Abstract

One of the important things in determining the quality of livestock products is feed ingredients. The quality of Poultry products will be influenced by the nutrient intake provided. Tomato reject is one of the special ingredients of a feed because it contains high lycopene. Lycopene is well known as an antioxidant, also it can lower cholesterol content. However, lycopene still in the matrix of tomato tissue and trans-form lycopene what difficult to digest and absorb in the body. So, in this paper presents the extent to which the development of research utilization of tomatoes high lycopene as poultry feed. As well as opening more widely how to increase the value of lycopene tomatoes in poultry products.

Abstract

This experiment was carried out to study the effect of substitution of TSI ration with rice bran fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens on feed comsumtion, henday production, egg mass and feed convertion of layer. This experiment was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments. Each treatment three replicates at twelve layer each. The treatment were diets which contained substitution of 20% (A), 30% (B), 40% (C), 50 % (D), 60% (E) and 70% TSI with rice bran fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (F), resvectively. Feed and water was offered ad libitum. Result of this experiment showed that feed comsumtion, henday production, egg mass and feed convertion were highly affected (P<0.01) by treatment but not affected to henday production. It was concluded that substitution of 40% TSI ration with rice bran fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens was decreased feed comsumtion and feed convertion of layer.

Abstract

Salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan pakan atau menurunkan Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR) dan memperbaiki penampilan produksi ternak unggas antara lain dengan menambahkan berbagai imbuhan pakan seperti enzim dan antibiotik. Saat ini penggunaan antibiotik dalam ransum ternak telah dibatasi karena residunya memberikan efek samping terhadap konsumen, sehingga dicari feed additif lain yang aman seperti probiotik. Probiotik dapat merubah ekosistem mikroba pencernaan selain itu juga menghasilkan antibiotik alami, sehingga berpengaruh terhadap kesehatan dan kinerja inang. Penggunaan probiotik sudah banyak diterapkan untuk ayam, namun pada ternak itik masih sedikit. Penelitian dan penggunaan probiotik sebagai pakan imbuhan masih perlu ditingkatkan agar diperoleh teknik produksi yang efisien dan praktis dan dapat diaplikasikan sehingga mampu memberikan dampak ekonomis terhadap industri peternakan. Probiotik memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap itik diantaranya meningkatkan kesehatan dan menurunkan rasio konversi ransum.

Abstract

Program ini dilakukan pada peternakan itik Nagari Sungai Kamuyang Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah pengembangan ternak itik seperti mahalnya harga pakan, minimnya informasi tentang penyusunan ransum berbasis bahan lokal dan sistem pemeliharaan yang masih tradisional. Selain itu kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak tentang probiotik dan manfaat serta cara penggunaannya, sehingga dengan penggunaan probiotik WARETHA pada ternak itik dapat mengatasi permasalahan dalam pengembangan usaha ternak itik seperti dapat menekan biaya pakan yang tinggi dan lebih terjangkau bagi usaha peternak rakyat. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa pendekatan yaitu pembelajaran berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan tim pengabdi sebagai fasilitator berupa pengenalan produk probiotik WARETHA dan mempraktikkan cara penggunaannya serta cara penyusunan ransum itik berbagai tingkat umur, sehingga dengan penggunaan probiotik WARETHA dapat menekan biaya pakan yang tinggi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mengurangi biaya produksi, meningkatkan pendapatan peternak dan dapat mengurangi bau feses di sekitar kandang yang ramah lingkungan serta meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak tentang manfaat dan cara penggunaan probiotik WARETHA. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak tentang manajemen pemeliharaan ternak itik dengan menggunakan probiotik WARETHA dan penggunaan bahan pakan lokal, sehingga dapat mengurangi biaya produksi dan menekan biaya pakan.

