Abstract

Abstract                This research was conducted in March - April 2018 in Ketaping Beach, District ofPariaman City, West Sumatera Province. The study aims to identify the potential natural of area to be used as marine ecotourism, siteformulate strategies and assess to the role of stakeholders. The method used was survey method and station point was determined by purposive sampling. The result showed the Value of Conformity Index was 81.41 (Station I), 86.53 (Station II), 84.61 and (Station III). RespectivelyAn assessment of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of potential development of marine ecotourism of Ketaping Beach was obtained from observations at research sites, interviews and questionnaires. Ketaping Beach has the potential as a marine ecotourism area based on natural beauty of nature, culinary tour, and cultural activities. Ketaping beach has gentle coastal and sandy area full with transition vegetation that can attract tourist attention. The development of marine ecotourism object in Ketaping Beach can be done by 1) Spatial and area arrangement by establishing zonation system for marine tourism activities and activities undertaken by the community towards marine ecotourism activities and coastal environment management, 2) Creating job, reducing poverty level and preserving nature, 3) Utilizing the potential of natural resources, history, culture, accessibility of the region to attract visitors through the development and development of marine tourism with the concept of ecotourism through the stages of promotion.Keywords: Potential, Marine Ecotourism, SWOT Analysis, Ketaping Beach

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bivalve is benthic animal that lives on the bottom and surface of aquatic substrate. The community structure of bivalves is influenced by the changes in environmental factors. This research was conducted in July-August 2018 in the coastal waters of Nagalawan Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatera Province.The aims of the research were to determine the structure of the bivalve community which includes species, abundance, relative abundance, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index and distribution patterns. Sampling used the line transect method at 3 stations. The results of the study found 9 bivalve families consisting of 11 species. The abundance value obtained was in the range of 4.22-7.30 ind./m2. Diversity index values ranged from 1.21-1.6, which are classified as moderate, while the uniformity index value ranges from 0.18-0.26 which is unbalanced. The dominance index value ranged from 0.38-0.5, i.e there are species that dominate. The distribution pattern values ranged from 3.03-3.07 with clustered distribution patterns. Keywords: Bivalves, Community Structure, Nagalawan Village

Abstract

Abstract             Cerithidea quoyii clam is agastropod living in mangrove ecosystem, and knownasprotein source for Rupat people. This research was conducted in July 2018.The purpose of the study was to determine the population density and distribution patterns of C. quoyii in the mangrove forest of Cingam River, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province.The method used in this study was the survey method. The the research station was determined by purposive sampling method. The results showed that water quality parameters supported the life of C. quoyii, in which water temperatures ranged from 29 - 30°C, salinity ranged from 29-30 ppt, the pH value of the water was 7.Sediment organic matter was classified as high, ranging from 12.29 - 19.46%.The average population density between stations ranged from 1.22-4 ind/m2, the highest density was in station II and the lowest was in station III,while the average value between zones ranged from 0-5 ind/m2,the highest density is in the Lower zone and the lowest in the lower and middle zones of the intertidal zone. Keywords :Population Density, Distribution Pattern, Cerithidea quoyii

Abstract

ABSTRACTGeographical Information System (GIS) method is one of the methods that began to be used and developed in Indonesia in observing and analyzing spatial changes in an area. The study was conducted in March - April 2019 in Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. The purpose of the study was to analyze changes in land cover of mangrove vegetation and mangrove vegetation index based on images taken from different times at intervals of 5 years, namely from 1998 to 2018, the category of density obtained in the field was analyzed based on Minister of Environment Decree No. 201 of 2004 concerning Standard Criteria and Guidelines for Mangrove Damage Determination. The results showed that environmental ecological conditions support the existence of mangroves. Morphological identification was obtained by 11 species from 8 families of mangrove vegetation. The area of mangrove vegetation in 1998 was 9510 ha and the area of mangrove in 2018 was 1,779 ha. Over a period of 20 years (1998 - 2018) there was a change in the reduction in the area of mangroves covering an area of 7,731 ha, with a total of 81% of mangroves lost during the last 20 years. Tree density calculation data at 3 stations are 1622 ind / ha, 1,444 ind / ha and 2,133 ind / ha in the meeting category at station I and III and medium at station II. Puppies density at 3 stations namely 4,355 ind / ha, 6,444 ind / ha and 4,400 ind / haKeywords: Central Tapanuli Regency, Mangrove, Changes in Area, NDVI,Density.

