Abstract

City Branding is an important part of improving competitiveness, attracting investment, and tourists. City Branding is an interesting topic to review especially in the context of marketing the city. This research was conducted to determine the factors that can influence the perception of Surabaya youth towards City Branding of Surabaya City. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents and processed quantitatively. The method used is validity and reliability analysis, then continued with multiple linear regression Ordinary Least Square (OLS) model connected to descriptive analysis. It can be seen that Media and Information and Experience can be significant factors in shaping the perceptions of Surabaya youth towards Surabaya City branding. Surabaya youth who are often exposed to positive information about the city through various media tend to have a more favorable view of "Sparkling Surabaya". In addition, pleasant first-hand experiences, either in interacting with the community or in using facilities and infrastructure, also strengthen their positive perceptions. So the city government needs to pay attention to the quality of the content created, as well as develop various programs and facilities that attract the younger generation. Thus, the positive perception of "Sparkling Surabaya" can be strengthened and attract more interest in traveling.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of organizational culture and work discipline on deviant behavior in the workplace at a flexible packaging materials manufacturing company located in Sidoarjo Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 86 respondents, selected through purposive sampling based on the criterion of permanent employees who had been working for at least one year. Data were collected via a questionnaire using a Likert scale and document analysis, then analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that organizational culture plays a significant role in reducing the occurrence of deviant behavior in the workplace, as well-internalized values and norms can shape employee behavior in a more positive manner. On the other hand, work discipline is also involved in creating order, although its impact has not yet shown a significant influence. A strong organizational culture and consistent enforcement of work discipline can reduce the potential for deviant behavior, thereby enabling companies to maintain operational stability and enhance long-term effectiveness. This study also fills a gap in the literature, as most previous research has focused more on the influence of organizational culture and work discipline on performance rather than on deviant behavior in the workplace. These findings contribute theoretically by expanding our understanding of the factors influencing deviant behavior in the workplace, particularly within the manufacturing sector in Indonesia. Practically, the results of this study can serve as a guide for company management in developing more effective strategies to strengthen cultural values and work discipline systems, thereby reducing the risk of deviant behavior and improving work productivity.

Abstract

Nurses' job satisfaction is an important aspect of healthcare services because it influences the quality of care provided to patients. The high work demands faced by nurses make work stress one of the factors that is assumed to affect job satisfaction. However, the effect of work stress on nurses' job satisfaction in hospitals in Surabaya City still requires further investigation. This study aimed to analyze the effect of work stress on nurses' job satisfaction in hospitals in Surabaya City. This study employed a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 83 nurses working in hospitals in Surabaya City. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results showed that work stress had a positive and significant effect on nurses' job satisfaction. The findings indicate that work pressure at a manageable level can encourage nurses to perform their duties optimally, thereby increasing their job satisfaction. Therefore, hospitals need to pay attention to work stress management and create a supportive work environment to ensure that work pressure remains at a productive level, thereby improving nurses' job satisfaction and the quality of healthcare services.
