Abstract

This study aims to produce a math learning e-module based on the Jucama learning model on valid SMP class VIII statistics material. This research was development research with the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students at one of the Palembang State Middle Schools. Data collection techniques used were interviews and validation sheets. Validity data was obtained based on comments and suggestions from the validators. The results of this study indicate that the developed e-module is declared valid based on the validator's comments and suggestions.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe students' ability to understand concepts using the guided discovery learning model in learning statistics material. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental with a one-shot case study design. The data collection technique used consisted of a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the form of a description of 7 test questions and interviews. The ability to understand concepts can be seen from the analysis of students' answers to test questions given to 28 students whose research subjects were class VIII students at SMP Negeri 46 Palembang. From the results of this test, interviews were then conducted with 4 students who received ability scores in three categories of low, medium and high. The results of this research show that more than 20 students have met the indicators of ability to understand concepts with an average answer of 80% -93% with an average score of "83.88", a very good assessment criterion.

Abstract

This study explores the role of habits of mind and gender differences in shaping students' mathematical understanding, focusing on pseudo-understanding. Using a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, the study involved 57 first-semester students of the Mathematics Education program at one of the public universities in Indonesia. Data were collected through mathematical concept comprehension tests, questionnaires on habits of mind, and semi-structured interviews. Three mathematics education experts validated the research instruments prior to their use. Quantitative data analysis was carried out descriptively to identify patterns of relationships among conceptual understanding, thought habits, and gender differences, while qualitative data were analyzed using a thematic approach. The results show that mind habits such as perseverance, cognitive flexibility, and reflection are essential in reducing pseudo-comprehension. Gender differences affect how students interact with mathematics, where stereotypes can hinder the development of strong habits of mind. This research highlights the importance of a pedagogical approach that emphasizes conceptual understanding and creates an inclusive classroom environment to diminish the risks of pseudo-understanding and gender disparities in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Mutqin Al-Muyassar method on improving students’ Qur’an memorization at SDIT Mufidatul Ilmi, Banyuasin Regency. The research used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The subjects consisted of 30 fifth-grade students enrolled in the tahfidz (Qur’an memorization) program. Data were collected through memorization tests (pretest and posttest), classroom observations, and student questionnaires. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to determine the significance of improvement in memorization performance after applying the Mutqin Al-Muyassar method. The results revealed a significant increase in students’ Qur’an memorization ability after using the Mutqin Al-Muyassar method. The average pretest score of 59.2 increased to 84.7 in the posttest, with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that the Mutqin Al-Muyassar method effectively enhances students’ fluency, tajwid accuracy, and memorization retention. Moreover, 93% of students reported higher motivation and enjoyment in participating in the tahfidz sessions due to the engaging and structured nature of the method. Therefore, this method can be recommended as an effective learning strategy in Islamic elementary schools to foster a generation that loves and memorizes the Qur’an wholeheartedly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of audio-visual learning media in improving the understanding of prayer material for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 74 Palembang. The type of research used is quantitative research with a Quasi-Experimental design of One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted of 30 fourth-grade students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest), questionnaires, and observations of student learning activities. The results showed that the use of audio-visual learning media had a significant effect on improving student understanding. The average value of learning outcomes increased from 58.4 in the pretest to 83.1 in the posttest, with the results of the paired t-test showing a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that audio-visual media is effective in helping students understand the procedures, readings, and meaning of prayer. In addition, students became more active, enthusiastic, and able to practice prayer movements correctly. Thus, it can be concluded that audio-visual learning media is an effective, engaging, and relevant learning strategy for improving elementary school students' understanding of prayer, particularly at SD Negeri 74 Palembang.
