Abstract

The research on erosion level (TBE) in the sub watershed of Tapung kanan has beenconducted on February-March 2013 using the USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) bythe formula A = RxKxLSxC.P. The results showed that the change of use / land coverimpact on the actual increase in the level of erosion that occurs in each type of landuse. Erosion hazard level (TBE) which occurs in the sub watershed of Tapung Kanan, for each type of use / land cover has a magnitude which varies, with an average erosionrate of 130.18 tons / Ha / year, and the distribution for each class TBE is: very Low(SR): 16986.50 Ha (7.17)%; Low: 35343.73 ha (14.92%); Moderate: 142,155.01 ha(60.01%); high: 32109.48 Ha (13.55%) and very high: 10290.71 ha (4.34%). TSL valueof Tapung Kanan Sub watershed which obtained from this research ranged from 14.40-30.00 tons / ha / year, while the average value of the actual erosion of 130.14 tons / ha/ year, thus the Erosion hazard level of Tapung kanan Sub Watershed exceeds thepermitted threshold, the SDR value of 0.463, still below the SDR standard value of0.490.

Abstract

Central government authority which governing mastery, ownership, use and utilization of land and natural resources sectorally, authoritarian, and centralized in granting licenses for utilization of natural resources to business entities resulting in 3 (three) main problems, that are land tenure inequality, agrarian conflicts in natural resource management, and environmental damage. In 2018 in Riau Province, precisely in Siak Regency, Government implements land redistribution exconcession (HGU) of PT. Mahakarya Eka Guna (MEG) for community through the land objected of agrarian reform program (TORA) in order to rearrange the imbalance of mastery structure, ownership, use and utilization of land toward which more fair. So that land can be a source of livelihood and welfare for the community. TORA Program location is majority are in the function area of the peat swamp ecosystem Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) with peat depths of more than 3 meters, so the management of peatlands must follow government regulations related to regional function. The condition is currently being carried out land clearing on the exconcession land in TORA program to immediately utilization land, while the public does not have enough information and knowledge about the most profitable choice of plants.

Abstract

ABSTRACT             This research was conducted in March to April 2019. The purpose of this research was to find out value of total suspended solid (TSS) content, value of phytoplankton abundance, and the relationship between the total suspended solid (TSS) and the abundance of phytoplankton. This research used survey method, there is arefour sampling stations with three replications in each station. The results showed, that the highest average of TSS contentin Padang Strait waters was found in Station 3 (241,33 mg/l) and the lowest in Station 4 (193,33 mg/l). The types of phytoplankton was found in Padang Strait waters was 14 types, they areBacillaria sp, Closterium sp, Coscinodiscus sp, Isthmia sp, Rhizosolenia sp, Synedra sp, Navicula sp, Skeletonema sp, Thalassionema sp, Oscillatoria sp, Nitzschia sp, Hantzschia sp, Amphora sp, and Pleurosigma sp with the most dominant types are Isthmia sp and Rhizosolenia sp. The highest abundance was found in aroundMangrove Area of Pangkalan Jambi Village (3247,59 ind/l) and the lowest was found inSungai Selari Port (1538,18 ind/l).Based on simple linear regression, the relationship ofTSS content with phytoplankton abundance showed a intense negative relationship, it means that the increasing of TSS content will decreasing abundance of phytoplankton in Padang Strait waters. Keywords:Padang Strait, TSS, Abundance of Phytoplankton
