Abstract

A study has been carried out on the estimation of X-ray dose on hereditary effects on conventional radiography. The research was conducted at the Bali Academy of Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapy Engineering using a Raysafe X-Ray Multimeter. Secondary data was obtained in the form of results of checking the output voltage (kV), exposure time (ms) and exposure (mGy). The data obtained are then grouped according to the voltage used. The data is used to calculate the Entrance Surface Dose (ESD) value, which is then used to find the value of the Hereditary effect on the examination of each organ. In this study, the lowest ESD value was found at the use of a voltage of 40 kV, namely 0.3737 mGy, while the highest ESD value was at the use of a voltage of 80 kV, which was 0.7328 mGy. Based on the calculation of hereditary effects for generation I has the highest probability compared to generation II, this is very dependent on the ability of cells after exposure to radiation. Cells in general can make natural repairs. The longer the time after exposure to radiation, the more cells have the opportunity to repair the effects of radiation. So the probability of the risk of hereditary effects in generation II will be smaller.

Abstract

It has been investigated the effect of field of view (FOV) on image quality produced by a CT Scan using the noise uniformity method with a phantom head. The FOV variations used are 180, 200, 220, 240 and 260 mm. The exposure time current and tube voltage used are 220 mAs and 130 kV, while the scan length and slice thickness used were 40 mm and 3 mm. Analysis of the effect of FOV variation on noise uniformity is determined by the standard deviation value obtained when performing ROI. Based on the standard deviation value, which shows that FOV variation affects the noise uniformity value, where the large increase in FOV, the noise uniformity is getting smaller and the resulting image quality is getting better

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effective dose to critical organs in head CT scans at RSUD Bali Mandara and analyse the difference in effective dose between male and female patients and compare it with BAPETEN's normal threshold. Secondary data including current, voltage, CTDIvol, and DLP were collected and grouped by gender. The effective dose was calculated by multiplying DLP by the conversion factor K and CTDIvol by the organ weight factor (WT). The mean effective dose of male patients was 4.35 ± 0.68 mGy, while that of female patients was 4.00 ± 0.53 mGy. The effective dose of critical organs for males was 0.642 mGy and for females 0.613 mGy, with higher doses for males. Statistical analysis using t-test shows the value of tcount < ttable, which indicates that the effective dose in head CT scan examination at RSUD Bali Mandara is still within normal limits according to the BAPETEN DRL standard Number: 1211/K/V/2021.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on radiation dose rate analysis in the CT-SCAN area of the radiology room at RSU Mandara Bali. The data used in this research is quantitative data observed from the radiation rate from the CT-SCAN aircraft. This study aims to determine the radiation dose rate in the radiology area and its rationalization based on regulations regarding radiation NBD (dose limit values) that apply to occupational safety and health. The research data is the actual radiation dose rate determined from the dose rate and calibration factors. The results of data calculations show that the highest dose rates are respectively at T2, 30 cm, 50 cm and 100 cm (door) with values of 1.95, 0.94 and 0.05 μSv/year, while the lowest dose rates are respectively at T4, 30 cm, 50 cm and 100 cm (waiting room) with values of 0.08, 0.06 and 0.05 μSv/year. The research results show that the dose rate at each measurement point is still considered safe for radiation workers where the NBD received is still below 20 μSv/year, while the dose rate is classified as safe for the general public at measuring distances of 50 cm and 100 cm, where the NBD received is below 1 μSv/year assuming the community concerned acts as a patient or patient's family with an interest in the radiology room area.

Abstract
