Abstract

The goal of this research is to assess how students' mathematical literacy is affected by a realistic mathematics education approach supported by a media blog. Of the 90 students grade 7 Laboratories of MTs UINSU Medan as a population, a total of 68 students served as the sample. The sample consist of two classes, one class as the experimental class where RME was implemented, and the second class as the control class where conventional learning that is Direct Instruction was applied. The instrument used was a test of mathematical literacy skills in the form of a pre-test and a post-test in narrative form on Algebra material. The methodology used in this study is quantitative. Independent sample t-test in SPSS 25 is used to analyze the data. The findings indicated that compared to students who received traditional instruction (Direct Instruction), those who received RME-based instruction showed statistically significant gains in mathematical literacy (P-value 0.035<0.05).

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematis siswa Indonesia masih rendah dan tertinggal jauh dari negara lain. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa, yang mengacu pada kemampuan setiap orang untuk memahami dan menerapkan matematika dalam berbagai konteks yang terhubung dengan alam, masyarakat, dan budaya. Abstrak menjelaskan secara singkat tujuan dan hasil penelitian. Penelitian dilakukan di SD YAPSI Medan tahun pembelajaran 2022/2023 ganep. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas V-A SD YAPSI Medan. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif yang mendeskripsikan literasi matematika pada materi kecepatan. Ada tiga tahapan prosedur yang dilalui yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan analisis. Objek penelitian adalah pengenalan literasi matematika pada materi kecepatan. Teknik pengumpulan menggunakan dokumentasi, rekaman video, data tertulis dan wawancara. Instrument yang digunakan adalah foto, lembar tes tertulis dan lembar catatan di lapangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan triangulasi untuk mendeskripsikan peran dari aktivitas yang telah didesain selama proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian kemampuan literasi matematika kelas V-A SD YAPSI termasuk ‘’Tinggi”. Dari 35 siswa, 29 siswa memahami soal literasi matematika dan 6 siswa tidak memahami soal literasi matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kontekstual berbantuan graphing calculator dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas VIII MTs Nurus Salam terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu jumlah seluruh kelas VIII MTs Nurus Salam Deli Tua berjumlah 240 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-2 MTs  Nurus Salam sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-4 MTs Nurus Salam sebagai kelas control dengan jumlah seluruh sampel 60 siswa, karena kedua kelas tersebut memenuhi criteria dari populasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Data yang telah terkumpul selanjutnya akan dianalisis dengan cara menyusun data pretest dan posttest dalam bentuk tabel, menghitung nilai rata-rata, menghitung standar deviasi, menghitung uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Kontekstual Berbantuan Graphing Calculator Terhadap Kemampuan Pemacahan Masalah Matematis siswa MTs Nurus Salam Kelas VIII Tahun Pembelajaran 2022-2023. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji t diperoleh thitung>ttabelyaitu (8,038>1,580).

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is the ability to generate new ideas or ideas in producing ways of solving problems, even producing new ways as alternative solutions. Creative thinking is very important in learning mathematics. The results of the study in the control class, namely classes using conventional learning models obtained pretest data with an average of (36%) and posttest data of (52%). While the experimental class is a class that uses creative thinking skills with a reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by the Geogebra application. Pretest data obtained an average score (18%) and posttest data obtained an average score (70%). The results of the study (1) rcalculate = 0.000 and rtabel value = 0.355 can be seen that the value of rcalculate ≤ rtabe so that it can be concluded that in this study there was an increase in creative thinking skills using a reciprocal teaching model assisted by Geogebra application to the linear inequality material of two variables in students using conventional model

Abstract

Education in Indonesia is undergoing transformation through the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum which aims to provide flexibility in learning, improve 21st century competencies, and integrate local values. This research aims to understand the management of the Independent Learning Curriculum at Al-Azhar Superior High School Medan, including planning, implementation, and evaluation strategies. The research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study, involving school principals, teachers, students, and education staff as research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, documentation studies, and qualitative analysis of the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study show that Al-Azhar Medan High School uses a student needs-based approach with a focus on developing individual talents, interests, and abilities through technology-based learning methods and special religious programs. The implementation of the curriculum includes project-based learning to improve students' critical thinking skills, with the support of modern infrastructure. Curriculum evaluation is carried out collaboratively, involving teachers as direct evaluators and students as feedback givers through reflections and evaluation-based projects. This study concludes that the management of the Independent Learning Curriculum at Al-Azhar Medan High School has created an innovative learning environment, relevant to the demands of the 21st century, and centered on the development of students' potential holistically.

