Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness and the difference of student’s scientific attitude and learning achievement in practicum based collaborative team work learning using expository model in Precipitation Reactions class at the ninth grade Natural Sciences Class of SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya. Using a quasi-experimental design, two classes of Natural Sciences participated in this study. In this case, the IPA 1 class was treated as the control group, and the IPA 2 class was treated as the experiment group. The data collection tool of the student’s scientific attitude was an observation sheet, and the tool of the student’s achievement was an essay test. The results of the U-Mann Whitney of SPSS 17,0 showed the difference on the student’s scientific attitude in curiosity, respect on data or facts, critical thinking, open-minded and cooperative attitude, perseverance, and sensitivity (P value (0,000) < α (0,05)). The results also indicated the difference on the student’s learning achievement in control group treated by using practicum-based collaborative team work model, and in control group treated by using practicum-based expository model. The effect size measurement revealed 1.08 (scientific attitude) and 0.96 (learning achievement) and were considered high.

Abstract

Rendahnya pengetahuan dan hasil belajar siswa pada sub materi konfigurasi elektron dan hubungan konfigurasi elektron dengan tabel periodik di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak disebabkan oleh kesulitan siswa dalam menuliskan konfigurasi elektron. Selama ini, media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru belum mampu membuat siswa paham terhadap penulisan konfigurasi elektron, sehingga perlu dikembangkan media pembelajaran yang dapat memudahkan siswa memahami materi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan media pembelajaran Puztes yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar validasi, angket respon siswa dan guru, serta lembar pretest dan posttest. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development [R&D] model ADDIE [Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation]. Penelitian ini menggunakan validasi isi dengan pendekatan Content Validity Ratio [CVR]. Dengan demikian, diharapkan media pembelajaran puztes yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai media ajar pada sub materi konfigurasi elektron dan hubungan konfigurasi elektron dengan tabel periodik di kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed by the students’ low learning outcomes class at the elemerith grade X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak on chemistry subject, especially in the matter of redox reactions. The aim of this study was to determine differences in learning outcomes class at the elemerith grade X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak in the matter redox reactions being taught by cooperative learning model snowball throwing type by flash media with the lecture method by flash media and to determine the influence of cooperative learning model snowball throwing using flash media on learning outcomes class at the elemerith grade X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak academic year 2014/2015. This research was Quasi Experimental Research Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling system was simple random sampling technique. This study employed the students of grade X TITL as the samples of experiment group, and the students of grade X TSM as the samples of control group. The techniques of data collections used measurement and observation. Meanwhile the instruments employed that is the achievement test in the form of essay. The calculation results of the post test effect size of 0.83, which meant cooperative learning model snowball throwing type by flash media influence which was 29.67 % and considered high which indicated the positive effect. The results showed differences between the learning outcomes which were taught by using cooperative learning model snowball throwing type by flash media with the lecture method by flash media.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Snowball Throwing, Redox Reactions, Flash Media

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 mengakibatkan transformasi pembelajaran dari tatap muka menjadi dalam jaringan. Perubahan ini tidak hanya dalam hal model pembelajaran, tetapi juga media pembelajaran. Namun kenyataannya, guru cenderung belum siap menyiapkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai, terutama pada sekolah yang memiliki keterbatasan teknologi. Selama pembelajaran daring, guru tetap menggunakan media pembelajaran cetak, salah satunya lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD). LKPD cetak yang diberikan oleh guru  belum bisa membuat siswa paham akan materi konsep mol dikarenakan hanya berisi penjelasan materi yang disampaikan melalui tulisan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan  media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan interaktif yang mampu membantu siswa memahami materi konsep mol. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk E-LKPD berbasis liveworksheet yang inovatif, interaktif, dan layak digunakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah 3D yaitu, define, design, dan develop. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MAN 3 Pontianak menggunakan 6 sampel uji coba lapangan awal dan 32 sampel  uji coba lapangan utama. Alat pengumpul data diperoleh dari angket validasi media, angket respon siswa serta soal pretest dan posttest.  Hasil Validasi ahli materi dan media menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD berbasis worksheet yang dikembangkan sangat valid dengan persentase kevalidan masing-masing sebesar 93,75% dan 83,33%. Analisis N-Gain menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD berbasis worksheet memiliki efektifitas yang tinggi dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai N-Gain pada uji coba lapangan awal dan utama secara berturut-turut sebesar 0,61 dan 0,72. Hasil analisis  kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD sangat praktis dengan persentase kepraktisan sebesar 85%. Dengan demikian, e-LKPD berbasis liveworksheet yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran konsep mol.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was initiated by the ineffectiveness and inefficiency of the media used by the teacher in Atomic Theory class. As a result, proper media such as flash media-based snakes and ladders game is urgently needed. Thus, this study aimed at developing a practical, valid, effective, and applicable flash media -based snakes and ladders game on Atomic Theory for grade X students of SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak. A 3D (Define, Design, and Develop) development model suggested by Thiagarajan was carried out in this study. The data collection technique used were indirect communication, and measurement. While the instruments used were pre-test and post test questions, and the test sheets of learning outcomes. The study revealed that flash media-based snakes and ladders game was considered valid (3,52) and attracted positive response from both students and teachers with the practicality score of 85,78 % and 75 %. This media has fulfilled the effectiveness aspect, as well, as there were significant difference of before and after the media used (<0,05). Based on the results of data analysis, flash media-based snakes and ladders game is applicable to be used as the teaching materials in learning process.Keywords: flash media-based game, atomic theory, snakes and ladders

