Abstract

School-aged children are a strategic or appropriate target for implementing health programs because apart from being large in number, they are also a target that is easy to reach and can be well organized. The high level of student ignorance regarding clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) is still due to environmental factors, influence from peers, and educational patterns provided by parents. One way to increase children's knowledge is by providing education using a method that children like, namely through games. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of educational games on knowledge and attitudes about PHBS among elementary school children in the coastal area of Bengkulu City. This type of research used a quantitative method with quasi experimental design two group pretest posttest. The sample was taken from 70 people using a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the paired T-Test. The results of statistical tests show that there is an increase in average knowledge after providing educational game intervention (p=0.000, t= -5.111, one tail) and there was an increase in average attitude after providing the educational game intervention (p=0.000, t=-1.548, one tail). The intervention was effective in knowledge and attitudes about PHBS among elementary school children in the coastal area of Bengkulu city. It is hoped that this research can be used as a medium to increase knowledge and attitudes towards implementing PHBS in children.

Abstract

Background. Primiparous mothers have a higher risk of experiencing difficulties in providing breast milk (ASI) due to lack of experience and preparation to become mothers. 90% of mothers in Indonesia have breastfed their children, but those who provide exclusively for 6 months are still low at 20%. One of the reasons for the failure of the success of providing exclusive breastfeeding is the low self-confidence or belief (Self Efficacy) of primiparous mothers in providing breast milk. Therefore, it is necessary to provide education about breastfeeding by implementing the emotional demonstration method developed by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to increase breastfeeding self-efficacy in primiparous mothers. Objective. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the emotional demonstration method in increasing breastfeeding self-efficacy (BSE) in primiparous mothers in Bengkulu City. Method. The research design used quasi-experimental design with two group pretest-posttest design. Data collection used questionnaire instruments. The number of primiparous mother samples was 33 people in the intervention group and 33 people in the control group. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to determine the differences before and after the intervention. Result. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in Breastfeeding Self Efficacy before and after being given the emotional demonstration method with a p-value = 0.007 (<0.05). Conclusion. The emotional demonstration method has been proven to be effective in increasing Breastfeeding Self Efficacy in primiparous mothers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) with a high prevalence in Indonesia. The use of local herbal ingredients, such as Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa), is a non-pharmacological therapy alternative that can help lower blood pressure. The methods used include preparation, socialization, training in Rosella cultivation and processing, mentoring, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. A total of 40 participants took part in the activities. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, from an average score of 62 on the pre-test to 92 on the post-test. In addition, elderly health center cadres were able to provide health education independently, while the PKK group successfully cultivated rosella to produce dried rosella tea. This program shows that the use of rosella not only has the potential to improve the health of the elderly, but can also be an economic opportunity for the community. Keywords: Rosella, Hypertension, Posyandu Cadres, PKK, Community Empowerment.  ABSTRAK Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular (PTM) dengan prevalensi tinggi di Indonesia. Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is a crucial strategy for improving infant health and preventing stunting. However, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding remains low across various regions in Indonesia. The success of EBF is influenced by several factors, particularly maternal knowledge and Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy (BSE). Primiparous mothers are more vulnerable to breastfeeding challenges due to limited experience and low self-confidence. ASI Smart Game is a game-based health promotion tool designed to improve knowledge and BSE among primiparous mothers. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of ASI Smart Game on knowledge and BSE in primiparous mothers. A pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach was employed. The sample consisted of 33 primiparous mothers with infants aged 0–6 months in the working area of Kandang Public Health Center, selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included an EBF knowledge questionnaire and the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form (BSES-SF). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results indicated an increase in knowledge and BSE scores after the ASI Smart Game intervention (p = 0.001). ASI Smart Game was effective in enhancing both knowledge and BSE among primiparous mothers.
