Abstract

The Indonesian government has implemented a quality assurance system for higher education in the health sector, including competency tests. The aim of carrying out competency tests is to achieve graduate competency standards that meet performance competency standards, however, the Indonesian Nurses Competency Test experiences a decline in the pass rate every period. The low percentage of students passing the nurse competency test should be an evaluation material for every nurse education institution in Indonesia. Many factors can influence or become obstacles in achieving passing the nurse competency test, one of which is a lack of understanding in analyzing and answering computer based competency test questions. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of Android-based learning applications as a medium for learning and practicing Nurse competency tests. The design used in this research is a pre post test one group design. The sample from this research is 60 students participating in the Jambi University Nurse Professional Education Study Program who will be prepared using the Ruang Ukom Application learning media to take part in the nurse competency test activities. This research instrument uses the average standard of the Nurse Competency Test TryOut before the Nurse Competency Test is carried out to measure student preparation in the Indonesian Nurse Competency Test. Students were given a pretest of 180 questions, then given training intervention for 20 meetings with a duration of 1 meeting for 2 hours, then a post test was carried out. After that the data was processed using the t-test data analysis technique with α=0.05. The results of the study showed that students' readiness in facing the nursing school before being given intensive guidance using the Ruang Ukom application was at a mean of 34.75 (SD=2.144) and students' readiness in facing the Nursing School after being given intensive guidance using the Ruang Ukom application was at an average of 50.65 (SD=2.44) and the use of this application was proven to be effective in increasing student readiness in facing the nursing school (p=0.000). Exam preparation before facing the nursing competency test using the right media is important for students to increase their readiness to face UKOM so that the UKOM graduation rate can increase

Abstract

Orphans are a special group of children who are generally marginalized and vulnerable to mental disorders. Efforts that can be made are to provide education about the importance of maintaining mental health as an effort to improve mental health. So that education can be easily understood by school age children, education needs to be delivered using varied media, namely pop-up book media because pop-up books provide surprises on every page which will make the story even more real. This research aims to determine the effect of using pop up book media on the mental health of school-aged children. This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research using a pretest-posttest control group design approach with 20 respondents divided into 10 intervention groups and 10 control groups. Data measurement with the SDQ instrument. Univariate data analysis using frequency distribution. Bivariate analysis uses paired t-test. The results of mental health research after being given pop-up book media were that in the intervention group, 10 respondents were in the normal category (100%) while in the control group 8 respondents were in the abnormal category (80%) and 2 respondents were in the borderline category (20% . which was tested using the paired t-test, the p-value was 0.001 or p < 0.05. This shows that there is a significant difference in mental health before and after being given education using pop up book media. There is a significant influence between mental health before and after being given pop-up book media at the Sumatra Rindang Foundation. It is hoped that the Sumatra Rindang Foundation can develop pop-up book media for a more interesting and effective learning process.

Abstract

Background: Missed nursing care, which refers to necessary patient care that is omitted or delayed, is a significant concern in pediatric nursing. This literature review aimed to describe missed nursing care in pediatrics, identify the most commonly missed nursing care categories, and summarize the underlying reasons. Method: A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, and Scopus databases without time limits. Quantitative studies reporting on missed nursing care categories, reasons, and associated factors in pediatric settings, published in English with full text available, were included. Seven articles were selected for analysis. Result: The results showed that missed nursing care was influenced by workload, work environment, and staffing levels. Higher patient-to-nurse ratios significantly increased the incidence of missed care. Better work environments correlated with fewer missed nursing activities, but frequent interruptions and unexpected patient volume surges remained major issues. Frequently missed activities included oral care, routine bathing, and adherence to infection protocols. Nurse characteristics such as age, education level, and working hours also impacted missed care and job satisfaction. Addressing missed nursing care requires strategic staffing, improved work environments, targeted interventions, and ongoing education to enhance care quality. Conclusion: This review highlights the complexity of missed nursing care and its dependence on various factors, including workload, work environment, and nurse characteristics. Developing and validating pediatric-specific assessment tools and studying factors such as workload, staff training, and work environment are crucial for addressing missed nursing care in this setting.

