Abstract

Introduction: A developmental process always accompanies a child's growth. Children whose growth is good will experience good development as well. Pre-school children begin to be taught activities related to academics, namely recognising letters and numbers, counting, memorising prayers and songs, writing and even reading. These academic abilities must be based on the readiness or maturity of the child's development of gross motor, fine motor, observation, speech and social. To make pre-school children become children who are ready at the next level of education, it is necessary to stimulate proper development by training many children to do physical activities. And to detect children's development, there needs to be an instrument that is fast, easy and precise, one of which is the SDIDTK application based on android. Research objective to determine the effectiveness of physical activity and SDIDTK application based on android on the motor development of PAUD children. Methods: experimental with a total sample of 50 people divided into control and treatment groups. Results: The group that was given physical activity treatment and SDIDTK measurement assistance based on android to parents had better motor development than the control group. Conclusion: physical activity is beneficial for children to improve motor development.

Abstract

The younger generation, as the nation's future, must receive special attention, particularly regarding health. The health development of children and adolescents significantly impacts a country's resilience. One approach to enhancing physical activity in schools is through the concept of physical literacy. Similar to general literacy, physical literacy aims to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of physical activity for health. This concept is intended to be maintained throughout life and significantly influences an individual's participation in physical activities. Consequently, this community service program aims to foster physical literacy, increase awareness of the benefits of physical activity for health, and provide enjoyable physical activity experiences. The program was conducted at the Indonesian Master's School with 32 participants aged 12-15. Activities included the physical literacy assessment by filling out a questionnaire, anthropometric measurements, health education, gymnastics, games, providing a poster, and a follow-up plan in the form of health promotion through the digital platform. The results of physical activity assessment and evaluation through pre-test and post-test indicated that participants were aware of the importance of physical activity. Although awareness of physical activity is good among the majority of participants, the application of physical activity in daily life needs to be improved. In fact, Indonesian people tend to engage in low levels of physical activity, which can lead to increased rates of obesity as well as the risk of other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Abstract

Introduction: In order to deliver quality care to patients and clients, physiotherapists should implement Evidence Based Practice (EBP) in the area of clinical services. There has been little research into the adoption of EBP among physiotherapists in Indonesia. Aims: This study aims to investigate the attitudes, knowledge, and practice of physiotherapists in Indonesia regarding EBP. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional research approach was used to assess physiotherapists' attitudes, knowledge, and practice in Indonesia. An online self-administered questionnaire-based survey containing validated Indonesian versions of the Evidence Based Practice Questionnaire (EBPQ) and sociodemographic variables was distributed to physiotherapists via social media. Results: The questionnaire was completed by 156 physiotherapists, with 73 (46.8 %) men and 83 (53.35 %) women participating. The total EBP Questionnaire (EBPQ) average score was 127.67, with a mean of 5.31 out of 7 (SD = 0.96). The attitude (5.23, S D= 0.95) had the highest EBP score, followed by knowledge (5.25, SD=1.01) and practice (5.23, SD=1.30). Education level (p = 0.001), professional category (p = 0.002), and clinical instructor (p = 0.024) were the characteristics related with increased EBP performance. Conclusion: In summary, physiotherapists in Indonesia have positive attitudes, knowledge, and practices towards EBP. Higher education levels, working as a clinician and educator, and teaching clinical students may all help to enhance EBP implementation.

Abstract

A sedentary lifestyle leading to obesity is one of the contributing factors to high blood pressure. Excessive fat can result in tissue dysfunction and is a key factor in the development of hypertension. Military personnel are expected to maintain good health and physical fitness. This study aimed to investigate the connection between Body Mass Index (BMI), central obesity, and blood pressure (BP) among Battalion X members. Methodology: A cross-sectional quantitative approach was employed with a sample size of 62 individuals. The data included height, weight, and waist circumference of the participants. Spearman's rho test was used for data analysis. The hypothesis testing indicated a significant relationship between BMI and central obesity with blood pressure, as demonstrated by p < 0.05. The correlation coefficients were as follows: BMI and systolic BP (r = 0.293), BMI and diastolic BP (r = 0.431), central obesity and systolic BP (r = 0.433), and central obesity and diastolic BP (r = 0.390). In sum, there is a significant relationship between BMI and central obesity and blood pressure in members of Battalion X.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to find out the relationship between the level of physical activity and visceral fat and mental health in adolescents. Methods: The research method used is quantitative observation with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 353 adolescents in the village of Curug will participate in the study. The parameters used are the IPAQ-SF (International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form) to assess the level of physical activity, performance bioelectrical impedance, and the BDI II (Beck Depression Inventory II) questionnaire to assess mental health . Results: The 353 participants (250 women [70.8%] and 103 males [29.2%]). The average age (SD) is 20.5 (± 2,05) years. The level of physical activity has a correlation with the level of visceral fat (r = 0,67, p < 0,05). However, the level is not correlated with mental health. There is a relationship between the level of physical activity and visceral fat and mental health (r = - 0,32, p < 0,05). Conclusion: There is a small but significant inverse relationship between physical activity level, visceral fat, and adolescent mental health. Future research should focus on the prospective relationship between components of visceral fat and mental health in adolescents.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Physiotherapy is essential in addressing physical health issues and supporting recovery in patients with mental illness. This case report presents a physiotherapy intervention for a 32-year-old woman diagnosed with schizophrenia, who sustained calcaneal and lumbar vertebral fractures. She presented with left ankle edema, localized pain, and restricted joint mobility, resulting in reduced functional mobility and limitations in daily activities. While functional and clinical outcomes showed minimal improvement, pain levels decreased following the intervention. Keywords: Physiotherapy, Mental Illness, Schizophrenia, Ankle, Pain