Abstract

The ability to count quickly is an important basic skill in learning mathematics, especially for Vocational High School (SMK) students who are prepared for the world of work. However, many students still experience difficulties in solving math problems efficiently due to low quick counting skills, lack of implementation of innovative learning strategies, and low motivation to learn mathematics. This research aims to provide training on quick counting strategies to students of SMK Telkom 1 Medan to improve their competence in solving math problems quickly and accurately, as well as change their mindset towards mathematics. The research method used is training, which consists of several stages, namely problem identification, learning strategy design, training implementation, and evaluation of training results. The results of the study show that students show high enthusiasm in participating in this training. In addition, there is a significant change in the mindset of students, from initially considering mathematics as a difficult and boring subject to more fun and challenging. The evaluation of the training results also showed an improvement in students' quick counting skills, both in terms of speed and accuracy of problem solving. Thus, this quick counting strategy training has proven to be effective in improving students' mathematical competence, building their confidence, and having a positive impact on their readiness in the academic and work worlds. The success of this program can be a model for other schools in improving their quick numeracy skills and interest in learning mathematics among vocational school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk instrumen tes pada materi bangun datar persegi dan persegi panjang kelas VII yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengembangan Research and Development (R&D) model Plomp.Model penelitian ini menggunakan team game tournament (TGT) dan menggunakan aplikasi kahoot! untuk membantu dalam pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VII MTs Al Mukhlishin Tanjung Morawa yang berjumlah 18 siswa. Analisis nilai instrumen test dari para validator diperoleh nilai indeks dari validasi RPP: 0,81 dengan kategori validitas sangat tinggi atau sangat valid; nilai indeks dari validasi ahli media: 0,86 dengan kategori validitas sangat tinggi atau sangat valid; nilai indeks dari validasi ahli materi: 0,78 dengan kategori validitas tinggi atau valid dan nilai indeks dari validasi ahli tes: 0,83 dengan kategori validitas sangat tinggi atau sangat valid. Hasil angket peserta didik memenuhi kriteria kuat atau praktis dengan persentase 87,00% yang menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes berbasis budaya melayu memiliki kualitas praktis. Keefektifan diperoleh dari hasil perhitungan skor siswa diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 72,3, dengan variasi antara 60 hingga 89 sehingga penggunaan instrumen test berbasis budaya melayu efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid, practical and effective Canva Interactive Learning Media product based on Malay culture on the material of linear equation systems and inequalities of one variable. Also to determine the level of mathematical literacy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) development study. The subjects used in this study were 32 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. The analysis of the Canva interactive learning media value from media validator experts was 78.5% with very good or valid criteria for use. For material experts with a percentage of 78%, the category is Very valid. The classification of the teacher's practicality questionnaire meets very practical with a percentage of 94% and the student response questionnaire score gets an average of 90% categorized as very practical to use. Effectiveness is obtained from the results of the N-Gain calculation, a comparison value of 0.75 is obtained with a high or very good effective category. In other words, the development of Canva interactive learning media is said to be developing with a percentage of 90%. The level of literacy ability before being given learning media with an average value of 66.37 is classified as low, but after being given learning media, students were given a post-test so that the average score of students was 91.875. It can be concluded that the level of mathematical literacy ability in students of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin is classified as high.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective Malay culture-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the set theory material for seventh-grade students. The study uses the 4-D Research and Development (R&D) model. The subjects of this research were 32 students from the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. The analysis of the LKPD scores by the validators resulted in an index of 0.96 from the material expert, categorized as high or very valid, an index score of 0.96 from the media expert, also categorized as high or very valid, and an index score of 0.93 from the language expert, categorized as high or valid. The teacher's questionnaire classification met the criteria of "very good" with an average score of 4.8 out of a maximum score of 5.00. The student questionnaire results met the criteria of "strong" or practical with a percentage of 86.09%, indicating that the Malay culture-based LKPD has practical quality. The effectiveness was obtained from the N-gain calculation, with an average of 0.77, categorized as high, showing that the Malay culture-based LKPD is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of e-learning learning based on local wisdom problems on improving the character of student discipline at Al-Azhar High School Medan. The subject of the study was a student of Al-Azhar High School Medan grade XII. The research method used is descriptive with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data was collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of grade XII students who were selected purposively, with a total of 146 students. The results of the study show that the application of the e-learning learning model based on local wisdom problems has a positive impact on improving student discipline, especially in the aspects of technology use, ethics and social interaction, as well as involvement in local culture-based learning. The findings indicate that the integration of local cultural values into e-learning not only enriches teaching materials, but also increases students' motivation, responsibility, and independence in managing the learning process. The practical implications of this research can be used as a basis for the development of innovative learning methods that combine technology and local wisdom to improve the quality of character education in the school environment.
