Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' perception of additional learning in order to improve official test scores, especially in official class students at Al Azhar Superior High School Medan. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with a total sampling technique, involving all official class students as respondents. The research instrument is in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire which includes indicators of student perception of the material, learning methods, the role of teachers, and the effectiveness of additional learning on the understanding and results of the official test try-out. The results showed an average perception score of 4.14, which was classified as a positive category. The indicators with the highest scores were program sustainability (4.5) and clarity of teacher explanations (4.4), while indicators with relatively low scores were an increase in try out scores (3.8). These findings indicate that students consider additional learning beneficial, not only in improving material comprehension, but also in building confidence in facing official tests. In conclusion, students' positive perceptions of additional learning contribute significantly to their academic and affective readiness, so this program is worthy of being maintained and further developed to support students' success in official school selection

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see the application of an open ended approach in mathematics learning in the quadrangular sub-pokok discussion in grade VII of Dwitunggal Tanjung Morawa Private Junior High School. This type of research is classroom action research. The data analysis technique in this study is using qualitative quantitative descriptive analysis methods, with the aim of finding out whether student learning outcomes have increased due to the application of the Open Ended approach. The results of this study were in the first cycle of student learning outcomes with an average score of 64.72,  where only 10 students or 27.78% were completed, while 26 students or 72.22% were incomplete. Pthere is a cycle II average score of 70.41, where only 16 students or 44.45% are complete, while 20 students or 55.55% are incomplete.  In system III the average score was 82.91, where student completeness increased, namely the number of students who completed  learning  increased  to  32  students  or  88.89%,  while  4  students  or 11,11% were incomplete.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is the ability to generate new ideas or ideas in producing ways of solving problems, even producing new ways as alternative solutions. Creative thinking is very important in learning mathematics. The results of the study in the control class, namely classes using conventional learning models obtained pretest data with an average of (36%) and posttest data of (52%). While the experimental class is a class that uses creative thinking skills with a reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by the Geogebra application. Pretest data obtained an average score (18%) and posttest data obtained an average score (70%). The results of the study (1) rcalculate = 0.000 and rtabel value = 0.355 can be seen that the value of rcalculate ≤ rtabe so that it can be concluded that in this study there was an increase in creative thinking skills using a reciprocal teaching model assisted by Geogebra application to the linear inequality material of two variables in students using conventional model

Abstract

Students often have difficulty understanding the concept of transformation geometry because it is abstract and has little to do with the real context. One of the causes is less meaningful and non-contextual learning. Therefore, one of the efforts that can be made is based on local wisdom. On the other hand, e-learning as an educational innovation has been widely used, but its application has not been optimal, especially to explain visual and abstract concepts such as transformation geometry. Therefore, an e-learning approach is needed that integrates contextual problems based on local wisdom to improve student understanding. This study aims to discuss the effect of e-learning learning based on local wisdom problems on improving students' understanding of transformation geometry. The research was conducted at Al-Azhar High School Medan, the subject of class XII research was 146 students who were selected by random sampling to select samples. The type of research used was quasi-experimental with a pretest-postest control group design. Data collection used a transformation geometry understanding ability test, including indicators of translation, dilation, reflection and rotation. The significance value of the Independent Sample t Test 0.00 < 0.05 means that there is a significant difference in the increase (gain) of experimental students with the control class. Through these results, it can be concluded that e-learning based on local wisdom problems has an effect on improving students' understanding of transformation geometry. The results of the dilatation indicator gain were 0.51, translation 0.54, reflection 0.47, rotation 0.44 with each category moderate.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of mathematics learning in improving student achievement at Al Azhar Superior High School Medan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The research subjects consisted of mathematics teachers, vice principals for curriculum, and students selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The validity of the data is carried out through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The results of the study show that mathematics learning management has been carried out well through systematic planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. In the planning stage, teachers prepare teaching modules, learning objectives, strategies, media, and evaluation instruments. In the implementation stage, teachers apply varied learning methods, conducive classroom management, and the use of digital media to increase student activity. At the evaluation stage, teachers conduct assessments, provide feedback, and remedial for students. Supporting factors include school facilities, teacher competence, and school support, while barriers include differences in students' abilities and limited learning time. Good learning management contributes to increasing students' motivation, activeness, and mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students' academic abilities through basic training in writing scientific papers at Al Azhar Superior High School Medan. The problems found show that most students still have difficulties in understanding the structure of scientific papers, the use of academic language, citation techniques, and the appropriate use of scientific references. Therefore, training activities are needed that are able to help students understand the basics of scientific writing systematically. Service activities are carried out in the form of training, practice, and assistance in writing simple scientific papers. The participants of the activity consisted of 30 students in grade XI of Al Azhar Superior High School Medan. The method of implementing activities includes lectures, discussions, demonstrations, direct practice, and participant assistance. The training material includes the definition of scientific writing, the structure of scientific papers, title and introduction writing techniques, the use of references, simple citation techniques, as well as academic ethics and plagiarism. Evaluation of activities is carried out through observation, results of participants' practices, and participant response questionnaires. Training has a positive impact on improving students' academic understanding and abilities. Most of the participants were able to compile simple scientific paper titles, understand the basic structure of scientific papers, and begin to understand the use of simple citation references and techniques. In addition, participants showed enthusiasm and active participation during the activity. This service activity also increases students' motivation and confidence in compiling simple scientific papers. Thus, basic training in writing scientific papers can be one of the effective efforts in improving academic literacy and scientific writing skills of students in the school environment.