Abstract

The background of this research was the lack of student’s learning to the eleventh grade student’s of IPA 2 of SMA Panca Bhakti Pontianak in chemistry especially molecule form material based on theory hybridization. Therefore, it was needed the method of learning to increase the student’s comprehension about appropriate concept with characteristic both of the subject and student. The aim of this research was to know the differences of student’s learning result between student’s which was taught by using TTW learning method in assist of question card media with the student’s which was taught by using lecture method in molecule form material based on theory hybridization. The kind of this research wascontrol grouppretest-posttest design. The technique and the instrument to collect the data were using student’s learning test, observation, and interview. The result of data analysis showed the mean score of control class pretest was 36,91 and the mean score of posttest was 41,15 while the mean score of experiment class pretest was 31,46 and the mean score of posttest was 66,58. The statistic result of U Mann- Whitneyshowed that the score was 0,00 less than α (0,00<0,05) which meanth the differences of student’s learning result which was taught by using TTW learning method in assist of question card media with the student’s which taught by using lecture method. The increasement of student’s learning result was known by counting the effect sizescore 1,06 in high score categorize. In this case, the learning method TTW with question card can be used in molecule form material based on theory hybridization to increase the student’s learning result.Keywords: Molecule From Based on Theory Hybridization, Question Card, Think Talk Write (TTW)

Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning chemistry is a combination of theories with calculation that require good mathematical abillity in solving problems. This research was investigate and examined the student’s mathematic skill and correlation of the results class X MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. This research was a correlation study. The selected samples consisted of 69 students in the class X MIPA 3 and MIPA 4 used Random Sampling technique. The data ware obtained using mathematical skill tests, documentation of the value of the results of class X student second semester of 2015/2016 and interview. This research was indicates that students with high math skills, students achievment chemical is no longer influenced by mathematical abilities. Data were analyzed with a nonparametric test (Spearman Rank test) showed there is no significant correlation between the skill of mathematics to chemistry student learning achievment at 0.236 and correlation coefficient of 0.145 including very low category. The skill of Mathematics class X SMAN 4 Pontianak totaling 69 students were good to excellent category the percentage of students 53.6%, 40.5% good category, the category was sufficient 4.5%, 1.4% less category.Keywords: Corellation, Mathmatics skill, Student’s learning achievement chemistry

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe complex and abstract characteristics of Chemical materials requires students to have higher thinking skills to learn. Relationship of students' thinking skills and the ability to learn chemistry indicates the need of formal thinking skills in learning chemistry. This study aimed at describing the grade X students’ thinking skills and learning outcomes, and finding the correlation of grade X students’ learning outcomes and their formal thinking skills. The results of analysis revealed that as many as 7 students were able to correctly answer the burney test questions and achieved value range of 17-24. This value was included in the criteria of formal thinking. In addition, the preferred correct answers were the correlation a land combinatorial reasoning. A total of 10 students of grade XD, SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak obtained test results of chemistry achievement at ≥ 65, while 26 students scored completeness at ≤ 65. The data obtained showed the positive correlation between formal thinking skills and learning outcomes with correlation coefficient sof 0.514 or 51.4%. Hence, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship of formal thinking skills and students’ learning outcomes in learning chemistry.Keywords : Students’ learning outcomes, The ability of Formal thinking, Learning Chemistry

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X MIPA 2 di SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Ambawang dengan menggunakan model discovery learning berbantuan alat peraga balon dan molymod. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan melibatkan 24 siswa di kelas X MIPA 2. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dari nilai tes akhir atau tugas dari 20 orang peserta didik (83,3%) memiliki nilai diatas KKM, sedangkan 4 orang peserta didik (16,7%) memiliki nilai dibawah KKM. Nilai KKM pada materi bentuk molekul adalah 75. Selain itu, kemampuan siswa meningkat juga dapat dilihat dari tingkat keaktifan siswa untuk bertanya dan menanggapi topik yang dibahas dalam pembelajaran. Dalam pembelajaran ini pemahaman siswa tentang konsep bentuk molekul dibangun oleh siswa melalui pengamatan saat melakukan kegiatan praktek dengan menggunakan alat peraga dan diskusi yang menuntut kemampuan siswa untuk berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Students’ difficulties in understanding the Extraction and Isolation of secondary metabolite compound of (Premna serratifolia Linn) are mainly caused by the improper learning media used by the teacher. By far, the media used in learning hasn’t met the students’ needs as it didn’t present the real process of Extraction and Isolation. This study aimed at developing a valid and a practical learning media. Using 3-D (Define, Design, Develop) model, this study employed questionnaire, interview, direct communication, and measurement as the data collection techniques. The data collection tools were interview guidance, observation sheet, and questionnaire sheet. The results of the validation from material, media, and language experts showed 93,9% valid. Whereas, the results of the practicality from individual try-out was 95,33%, and from small group try-out was 86,39%, and it’s regarded practical. In conclusion, the learning video of Extraction and Isolation of secondary metabolite compound of (Premna serratifolia Linn) is considered valid and practical. Therefore, it is recommended to be used in teaching learning process.Keywords: Extraction, Isolation, Developing 3-D Model, learning video
