Abstract

This problem began with researchers' curiosity regarding the level of understanding of mathematics learning among mentally retarded students at SLB Marganingsih in terms of neuroscience. The aim of this research is to find out how mentally retarded students at SLB Marganingsih use a neuroscience approach. The type of research used in this research is a qualitative research method. Qualitative research methods will be used in this research to understand the experiences, perceptions, and understanding of SLB students in depth. This research was carried out at SLB Marganingsih, with the research subjects being six students in a class with intellectual disabilities. The variable in this research is the level of understanding of students in classes with intellectual disabilities at SLB Marganingsih in learning mathematics. The results of observational research on six children (NM, WN, AN, AR, AL, and ST), taking into account seven neuroscientific aspect factors, showed significant differences. The processing of mathematical information is different for each child, such as good mathematical understanding in NM, difficulty applying it in WN, and the need for a cheerful approach in AN. Brain limitations also play a role, such as limited memory in the left brain of WN, passive tendencies and difficulty adapting in AR, and childish characteristics in ST. Parental and teacher assistance, a learning environment, and various interactive learning methods are essential. Types of brain plasticity that continue to develop, as well as different IQ groups

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika seringkali dianggap sulit oleh siswa, terutama dalam geometri yang bersifat abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aktivitas pembelajaran matematika yang menggunakan GeoGebra 3D AR dan etnomatematika untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai bangun ruang dan motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) untuk mengembangkan dan menilai modul ajar yang dirancang untuk siswa dan guru. Modul ajar yang dikembangkan menunjukkan hasil validasi yang sangat baik dengan skor rata-rata 82%, yang menunjukkan bahwa materi yang disusun dengan GeoGebra 3D AR dan konteks budaya Monumen Jogja Kembali efektif dalam memvisualisasikan bangun ruang. Aktivitas ini berhasil membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep geometri secara lebih konkret dan menarik. Penilaian dari teman sejawat juga mengkonfirmasi keefektifan dan inovasi dalam aktivitas pembelajaran ini. Pengembangan modul ajar dengan GeoGebra 3D AR dan etnomatematika terbukti sangat layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi serta pemahaman siswa dalam materi bangun ruang

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aktivitas pembelajaran berbasis PMR dengan MathCityMap untuk mendukung kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP. Menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), penelitian melibatkan 16 siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 10 Sleman. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara guru, validasi media pembelajaran, tes, dan kuesioner siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas pembelajaran dengan MathCityMap yang dikembangkan menggunakan ADDIE. Pada tahap Analyze, dilakukan analisis kebutuhan belajar. Pada tahap Design, dipilih media pembelajaran dan disusun tes kriteria. Pada tahap Development, dilakukan pengembangan, validasi ahli, dan revisi. Pada tahap Implementation, dilakukan uji coba. Pada tahap Evaluation, ditinjau kualitas produk. MathCityMap valid (82,3%), praktis (77,7%), dan cukup efektif (62,25%) mendukung pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi datar.

Abstract

One of the important abilities in a person's cognitive is the ability of memory, one of which is short-term memory (STM). This study investigates the relationship between Short-Term Memory (STM) and math learning outcomes. The researcher conducts a literature review to gather information and then performs an experiment to measure STM in a class of grade X students in a private school in Bekasi City. The study discusses various information about STM and its connection to students' math learning outcomes. The researcher develops an instrument to measure memory span and administers a test to obtain STM scores, correlating with student learning outcomes using Pearson simple correlation analysis. The results reveal a very low correlation (r=0.104) between STM and grade X learning outcomes in this study. The study concludes that STM does not significantly impact students' learning outcomes since long-term memory is where learners store their general knowledge, school learnings, and personal memories. It suggests that students must review previously studied materials before being assessed to achieve optimal learning results. Other factors that affect learning outcomes include students' psychological factors like interest, intelligence, talent, motivation, and cognitive abilities.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika adalah suatu langkah pembelajaran yang dikemas dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar mencakup konsep dan materi matematika. Salah satu cara dalam mengaktifkan siswa adalah dengan memberikan pemahaman konsep matematika melalui pembelajaran kontekstual yang melibatkan kehidupan sehari-hari. Pembelajaran kontekstual melalui Gunung Merapi dapat menjadi pendekatan yang menarik dan relevan bagi siswa. Salah satu media pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah menggunakan Google Earth. Tujuan kajian ini adalah mengembangkan aktivitas pembelajaran kontekstual melalui konteks Gunung Merapi yang dapat optimalkan kemampuan siswa untuk berfikir kritis saat belajar matematika menggunakan Google Earth, serta mengetahui validasi atau evaluasi hasil pengembangan aktivitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE yang mencakup Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Hasil kajian ini, pembangunan aktivitas pembelajaran matematika kontekstual (gunung merapi) menggunakan Google Earth. Dalam materi geometri, luas permukaan dan volume sisi lengkung khususnya kerucut kelas IX (sembilan). Pengembangan ini dapat dikategorikan valid atau layak diterapkan pada pembelajaran untuk mengoptimalkan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis Google Earth.AbstractMathematics learning is a learning step that is packaged in teaching and learning activities including mathematical concepts and materials. One way to activate students is to provide an understanding of mathematical concepts through contextual learning that involves everyday life. Contextual learning through Mount Merapi can be an interesting and relevant approach for students. One of the learning media used is using Google Earth. The purpose of this study is to develop contextual learning activities through the context of Mount Merapi that can optimize students' ability to think critically when learning mathematics using Google Earth, as well as to find out the validation or evaluation of the results of the development of learning activities. This study uses the ADDIE model which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of this study, the development of contextual mathematics learning activities (Mount Merapi) using Google Earth. In geometry material, surface area and volume of curved sides, especially cones, class IX (nine). This development can be categorized as valid or feasible to be applied to learning to optimize critical thinking in mathematics learning based on Google Earth.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the history of Ramayana Ballet Prambanan performances, the performance of the second half of the AnomanObong scene, the philosophical meaning and characteristics of the second half of AnomanObong, the training of dancers of the second half of AnomanObong, and the fundamental activity of mathematics in the second half of AnomanObong. This qualitative research examined ethnomathematics in the cultural context of Ramayana Ballet Prambanan. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with validation through experts and triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis included data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed five mathematical activities in the history of Ramayana Ballet Prambanan, namely counting, locating, measuring, playing, and explaining. There are five mathematical activities in the second half performance of AnomanObong, namely: counting, locating, measuring, designing, and explaining. There existed four mathematical activities in the philosophical meaning of the second act of AnomanObong, namely counting, locating, designing, and explaining. The counting, locating, and measuring activities were present in all data classes and can be used for learning mathematics in the domains of numbers, algebra, geometry, and measurement. The designing activity was only present in the second, third, and fourth data classes, and can be applied in math learning.