Abstract

Kecemasan matematika merupakan fenomena psikologis yang umum dialami siswa dan dapat menghambat prestasi akademik serta perkembangan kemampuan kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kecerdasan emosional dalam mengatasi kecemasan matematika pada siswa melalui kajian literatur sistematis. Menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, penelitian ini mengkaji sepuluh artikel jurnal yang diterbitkan pada periode 2015-2025 dan terindeks Scopus atau SINTA untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat kecerdasan emosional dengan kemampuan siswa mengelola kecemasan matematika. Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan kemampuan mengatasi kecemasan matematika. Siswa dengan kecerdasan emosional tinggi memiliki kemampuan yang lebih baik dalam mengelola kecemasan matematika dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memiliki kecerdasan emosional rendah.

Abstract

Technological developments require teachers to integrate interactive digital media to improve the quality of 21st-century learning. However, early observations at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin showed that the utilization of web-based learning media was not optimal despite the availability of supporting facilities. This community service activity aims to introduce the Wordwall platform as an interactive learning media solution and to enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence in operating its features. The implementation method uses a learning-by-doing approach, which includes the preparation stage, workshops through lectures and demonstrations, independent practice in content creation, and evaluation. The results show a significant increase in teachers’ understanding and technical skills in developing digital learning media. Teachers were able to explore quiz features, games, and even printable formats (PDF) to overcome network constraints. In conclusion, this activity successfully narrowed the digital literacy gap and increased teacher motivation to create a more dynamic and student-centered learning environment at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid, practical and effective Canva Interactive Learning Media product based on Malay culture on the material of linear equation systems and inequalities of one variable. Also to determine the level of mathematical literacy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) development study. The subjects used in this study were 32 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. The analysis of the Canva interactive learning media value from media validator experts was 78.5% with very good or valid criteria for use. For material experts with a percentage of 78%, the category is Very valid. The classification of the teacher's practicality questionnaire meets very practical with a percentage of 94% and the student response questionnaire score gets an average of 90% categorized as very practical to use. Effectiveness is obtained from the results of the N-Gain calculation, a comparison value of 0.75 is obtained with a high or very good effective category. In other words, the development of Canva interactive learning media is said to be developing with a percentage of 90%. The level of literacy ability before being given learning media with an average value of 66.37 is classified as low, but after being given learning media, students were given a post-test so that the average score of students was 91.875. It can be concluded that the level of mathematical literacy ability in students of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin is classified as high.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis etnomatematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang dilaksanakan pada peserta didik kelas X SM Dharma Pancasila Medan. Data penelitian terdiri atas jawaban siswa dan hasil survey. Kemampuan literasi numerasi pesert didik dilihat melalui cara menjawab, pertama menafsirkan soal seperti menuliskan diketahui, ditanya, dan dijawab secara sistematis, kedua menyimpulkan dari hasil jawaban yang telah ditulis kemudian dirangkum dengan beberap kalimat. Hasil penelitian menginformasikan bahwa nilai thitung 2,39 > ttabel 1,995. Maka dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh secara signifikan pada kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik menggunakan LKPD berbasis etnomatematik Kemudian hasil angket untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap penggunan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika berpredikat sangat baik. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari hasil angket senilai 83% yang artiny pesert didik kelas X MIA1 termotivasi saat menggunakan LKPD. Hal ini diukur dari 3 (tiga) indikator yang digunakan untuk mengetahui respon dari pesert didik kelas X MI 1 SM Dharma Pancasil Medan. Adapun indikatornya seperti motivasi belajar, pemahaman konsep, dan percaya diri.AbstractThis research ms to determine the effect of using students' ethnomathematics-based worksheets to improve numeracy literacy skills. This type of research is correlation with quantitative pproach carried out on class X students t SM Dharm Pancasila Medan.. Research dat consists of student nswers nd survey results. Students' numeracy literacy bilities re seen through how they nswer, first interpreting questions such s writing down what they know, being sked nd nswering systematically, secondly concluding from the results of the nswers that have been written nd then summarizing them in several sentences. The research results indicate that the tcount value is 2.39 > ttable 1.995. So it can be concluded that there is significant influence on the numeracy literacy skills of students using ethnomathematics-based LKPD. Then the results of the questionnare to determine students' responses to the use of ethnomathematics-based LKPD were rated s very good. This can be seen from the questionnare results which re 83%, which means that class X MIA1 students re motivated when using LKPD. This is measured from 3 (three) indicators used to determine the response of class X MI 1 SM Dharm Pancasila Medan students. The indicators include learning motivation, understanding of concepts, nd self-confidence.