Abstract

The National Nursing Competency Examination (UKOM) is a crucial requirement for obtaining a Registration Certificate (STR) for professional nursing practice in Indonesia. Despite its importance, many nursing students face challenges in preparing for the exam, particularly in understanding case-based questions, applying critical thinking, and accessing effective learning support. This community service program aimed to improve students’ readiness for UKOM by implementing a digital-based training and guidance strategy using the Ruang Ukom application at the Nursing Department of Jambi University. A blended learning approach was employed, combining face-to-face sessions, small group mentoring, and independent practice using the application. The Ruang Ukom platform featured interactive case-based questions, real-time feedback, exam simulations, and learning progress tracking. A total of 86 students participated, divided into intervention and mentoring groups. Quantitative analysis showed a significant increase in knowledge scores, with the mean pre-test score of 104.84 rising to 160.22 in the post-test. The intervention also enhanced students’ confidence, exam readiness, and critical thinking skills. The program encouraged digital transformation in academic guidance and demonstrated that integrating technology into nursing education can effectively support competency development. This model has potential for broader application and sustainability in preparing future nursing graduates for professional certification.

Abstract

Pneumonia masih menjadi penyebab utama kematian balita di Indonesia, termasuk di Kota Jambi. Rendahnya pengetahuan dan sikap ibu berkontribusi pada tingginya kasus pneumonia.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap ibu tentang pencegahan pneumonia pada balita di Posyandu wilayah kerja Puskesmas Paal V Kota Jambi. Metode penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel 101 ibu balita dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen berupa kuesioner pengetahuan (20 soal) dan sikap (20 pernyataan). Data dianalisis menggunakan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian ini sebagian besar responden memiliki pengetahuan kurang (100%) pada saat pre-test. Sikap responden menunjukkan mayoritas negatif dalam upaya pencegahan pneumonia. Adapun kesimpulan pengetahuan dan sikap ibu tentang pencegahan pneumonia pada balita masih rendah, sehingga diperlukan upaya edukasi kesehatan yang lebih inovatif dan menarik.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) stated that Indonesia is ranked first in the position of bullying cases in ASEAN with 84% confirmed in 2023, and according to data from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Bullying cases are quite a worrying issue in the school environment. Data records that there will be at least 1,478 cases of bullying reported in 2023. Bullying makes it difficult for children to interact well in their social environment and this can hinder the child's development process. This research was conducted to identify the relationship between bullying behavior and social interactions in school-age children at SDN 22, Jambi City. The research method used was quantitative research using a cross sectional approach. The research population was students of SDN 22 Jambi City grades IV, V, VI, totaling 103 samples taken using total sampling techniques. This research uses a questionnaire instrument. The analytical test used is Spearman Rho. The results of the research show that generally the bullying behavior data is in the low category of 96 respondents (93.2%) and most social interactions are in the good category of 80 respondents (77.7%). The test results obtained were (p 0.01<0.05). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between bullying behavior and social interaction in school-age children at SDN 22 Jambi City. It is hoped that the results of the research will be used as material for consideration by schools in providing guidance and counseling support services, so that students can understand the limits of social interaction.