Abstract

                                         ABSTRACT Literatures on macrofauna organisms attached to mangrove islimited. The purpose of this research is to obtain the informationon macrofauna organism within the mangrove ecosystem. The research was conducted in December 2017. method used was direct purposive sampling. Macrofauna organisms attached and mangrove type were identified using identification books. The results obtained indicate that the most dominant organisms belonged to molluscs and crustaceans. Seven gastropod species and two crustaeans were(Cerithideacingulata, Cerithideaquadrata, Neritalineate, Chicoreuscapucinus, Cassidulaaurisfelis, Achatinellamustelina, Echinolittorinavidua, BalanusspandLlyoplaxsp). Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Januari 2017 di perairan Muara Sungai Kampar dengantujuan untuk mengetahui asal-usul jenis material penyusun sedimen. Eckman Grabdigunakan untuk mengambil sampel dan dari sedimen dianalisis untuk menentukankomposisi dan kandungan bahan organik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisisedimen terdiri dari biogenous lumpurdan lithogenous. Komposisi Lithogenousterutama di perairan dan mika mendominasi kehadiran merata di setiap stasiun. Komposisitertinggi ditemukan di lokasi PT. WKS dan salah satu daerah yang mendapatkanpertama kalinya pengaruh air pasang, dari Muara Sungai Pulau Muda. Lithogenouspersentase yang terendah ditemukan di daerah yang dekat dengan kawasan mangrovedi mana stasiun memiliki komposisi yang tinggi dari sampah biogenous. Sementarastasiun yang mengandung bahan organik terendah adalah stasiun perairan pemukimanpulau muda. Perairan muara sungai kampar yang mengandung bahan organik yangtinggi karena aliran sungai membawa tingginya kandungan bahan organik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kondisi ekosistem hutan mangrove berdasarkanKriteria Baku Kerusakan Mangrove dan menyusun strategi pengelolaan ekosistemmangrove di Sungaitohor. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai denganMei 2017 di Desa Sungaitohor. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah metodesurvey, dimana setiap transek dibentang tali dari laut ke darat. Pada setiap zonasimangrove yang berada di sepanjang garis transek, diletakkan plot pohon berbentukbujur sangkar dengan ukuran 10 × 10 m2 dimana didalamnya terdapat petakan 5×5 m2untuk anakan dan 2×2 m2 untuk semai. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 11 jenis mangrove.Jenis mangrove yang dominan di lokasi penelitian adalah jenis Avicennia alba. Berdasarkankriteria baku kerusakan mangrove, kondisi mangrove dalam kondisi baikdimana kisaran kerapatan pohon adalah 666,67 - 2333,33 pohon/ha, substrat padadaerah hutan mangrove adalah lumpur berpasir. Rata-rata indeks keanekaragaman pohonrendah (H’= 0,74), diakibatkan tingkat abrasi pantai tinggi dan tumbuhan mangroveyang berasosiasi. Strategi konservasi dijelaskan bahwa hutan mangrove di DesaSungaitohor dalam kawasan yang dilarang dalam kepemilikan perseorangan, kawasanmangrove ini tidak diperbolehkan untuk membuka lahan, pemukiman, tambak ikan danpenebangan kayu mangrove secara bebas.

Abstract

Klorofil-a merupakan salah satu parameter oseanografi penting yang menentukan kelimpahandan sebaran populasi ikan. Penelititian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuidaerah penangkapan ikan dan kesesuaiannya dengan sebaran klorofil-a di perairan.Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di perairan Sungaitohor, Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti.Metode yang digunakan adalah survey. Penentuan titik sampling menggunakan metodepurposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel di lapangan telah dilaksanakan pada bulanFebruari 2017 dan analisis klorofil-a di laboratorium pada bulan Maret 2017. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan terdapat 4 titik daerah penangkapan ikan (DPI) di perairanSungaitohor. Konsentrasi klorofil-a di perairan berdasarkan analisis laboratorium berkisar0,878 - 7,356 μg/l dan berdasarkan analisis citra satelit Landsat 8 berkisar 0,806 –9,541 μg/l. Validasi terhadap kedua data menunjukkan hubungan yang sangat kuatdengan koefisien korelasi (r) = 0,8634 dan tidak berbeda secara siginifikan. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan tingkat kesesuaian DPI terhadap sebaran klorofil-a adalahsebesar 75 %.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2016 sampai Januari 2017 dikawasan Pelabuhan Palimbungan Ketek Batahan Kabupaten Mandailig Natal SumateraUtara dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan distribusi diatom epilitik berdasarkanjenis substrat (kayu, semen, dan batuan alam). Metode yang digunakan adalah metodesurvey dan analisis dilakukan di Laboratorium Biologi Laut Fakultas Perikanan danKelautan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diatom yang ditemukan sebanyak 10spesies. Diatom epilitik dengan kelimpahan tertinggi yaitu spesies Isthmia sp. Rata-ratakelimpahan diatom epilitik tertinggi antar substrat terdapat pada substrat kayu sebesar7.686,46 ind/cm2. Kemudian rata rata kelimpahan tertinggi antar plot bagian terdapatpada substrat batuan alam plot I, II, dan III bagian bawah dengan rata-rata nilai kelimpahanyaitu 2.951,05 ind/cm2. Nilai rata-rata indeks keanekaragaman jenis (H’) berkisardari 0,963 - 1,672. keseragaman jenis (E) berkisar antara 0,230 – 0,611. indeksdominansi diatom (D) berkisar dari 0,367 – 0,592.

Abstract

The research was conducted from July to December 2018 which aims to estimate the amount of carbon stock storage in wetland ecosystems that cover the near shore (mangrove) to upper land (peatland) in Sungai Tohor Village. Survey method was applied and sampling was done by non-destructive method that is without harvesting, so as not to change the ecological function of the forest. Data of carbon pool biomass was analysed and calculated in laboratory with allometric equations to extrapolate biomass. The results showed that the total carbon stock storage in the wetland ecosystem that covered the mangrove area to the peat area was equal to 51499.10 tons C / ha and was able to absorb CO2 by 70901.78 tons CO2/ ha. The largest total carbon deposits are in the mangrove region which is equal to 31525.83 tons C/ha, while the peat region has the ability to store lower carbon with a total value of 19973.27 tons C/ha.
