IPAS subject at SDN Tanjungsari. This study employed a quantitative method using a pre-experimental design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, involving 20 fourth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The test instruments were administered before the treatment (pretest) and after the treatment (posttest) to determine improvements in learning outcomes. The results of the study indicated a significant increase in students’ learning scores, where the average pretest score of 52.00 increased to 86.00 in the posttest, resulting in an improvement of 34.00 points. These findings are reinforced by the results of the N-Gain test, which show an average score of 0.7163, indicating that there is a significant effect of using Wordwall as a learning medium on IPAS learning outcomes. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the use of Wordwall as a learning medium provides a positive and significant impact on improving students’ learning outcomes. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil belajar IPAS peserta didik yang masih belum optimal, terutama pada materi yang membutuhkan pemahaman konseptual sehingga diperlukan media pembelajaran yang inovatif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman peserta didik. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui signifikansi pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran Wordwall terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV di SDN Tanjungsari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental tipe One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, dengan melibatkan 20 peserta didik kelas IV sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen tes diberikan sebelum perlakuan (pretest) dan setelah perlakuan (posttest) untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada skor hasil belajar peserta didik, yaitu skor rata-rata pretest sebesar 52,00 meningkat menjadi 86,00 pada posttest, sehingga terdapat kenaikan sebesar 34,00 poin. Temuan ini diperkuat oleh hasil uji N-Gain dengan nilai rata-rata 0,7163, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan media pembelajaran Wordwall terhadap hasil belajar IPAS. Berdasarkan data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran Wordwall memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using "Monopoly Science" media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students regarding ecosystem topics. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design (One Group Pretest-Posttest) was employed, involving 33 students from SD Muhammadiyah Blimbingrejo as research subjects. Data were collected through validated pretest and posttest instruments, then analyzed using simple linear regression, N-Gain, and Paired Sample T-tests. The results indicated that the Monopoly Science media contributed 62% to student learning outcomes (R2 = 0,620). The N-Gain analysis showed an average score of 0.6039 (moderate category) with an effectiveness level of 60% (fairly effective criterion). Furthermore, the Paired Sample T-test produced a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05, proving a significant difference in learning outcomes as evidenced by the increase in the students' average score from 50.09 to 79.82. In conclusion, the use of Monopoly Science media is proven to be significantly influential and effective in improving the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning outcomes of elementary school students.
