Abstract

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, monitoring body temperature is a crucial concern for the community, and it serves as an essential step in understanding the health condition of an individual's body. The workers in environments that involve physical contact and are prone to dirt are at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19. In this study, we created a body temperature detector to optimize the working environment in the waste processing area of Mojokerto Regency. Several modules and devices have been utilized, including the Arduino Uno R3 module, an ultrasonic sensor for object detection and temperature sensing, MLX90614 for detecting body temperature, and a buzzer system. The SDLC (Build & Fix design) method was employed to simulate the actual conditions at the Randegan Landfill in Mojokerto. Consequently, the designed IoT device can automatically send information and provide follow-up through a network of various functions. It can be concluded that the developed body temperature detection device has the potential to minimize the risk of contracting COVID-19 and enhance healthier and more productive working conditions.

Abstract

Digital transformation in operations management has become an urgent need for companies to improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness in the face of an increasingly complex and competitive business environment. Digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and big data provide opportunities for companies to optimize various aspects of operations. This article aims to explore how digital transformation can be applied in operations management to support these goals. The research method used is a literature review, where various previous studies and industry reports are analyzed to identify the benefits, challenges, and impacts of digital technology implementation on business operations. The results show that the implementation of digital technology enables companies to speed up workflows, reduce costs, improve process accuracy, and prepare the foundation for continuous innovation. In the discussion, it is also explained that although there are challenges in terms of investment costs, training, and data security, companies that successfully overcome these barriers will gain a significant competitive advantage. The implications of these findings are the importance of continued investment in technology and human capital development, as well as the adoption of sustainability strategies to support long-term growth.

Abstract

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in the Indonesian economy. This study aims to explore the influence of intellectual capital on MSME performance through innovation. Using the purposive sampling method, questionnaires were distributed to 98 MSME owners in Indonesia. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SMART PLS application. The results of SEM analysis show that intellectual capital has a positive effect on innovation (t-statistics = 120,105) and MSME performance (t-statistics = 18,863). In addition, innovation also has a positive effect on the performance of MSMEs (t-statistics = 12,010). This finding confirms that improving the performance of MSMEs requires strong intellectual capital and is supported by effective innovation. Thus, increasing innovation can be key in improving the performance of MSMEs. This research makes an important contribution in the understanding of the relationship between intellectual capital, innovation, and MSME performance. The implications of these findings can help MSME owners and related stakeholders to improve intellectual capital management strategies and innovations to improve the performance of MSMEs in Indonesia.
