Abstract

Indonesian manpower (IM) is a term used to refer to the Indonesian migrants who work overseas. Although the exact number of the IM is not well recorded by the government of the Republic of Indonesia, the amount of the remittance the IM send home to their family is found to be quite significant. In 2005, the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia declared that the amount of the IM’s remittance reached US$ 2.9 billion, which was much higher than the government’s expected amount (US$ 1.9 billion). This study found out that (1) the IM’s remittance affected the amount of the money spreading in the home district where the IM came from so that it enhanced the purchasing power of the people in the district towards the consumptive goods and services which, in turn, triggered the elevation of the prices of goods and services; (2) the IM’s remittance stimulated the traders or merchants to determine the goods and services pricing which was commonly called the expected inflation; (3) most of the remittance was spent for consumptive goods and services and only a little amount of it was spent for investment; and (4) the IM’s remittance was a factor that positively affected the increase of the human development index (HDI) in the IM’s home district. To effectively increase the effect of the remittance towards the HDI in the IW’s home district, a governmental policy that was oriented towards the development of the IM’s family potentials and attempted to change people’s behavior

Abstract

As a metropolitan city, Surabaya has a population of 2,971,300 people, consisting of 1,474,330 people (49.62%) men and 1,496,970 people (50.38%) women. This number causes the complexity of population administration service problems (Adminduk). The crucial problem is the discrepancy between de facto data and de jure data, caused by the high mobility of changes in population data due to births, deaths, in-migration and out-migration. The Adminduk Awareness Community Environmental Area Program (abbreviated: Kalimasada) is here to solve this problem. This study aims to: (1) determine the public's response to the Kalimasada program; (2) knowing the contribution of the Kalimasada program to data updating; (3) knowing the benefits received by universities in implementing the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM). The method used in this research is: systematic review with a qualitative approach, namely Meta-Ethnography. Systematic review is used to identify, evaluate and interpret all research results that are relevant to the research objectives. The results of this study indicate that the collaboration between the Kalimasada and MBKM-A programs has very good prospects, which is corroborated by the data: (1) the public gave a positive response to this program (community, head of RT, village apparatus, sub-district head); (2) in each RT, there is an increase in updating population data; (3) Universities that are willing to collaborate are always increasing, and state that this program is very helpful in achieving the effectiveness of the MBKM program on their campus.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the role of the government as a regulator, facilitator, and catalyst in empowering MSMEs in Reog Ponorogo. The qualitative descriptive research method is used with data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The results of this research show that the role of local government as a regulator, facilitator, and catalyst in empowering MSMEs in Reog Ponorogo still needs to be improved. As a regulator, the local government should be able to create policies or regulations that agencies can implement to develop Ponorogo Reog MSMEs, such as agency uniform regulations that use Reog attributes in August. The government's role as a catalyst is to provide accessible trading permits for new MSMEs and provide stimulus in the form of people's business credit or KUR in collaboration with private parties in developing MSMEs with relatively simple application requirements.

Abstract

The development of online markets in Indonesia that sell imported goods at low prices has caused many MSMEs to go collapse. To accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals, especially achieving the goal of "a country with no poverty, no hunger, creating decent jobs and economic growth as well as a healthy and prosperous country," MSMEs need to be protected from these problems. This study aims to analyze the prospects for the development of online shopping and its impact on MSMEs and propose improvements to marketplace governance. Method research includes interviews, secondary data studies, literature reviews, and meta-analyses. Research results show that online shopping is a need for future society; the marketplace is increasing in terms of numbers, consumers, and transaction value. The number of MSMEs experiencing collapse has increased due to the inability to compete with marketplace players. It is necessary to improve marketplace governance through regulations to protect MSMEs. Current laws only protect consumers, not yet protect MSMEs. Through marketplace governance, it can empower MSMEs to overcome and prevent poverty and hunger, create decent jobs and economic growth, have a healthy and prosperous life, and accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.
