Abstract

This research was grounded on the crucial role of parents in supporting the social and language development of children with speech delay. Speech delay refers to a condition in which a child’s language abilities do not meet age expectations, often requiring early intervention. One effective intervention is content mastery services, provided by counselors or psychologists, which equip parents with strategies to stimulate social interactions and language development. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used. The study involved 30 parents at RA Qurratu A’yun Delitua, North Sumatra, selected through purposive sampling. The intervention included structured group sessions, role-playing exercises, individualized feedback, and follow-up monitoring. Data were collected using a validated and reliable skill scale and analyzed with paired sample t-tests. The results showed a significant improvement in parents’ social stimulation skills, with 80% in the high category post-intervention compared to 30% pre-intervention. These findings indicate that content mastery services effectively enhance parental skills. In the context of Islamic education, this intervention reinforces the family as the first madrasah, shaping children’s social, moral, and cognitive growth from early childhood.

Abstract

Parental parenting is very important for child development, especially early childhood. Early childhood is a very sensitive time, because parents must be able to provide positive things to help children’s psychological and mental growth as well as the community in Timbang Lawan Bahorok Village. In the implementation of the study we used the interview method as an instrumental tool. During a visit to the village of Timbang Lawan Bahorok we found that many parents ignored the impotance of parenting and support involving children. We also see a lack of parental readness in educating. They think that the role of parents is an easy thing, which is only limited to feeding, sending and caring, but basically parents are the main key to the child’s psychic and emotional development. As parent’s, they should pay more attention, understand and get closer to the child. If the parenting style given by the parents is good, the child will bring out a good attitude and have good character.

Abstract

Spiritual development in children is crucial for building their character and faith. However, not all children receive adequate parental support in learning and applying religious principles, particularly in reading the Quran. This inadequate support may be due to parents' busy schedules, lack of knowledge, or lack of attention to their children's religious education. Children who lack guidance will struggle to understand and implement Islamic teachings. This study aims to foster religious values in children who receive little parental attention. The method chosen was a qualitative case study approach, and data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that Quranic study activities in Jentera Village have brought positive changes, particularly for a child named AZ. They demonstrated improvements in Quranic reading, consistency in worship, and Islamic behavior. Children who previously could not read have now begun to memorize short chapters and pray regularly. Quranic study activities have proven successful in strengthening religious values and building a religious atmosphere through community involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using the strength bombardment technique in enhancing self-resilience among students who experience fatherlessness. The research employed  quantitative approach with a quasi experimental design, specifically a non equivalent control group design, involving two groups an experimental group that received group counseling with the strength bombardment technique, and a control group that did not receive any treatment. The population consisted of all students from the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Education Study Program, class of 2024, totaling 186 students. The sample comprised 12 students from the same program who met the criteria for fatherlessness, and were purposively assigned to the two groups. The research instrument used was a self-resilience scale developed by Daulay  Indriani 2024, with measurements taken during the pretest and posttest stages. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test in SPSS version 22, with a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that before the intervention, all subjects in both groups had low levels of self-resilience 100%. After the intervention, the experimental group showed a significant increase, with 66.6% of students categorized as having high resilience, 16.7% in the very high category, and 16.7% in the moderate category, while the control group remained in the low category without any change. Based on the results, the Sig. 2-tailed value was 0.027. This study reveals that group counseling using the strength bombardment technique is effective in enhancing self resilience among students who experience fatherlessness.
