Abstract

Sambirejo Village is one of the stunting locus areas. Based on 2022 data, there are 23 children under two years old who are stunted out of a total of 192 people, and 50 children under five years old who are stunted out of a total of 494 toddlers. One of the causes of stunting is based on maternal anemia and CED (Chronic Energy Deficiency). In 2022, data was obtained from 83 pregnant women, there were 43 people experiencing anemia and 15 people with KEK. The incidence of anemia in adolescent girls was 45 and KEK was 58 out of a total of 361 adolescent girls. If this condition is not prevented, the incidence of anemia, CED and stunting will continue to increase from year to year. Alternative food to increase iron and prevent CED to prevent stunting is to use food ingredients taken from local wisdom in the form of processed food using three basic triad ingredients (moringa leaves, catfish and tiwul/cassava) in the form of: cilok catfish, moringa ice cream and chips / cassava-catfish sticks which have nutritional and economic value. Through this training, 100 target participants were given health material and demonstrations on making highly nutritious food preparations. The results of this activity prove that there is an increase in knowledge about anemia, CED, stunting and skills in making processed food that has nutritional value and marketability.

Abstract

Background: The rapid advancement of information technology has significantly transformed access to health information. However, the emergence of online media as a major information channel has also brought negative consequences, such as the widespread dissemination of misinformation, particularly when not accompanied by adequate digital literacy skills. This study aimed to analyze the effect of strengthening digital health literacy among mothers with children under five years of age in preventing and managing stunting. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a two-group pre-posttest design was conducted involving 112 mothers of children under five with stunting, divided into control (n=56) and intervention (n=56) groups. Samples were selected using simple random sampling. A web-based application, Cegating, was developed and tested for usability using the System Usability Scale (SUS). Respondents’ knowledge was measured using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate approaches with SPSS software. Results: The usability test of Cegating yielded a SUS score of 89.8%. In the intervention group, the mean knowledge score increased from 62.52 (pre-test) to 64.79 (post-test) (p=0.001). In the control group, the mean score increased from 60.68 to 63.30 (p=0.029). Conclusion: Strengthening digital health literacy improved mothers’ knowledge in preventing and managing stunting. The Cegating application is feasible and effective as an educational tool to enhance health education strategies for mothers with children under five to prevent and address stunting.

Abstract

Adolescent pregnancy is a serious problem. Adolescent pregnancy can lead to reduced antenatal care (ANC) visits and result in significant consequences in the form of untreated pregnancy complications that will result in increased Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). The primary objective of this study was to ascertain and scrutinize the factors influencing antenatal care (ANC) visitation patterns among adolescent pregnant women within Bantul Regency. This study is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The outcomes of the chi-square test for the facilitating factor yielded results about the level of education (p= 0.041), marriage status (p= 0.006), and pregnancy status (p= 0.000) while on the reinforcing factor of family support (p= 0.027). The results of this study's logistic regression test stated that health worker support (p= 0.020) and pregnancy status (p= 0.001). The conclusion of this research suggests that the pivotal determinants significantly influencing ANC utilization among adolescent pregnant women in Bantul Regency are the presence of health worker support and the particular status of pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Labor pain may induce maternal anxiety, interfere with uterine contractions, and prolong the birthing process. Music therapy is a non-pharmacological intervention known to mitigate both labor pain and anxiety. Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of Javanese-traditional (Karawitan instrumental) and classical music therapies on anxiety, labor pain, and the duration of the first and second stages of labor. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted involving 201 mothers undergoing normal labor at primary healthcare centers. Participants were assigned into three groups: Javanese-traditional music (Karawitan instrumental), classical music, and a control group practicing deep breathing. Interventions lasted 40 minutes. Anxiety was measured using the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, pain intensity with a visual analog scale, and labor duration through partograph analysis. Statistical tests included paired t-test, Wilcoxon signed-rank, Kruskal-Wallis, one-way ANOVA, and Mann-Whitney U testsResults: Both music interventions significantly reduced anxiety and pain within groups (p-value< 0.001). No significant difference in pain reduction was found between the two music groups during the first active phase (p-value= 0.108). Similarly, anxiety scores did not differ significantly between the music groups post-intervention (p-value= 0.956), though classical music showed a slightly greater reduction. Regarding labor duration, Javanese-traditional music was associated with a shorter first stage, while classical music significantly reduced the duration of the second stage (p-value= 0.000 and p-value= 0.035, respectively). Conclusions: Javanese-traditional (Karawitan instrumental) and classical music therapies are both effective in reducing maternal anxiety and labor pain while supporting labor progress. Javanese-traditional (Karawitan instrumental) music demonstrated greater effectiveness during the first stage, whereas classical music offered benefits in anxiety reduction and second-stage labor duration

Abstract

Data Profil Kesehatan Indonesia tahun 2019 cakupan ASI eksklusif sebesar 67,74 %.

Abstract

Cadres are the drivers of various aspects of society's social life. Health cadres are one of the partners of health workers who are expected to be able to bridge between health workers and the community, helping improve the health and welfare of people in the region. The principle of community empowerment is applied in health development programs; one example is the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu). Posyandu is an activity that is managed and organized from, by, for, and with the community. The aim of community service activities is to provide education about the KIA book to health cadres. The target of the activity was health cadres, totaling 20 participants. The methods used were lectures, questions, and answers using the KIA book as tools and presentation material about the use of the KIA book. Evaluation of community service activities by assessing pre-test and post-test regarding knowledge of KIA book use by cadres. The post-test was carried out after participants received information about using the KIA book. The results of the activity showed an average pre-test score of 60.71 and an average post-test score of 72.85. The conclusion of this community service activity was that there was an increase in the level of knowledge of health cadres in using KIA books to monitor the growth and development of toddlers as an effort to screen for early stunting.