Abstract

Untuk menghasilkan produk ternak organik yang bebas bahan aditif kimia, hormon, antibiotik perlu dilakukan suatu program penerapan teknologi tepat guna dengan pemanfaatan Waretha (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) dalam usaha tersebut sebagai inokulum/probiotik. Waretha sebagai probiotik dapat memperbaiki kualitas produk dan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan pakan. Probiotik Waretha adalah luaran dari beberapa hasil penelitian selama enam tahun dimulai dari ditemukan bakteri B. amyloliquefaciens sebagai isolat selulolitik, proteolitik dan fitalitik serta sebagai inokulum fermentasi. Satu kali pemberian probiotik Waretha pada DOC broiler tanpa diberi fed aditif (vaksin, vitamin, antibiotik, hormon) diperoleh efisiensi penggunaan ransum meningkatkan dari 61% menjadi 67%, litter tidak basah dan berbau, meningkatkan populasi Lactobacillus sp dan menekan populasi E. Coli, persentase karkas meningkat dari 67% menjadi 72% dan kolesterol turun dari 2,61 menjadi 1,53 mg/g/daging. Untuk ayam petelur efisiensi penggunaan ransum meningkatkan dari 41,% menjadi 50%, litter tidak basah dan berbau, dan kolesterol turun dari 12,15 menjadi 10,21 mg/g/kuning telur. Sebagai inokulum dan sekalian sebagai probiotik Waretha (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) telah memfermentasi darah yang diserap oleh dedak padi pada dosis inokulum 3% dan lama fermentasi 3 hari (pakan DDPF) diperoleh peningkatan kualitas produk dengan kandungan PK 56,28%, SK 7,17%, retensi nitrogen 64,07%, 7,17%, kec. SK 47,58% dan EM 3373 kkal/kg. Produk DDPF mengandung spora B. amyloliquefaciens 1013cfu/g yang berfungsi sebagai probiotik yang menghasilkan produk organik. Penggunaan 15% produk DDPF sebagai pengganti 30% bungkil kedelai dan 50% tepung ikan pada ransum broiler dapat menurunkan konversi ransum dari 1.84 menjadi 1.76. Hasil yang sudah dicapai pada kegiatan tahun II, produksi dua ton DDPF dan melakukan pemeliharaan ayam ras petelur sebanyak 700 ekor semenjak bulan Mei 2016, dan sekarang sudah bertelur 50%. Pada uji untuk mengetahui level pemakaian pakan DDPF pada ayam ras petelur diperoleh bahwa pakan DDPF dapat menggantikan konsentrat CP 124 35% atau harga pakan per kg menjadi lebih murah yaitu dari Rp. 4.800,- menjadi Rp. 3.300,-.

Abstract

Sawahlunto city is one of the cities/districts in West Sumatra actively assisting the poor. The assistance was given was livestock for farmers, such as goats, ducks, and native chickens. In 2020 the population of ducks in Sawahlunto was recorded at 18,654 ducks with 257 farmers. In 2022, there is a giving of 100 ducks to a breeder by the related government. The ducks are farmed in four sub-districts, i.e. Talawi, Barangin, Lembah Segar, and Silungkang Districts. The society target of the activity was duck breeders under the Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Service of Sawahlunto City. The main problem of them is high feed prices and difficulty developing breeders. The knowledge transfer from academics to farmers was carried out by counselling and discussions about good production, nutrition, and livestock health. This activity was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic, which was still restricted by social distancing protocol. The discussion was attended by around 137 participants consisting of 70 poultry farmers, 30 agricultural assisting workers, and 37 local heads in Sawahlunto City.