Abstract

Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mindfulness dapat membantu murid mengelola stres, meningkatkan fokus, dan pada akhirnya berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian akademik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak latihan mindfulness terhadap peningkatan konsentrasi belajar dan prestasi murid SMP dalam pengajaran matematika, khususnya teknik pernapasan (deep breathing). Dalam penelitian ini strategi yang diterapkan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain One-Group Pretest-Posttest. Penelitian ini melibatkan adalah 15 murid SMP, dengan data diperoleh melalui kuesioner konsentrasi belajar sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada konsentrasi belajar murid setelah mengikuti latihan mindfulness, yang ditunjukkan hasil kuesioner sebelum latihan yaitu rata-rata sebesar 62 dan sesudah latihan rata-rata sebesar 66.4 ada peningkatan sebesar 4.4. Berdasarkan analisis kuantitatif peserta mindfulness mengalami peningkatan konsentrasi yang substansial jika dilihat dari hasil test sebelum dan sesudah latihan yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai t_stat -2.37, dan p_value 0.03 (p < 0.05). Hasil uji t, menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara dua kelompok data. Meskipun korelasi antara dua variabel berada pada tingkat tinggi (r = 0.43), hasilnya tidak substansial secara statistik (p>0.05). Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latihan mindfulness, khususnya teknik pernapasan, efektif dalam meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar matematika murid secara signifikan. Akan tetapi, korelasi antara peningkatan konsentrasi dan prestasi matematika belum cukup kuat untuk dianggap signifikan. Temuan ini memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap perancangan strategi pengajaran berbasis mindfulness untuk mendongkrak prestasi belajar murid.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keberhasilan mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah Kalkulus Lanjut berdasarkan perspektif neurosains. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan teknik uji korelasi untuk mengevaluasi hubungan antara variabel-variabel, seperti pengalaman belajar sebelumnya, memori kerja, pemecahan masalah, kecemasan matematika, dan dukungan sosial terhadap hasil akademik mahasiswa. Sampel terdiri dari 15 mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika yang mengikuti kelas Kalkulus Lanjut pada Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman sebelumnya, memori kerja, dan pemecahan masalah memiliki hubungan positif signifikan terhadap nilai akademik. Sebaliknya, kecemasan matematika dan lingkungan belajar yang tidak mendukung memberikan dampak negatif signifikan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan untuk merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dengan mempertimbangkan prinsip-prinsip neurosains, guna meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa di mata kuliah Kalkulus Lanjut.

Abstract

The country of Indonesia is rich in culture where there are elements of mathematics in it. One of these cultures is Ulos cloth with various motifs. The results of this study of mathematics in culture can then be implemented in contextual mathematics learning by paying attention to cultural background, which is expected to facilitate and motivate students. The purpose of this research is to explain and expose the existence of ethnomathematics-based learning methods that associate elements of a culture with mathematical learning. With the existence of a culture, every person or individual can know everything that is contained in that culture. By choosing a topic about the cultural diversity of communities in the region of North Sumatra about the customary clothing of Ulos Batak, which in this study explains the existence of ethnomatematics contained in the motifs of the fabric of the Ulos of the Tribe of Batak Toba used in the wedding ceremony. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research also reveals how mathematical concepts are reflected in the fabric motifs of the outline, such as transformation, symmetry, and balance. This research uses data analysis techniques i.e. reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The data collection technique is carried out with the method of literature study where it is done by searching from various sources about Batak Toba's Modern Clothing then reduced by selecting the necessary information. Research results show that ethnomatematics is present in a variety of fabric motifs, including Passamot, Pengantin, Holong, and Sadum. By understanding the interrelationship between mathematics and culture in the context of the textile fabric, mathematical learning can become more interesting and meaningful for students. The research also emphasizes the importance of understanding and preserving the cultural heritage of the Batak Toba tribe.
