Abstract

his study analyzes the management of teaching factory programs in the hospitality sector to improve the quality of vocational high school graduates, which has not been optimal across planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. Using George R. Terry’s management theory and a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal: (1) Planning has been well-executed, focusing on goal setting, competency strategies, teaching module preparation, and facility analysis; (2) Organizing involves systematic determination of personnel, infrastructure, and student roles, aligned with industrial needs and school regulations; (3) Implementation follows established standard operating procedures to ensure competency-based training; and (4) Supervision includes ongoing monitoring and evaluation to ensure alignment with plans and promote continuous improvement. Overall, teaching factory management has contributed to graduate competency development aligned with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) and industry demands. Key supporting factors include professional human resources, adequate facilities, student involvement, and support from the government and industry sectors.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the potential of zakat in Indonesia of Rp 327 trillion per year, but the current collection is still Rp 33 trillion per year. This means that only 10.09% of the potential collection is carried out by OPZ (Zakat Management Organization). One of the important pillars in zakat management is amil zakat, so this study aims to describe and analyze the management of zakat management training in improving the competence of amil. This study uses George Robert Terry's management theory and management functions. This study also uses the Kirkpatrick Model in program evaluation formulated by Donald Kirkpatrick. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, data collection techniques with interviews, observation and documentation. The technical analysis of this research data uses data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and data verification. The results of this study are the planning, organization and implementation of zakat management training in improving the competence of amil at the zakat management training institution are in accordance with the elements in improving the competence of amil. Evaluation of zakat management training at zakat management training institutions only conducted reaction evaluation and learning evaluation. Behavior evaluation and outcome evaluation have not been conducted by zakat management training institutions. The conclusion in this study is that the management of zakat management training at zakat management training institutions is in accordance with the principles of GR. Terry management and is based on the value system of Sanusi so that it can improve the competence of amil, but there are still some shortcomings in the evaluation of the Kirkpatrick Model program, especially behavioral evaluation and outcome evaluation.

Abstract

Principal leadership management plays a crucial role in improving graduate quality within educational institutions. However, significant gaps persist between theoretical frameworks and practical implementation, particularly in resource-limited private school contexts. This study aims to analyze principal leadership management implementation across planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating functions to identify factors affecting graduate quality improvement in Indonesian private junior high schools. This qualitative descriptive case study was conducted in two purposively selected private junior high schools in West Java, Indonesia: SMP IT Al-Istiqomah and SMP Karya Pembangunan 2 Cipongkor. Data collection employed triangulation techniques including in-depth semi-structured interviews with principals, teachers, and administrative staff, participant observation of leadership activities, and comprehensive document analysis of institutional records. Thematic analysis was utilized to identify patterns and relationships within the collected data, with validation strategies ensuring credibility, dependability, and confirmability. Findings reveal mixed effectiveness in principal leadership management implementation. Planning processes successfully establish vision and mission but lack external partnership development and systematic evaluation mechanisms. Organizational structures demonstrate clear role definition while experiencing competency-placement mismatches in 60% of key positions. Implementation shows effective operational coordination but severely limited teacher professional development, with only 30% receiving structured training annually. Evaluation practices maintain regular program assessment yet provide inadequate teacher supervision focused predominantly on administrative rather than developmental purposes. Principal leadership management demonstrates partial effectiveness across managerial functions, with significant improvements needed in external partnership development, competency-based human resource placement, systematic teacher professional development, and developmental supervision practices. Resource constraints, limited external support, and communication challenges emerge as primary obstacles requiring collaborative solutions involving multiple stakeholders to achieve optimal graduate quality outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Digital schools are essential for new experiences in the classroom and the education system as a whole for teachers and students, with the flood of new technologies, of course, demanding changes to the way teachers teach and learn students. This research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of digital school at SMAN 1 Sukabumi. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The respondents of this study were the principal, four deputy principals, teachers and 293 students. Data collection was carried out using documentation studies, observations, and interviews. The data obtained, collected, processed, and conclusions are drawn. The results of this study are that in school planning, this program has been planned to start in 2013 but has yet to have a grand design digital school program, both short-term and long-term. The organization of the program still needs to be directed. Meanwhile, in its implementation, SMA Negeri 1 Sukabumi has gradually implemented the digitization program. However, it still needs to be completed and comprehensive. The principal has carried out an internal evaluation. However, it still needs to evaluate the digital school program. Meanwhile, external supervision has yet to be carried out either by school committees or school supervisors. The school has planned a digital school program, with the formulation of the school's vision, mission and goals that lead to the development of a digital-based school. However, there must be a clear grand design for both short-term and long-term programs.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students' interpersonal and intrapersonal skills at Integrated Vocational High School 1 Yaspida, where all students are in boarding schools and SMK Yasti district. Sukabumi, only 15% are boarding houses. The method used is qualitative with case studies. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman technique (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion). The results of this study indicate that the soft skills of students at SMK YASTI and SMK Terpadu 1 Yaspida have the same results; students' interpersonal and intrapersonal skills are not affected by the presence of students living, whether they are in boarding school or not. Yasti Vocational School has a very good program, which can shape student characteristics and develop student soft skills, just like students who are in Islamic boarding schools. The soft skills aspect with the highest rating is the Collaboration aspect, and the lowest rating is on the leadership aspect. This research implies that through the implementation of project-based learning models, vocational high schools (SMK) can create a more realistic learning environment that is outcome-oriented and focused on developing skills needed in the working world and daily life.

Abstract

This article describes and analyzes the implementation of the Pancasila Student ProfileStrengthening Project (P5) at SMA Negeri 1 Sukabumi. The research is qualitative-descriptive design. The research was conducted by analyzing the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of projects implemented at school. The research begins with a documentation study, distributing questionnaires to 32 teachers as respondents, interviews, and observations. The results are planning, which includes team formation, making technical guidebooks, and determining project themes. Meanwhile, project organization consists of the formation of a project group guidance team, determining the object of research, and determining student groups. The implementation of the project starts with determining the formulation of the research object, formulating the problems, making instruments, implementing observations, making reports, and creating blogs to upload project reports. Whilst project supervision and evaluation are conducted in the supervision internally and externally. The theme of the first project is local wisdom, the second project is engineering technology. The project is implemented through a block system within 3-4 weeks. The end of the project is carried out through the harvest of works, namely publication in the form of presentations of students’ work, which is attended by students, teachers, and parents either in offline or online meetings. The finding of the research problem comes from the lack of coordination of school management internally and externally with a percentage of 46% of teacher respondents are not involved in the planning of the project and the lack of school supervisors and school committees’ roles. Another finding comes from the lack of student activity with a percentage of only 59% who actively participated in making the project activity. The assessment and project objectives do not reflect the achievement of the Pancasila student profile.