Abstract

This program was conducted on the Nagari Atar duck farm, Padang Ganting District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. This activity aims to overcome the problems of developing ducks such as the high price of feed, the lack of information about the preparation of rations based on local ingredients and the traditional maintenance system. In addition, this activity aims to increase the knowledge of farmers about probiotics and their benefits and how to use them, so that the use of Waretha probiotics in laying ducks can overcome problems in the development of laying ducks business, such as reducing the high cost of feed and making it more affordable for smallholder farms. The method of activities carried out to overcome this problem can be done with several approaches, namely learning in the form of training and mentoring with a team of service as facilitators in the form of introducing WARETHA probiotic products and practicing how to use them and how to prepare rations for laying ducks at various age levels, so that the use of Waretha probiotics can suppress high feed costs. The results of this activity are reducing production costs, increasing farmers' income and being able to reduce the smell of feces around the cage which is environmentally friendly as well as increasing the knowledge of farmers about the benefits and how to use Waretha probiotics. The conclusion of this community service activity is that it can increase the knowledge of farmers about the management of laying ducks by using Waretha probiotics and the use of local feed ingredients, so as to reduce production costs and reduce feed costs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa ayam KUB umur 6 sampai 12 minggu yang diberi maggot BSF (Black Soldier Fly) dalam ransum. Ayam KUB umur 6 minggu digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 ekor. Pemberian perlakuan berupa tepung maggot dalam ransum dilakukan sampai ayam umur 12 minggu. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah P1 (0% maggot), P2 (7% maggot), P3 (14% maggot), P4 (21% maggot), dan P5 (28% maggot). Ransum disusun dengan iso protein dan energi yaitu protein 17,5% dan energi 2800kkal/kg. Parameter performa yang diamati yaitu konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum. Dari penelitian yang dilakuakan menunjukkan hasil bahwa pemberian maggot BSF dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, namun berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan konversi ransum. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tepung maggot BSF sebanyak 14% dalam ransum dapat memberikan performa yang baik pada ayam KUB.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge of duck farmers in the Saririek Sepakat group located in Padang Ganting District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. The main challenge faced by this group is the high cost of feed. The solution offered to address this issue is to improve farmers' knowledge through nutrition optimization by transferring knowledge related to duck nutrition and appropriate technology for the use of probiotics, as well as utilizing local feed ingredients to create affordable and efficient rations. The methods used in this community service activity include observation, counseling and training, and post-training assistance. The participants of the activity consist of 20 members of the Saririek Sepakat group. The counseling provided includes the transfer of knowledge regarding the nutritional needs of ducks, challenges, and solutions related to feed. Demonstrations/training were conducted on the use of Waretha probiotics and the preparation of duck rations from simple ingredients to create efficient and affordable feed. The indicator of increased knowledge among group members is shown by the results of observations on their enthusiasm and understanding of the materials and training provided. The outcome of the community service activity is that the knowledge of group members has successfully increased by optimizing nutritional factors to develop duck farming businesses. A ration combining commercial feed/concentrate, rice bran, and corn with the addition of probiotics has become a solution for affordable feed. The conclusion of the community service activity is the increased knowledge of group members, particularly regarding the optimization of nutritional factors for duck farming in the Saririek Sepakat group.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the balanced effect of feed supplements on the nutritional and mineral content of rice fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The research used a completely randomized design with a 3 x 3 x 3 factorial pattern with three replications for each treatment combination. The treatment factors consist of factor I, three levels of Zn (25, 50, 75 ppm); factor II, three levels of urea (1.0, 1.5, 2.0%); and factor III, three levels of sulfur (0.2, 0.4, 0.8%). The research results showed that treatment A (Zn), factor B (Urea) had a very significant effect (P<0.01) and factor C (sulfur) had a non-significant effect (P>0.05). Treatment of factors A (Zn) and B (urea) had a significantly different effect (P<0.05) on calcium content. Factor C (sulfur) had no significant effect (P>0.05), and there was no interaction between treatment factors. Treatment of factor A (Zink), factor B (urea), and factor C (sulfur) had no significant effect (P>0.05). There is an interaction between the AC factor (Zn and sulfur), while there is no interaction between the AB factor (Zn and urea), the BC factor (urea and sulfur), and the ABC factor (Zn, urea and sulfur). It can be concluded that the administration of 25 ppm Zn, 2% urea, and 0.2% sulfur gave the best results on the crude protein content (22.62%), calcium (0.33%), and phosphorus (1.22%) of fermented rice bran with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.