Abstract

Sindrom nefrotik merupakan sekumpulan gejala yang mengindikasi ginjal tidak bekerja secara normal yang biasanya terjadi ketika glomerulus rusak sehingga menyebabkan terlalu banyak protein yang bocor dari darah ke dalam urin. Penyakit ini merupakan salah satu penyakit ginjal yang paling sering menyerang anak-anak sehingga mengakibatkan anak harus menjalani hospitalisasi. Hospitalisasi dapat mengakibatkan reaksi yang tidak adaptif dan mengakibatkan anak mengalami kecemasan. Salah satu hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi kecemasan anak yaitu dengan melakukan terapi bermain puzzle. Tujuan penelitian dengan penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan terapi bermain puzzle terhadap tingkat kecemasan anak akibat hospitalisasi pada anak dengan sindrom nefrotik di Bangsal Anak RSUD Raden Mattaher Jambi. Penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan ini merupakan studi kasus yang meliputi proses keperawatan. Jumlah sampel dalam penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan ini yaitu sebayak 1 anak yang mengalami kecemasan akibat hospitalisasi. Berdasarkan penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan yang telah dilakukan, saat dilakukan pengkajian awal, tingkat kecemasan anak berada dalam tingkat kecemasan dengan gejala berat. Setelah dilakukan implementasi selama 3 hari, tingkat kecemasan anak menurun menjadi kecemasan dengan gejala ringan. Terapi bermain puzzle mampu menurunkan tingkat kecemasan pada anak akibat hospitalisasi di Bangsal Anak RSUD Raden Mattaher Jambi.

Abstract

Bronkopneumonia adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri, virus, jamur, atau benda asing sehingga terjadi peradangan pada paru dan menyebabkan gejala seperti panas tinggi, gelisah, dispnea, pernapasan cepat, muntah, diare, serta batuk. Bronkopneumonia yang dialami pada anak dapat menyebabkan peningkatan sekret sehingga timbul masalah seperti bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif. Masalah keperawatan tersebut dapat dilakukan secara mandiri yaitu terapi pursed lips breathing dan dilakukan secara kolaborasi yaitu terapi inhalasi. Tujuan penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai terapi pursed lips breathing terhadap saturasi oksigen pada anak dengan bronkopneumonia di Bangsal Anak RSUD Raden Mattaher Jambi. Penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan ini adalah studi kasus yang meliputi proses keperawatan. Jumlah sampel dalam penerapan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan ini yaitu 1 anak dengan bronkopneumonia. Berdasarkan Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) dalam proses keperawatan yang telah dilakukan, hasil secara keseluruhan selama 3 hari implementasi didapatkan bahwa terdapat perubahan setelah pemberian terapi pursed lips breathing terhadap status oksigenasi pada anak dengan bronkopneumonia. Dimana didapatkan peningkatan saturasi oksigen, perubahan frekuensi napas, sesak berkurang, namun masih terdapat bunyi napas ronkhi. Dari hasil evaluasi penerapan terapi pursed lips breathing dengan modifikasi tiup balon terhadap status oksigenasi pada anak dengan bronkopneumonia menunjukkan efektif untuk dilakukan.

Abstract

Stunting terjadi akibat kurangnya asupan gizi dalam waktu yang cukup lama, sehingga mengakibatkan gangguan pertumbuhan pada anak yaitu tinggi badan anak lebih rendah dari standar usianya. Di Indonesia prevalensi stunting cukup tinggi dan dikabupaten Kerinci prevalensi tertinggi ada di Kecamatan Air Hangat Timur. Stunting berisiko pada hambatan pertumbuhan fisik, kerentanan terhadap penyakit, dan menghambatan perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kejadian stunting dengan perkembangan anak usia 3–5 tahun di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sungai Tutung. Jenis penelitian survei dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 64 responden. Sampel dipilih menggunakan metode Cluster Random Sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Dari hasil penelitian sebagian besar balita stunting memiliki perkembangan suspect (55,6%) dan sebagian besar balita tidak stunting memiliki perkembangan normal (75,7%). Hasil analisis menggunakan uji chi square diperoleh nilai signifikan yaitu 0,002 lebih kecil dari ? (0,05). Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kejadian stunting dengan perkembangan anak usia 3-5 tahun di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Sungai Tutung. Disarankan bagi petugas kesehatan untuk memberikan dukungan kepada ibu balita dan memberikan stimulasi kepada anak agar perkembangan anak optimal.
