Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of government expenditure on employment across Indonesia’s regional economies, incorporating private investment as a mediating variable and region as a moderating variable. Using data from 2010 to 2022, the analysis focuses on five categories of government spending: general, housing and settlement, economic, education, and health. A multigroup path analysis model is employed to examine both direct and indirect effects of these expenditures on employment. The results reveal that government spending has a stronger impact on employment in the western region compared to the eastern region. Regional differences significantly moderate the relationship between government expenditure and private investment, particularly in general, economic, education, and health spending. In contrast, housing and settlement expenditure consistently affect both regions. Furthermore, private investment significantly enhances employment, especially in the western provinces. These findings underscore the importance of accounting for regional disparities in fiscal policy design and provide valuable insights for developing more effective and equitable regional economic strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Early marriage has significant impacts on the reproductive health system, especially in adolescent females. The immaturity of reproductive organs and physical development increases the risk of adverse outcomes. Adolescents' reproductive organ immaturity and incomplete physical development increase risks of premature birth, infant disability, Low Birth Weight, infection, and anemia during pregnancy, which can potentially cause abortion, higher mortality, and hemorrhage risks due to underdeveloped uterine muscles. The purpose of this community service program aimed to educate junior high school students about the negative impact of early marriage on adolescent reproductive health The program employed socialization sessions, interactive discussions and evaluation. Evaluation was used to assess the level of knowledge through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Among 36 respondents, the pre-test results showed that the level of knowledge about the negative impact of early marriage on adolescent reproductive health was: 19 people (53%) in the poor category, 10 people (28%) in the moderate category, and 7 people (19%) in the good category. In the post-test results, 4 people (11%) were in the poor category, 3 people (8%) in the moderate category, and 29 people (81%) in the good category. The comparative results demonstrate an improvement in knowledge and understanding among junior high school students regarding the presented material. This activity was successfully conducted through effective collaboration.

Abstract

Purpose — The purpose of this study is to determine the convergence of economic growth in the regencies and cities of South Sulawesi.Method — The type of data utilized in this study is quantitative, sourced from secondary data obtained from the Indonesian central statistics agency/ Badan Pusat Statistik of the districts and cities within South Sulawesi Province. The convergence analysis in this study is divided into two categories, namely sigma convergence and beta convergence. The application of sigma convergence aims to assess the level of disparity based on economic growth.Result — The results of the sigma convergence analysis indicate that there has been sigma convergence in South Sulawesi Province from 2015 to 2022, as evident from the decreasing Unweighted Coefficient of Variation value. Furthermore, the analysis of beta convergence was conducted using both absolute convergence and conditional convergence models, focusing on the economic growth of all districts/cities in South Sulawesi. The findings also reveal that the average length of schooling does not have a significant effect on economic growth. However, investment demonstrates a significant impact on the economic growth of districts/cities within the province of South Sulawesi.Contribution — The academic contribution of this study lies in its novel focus on convergence analysis of economic growth in regions/cities within South Sulawesi Province, specifically investigating the potential catching-up process and convergence in rising per capita income, which has been relatively overlooked in prior research predominantly centered on overall economic development at regional or national levels.

Abstract

(1) Background: Bullying is a form of violence that often occurs in school environments and can have negative impacts on the psychological, social, and academic conditions of students. A lack of understanding among students regarding the forms, causes, and impacts of bullying leads to this behavior often being considered a normal part of social dynamics. Therefore, educational efforts are needed to enhance students' knowledge and awareness from an early age; (2) Purpose of the Study: to determine the effectiveness of health education in increasing the knowledge of students at SMP Negeri 19 Palu about bullying; (3) Methods: The activity was conducted on June 18, 2025, using interactive lecture methods, discussions, and question and answer sessions. Evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests on 19 students of class VIII B as respondents; (4) Results: The pre- test results show that 36.8% of students have a low level of knowledge, 42.1% have sufficient knowledge, and only 21.1% have good knowledge. After being given counseling, the post- test results showed a significant increase with 89.5% of students having good knowledge and the remaining 10.5% having sufficient knowledge. There are no more students in the low knowledge category; and (5) Conclusions: Health education is effective in increasing students' knowledge about bullying. This activity is expected to be a preventive effort in creating a safe school environment free from acts of violence.
