Abstract

Gender stereotypes still exist in the educational process. This can be seen from the biased attitudes of teachers towards their students and biased texts in school textbooks, both in the form of sentences and images. One way to overcome this is through Indonesian language lessons. The purpose of this study is to analyze efforts that can be made to build a gender-sensitive culture through language learning. This study used a quantitative survey method. The research respondents comprised 185 junior high school teachers of Indonesian language subjects selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a Google Form, containing a closed questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS. The results showed that the majority of teachers showed a supportive attitude towards efforts to build a gender-sensitive culture through language learning, which includes: a) the implementation of gender-equal character education through Indonesian language lessons; b) the use of gender-neutral materials in Indonesian language lessons; and c) the application of gender-sensitive pedagogy. A gender-sensitive culture can be built through language learning. This research implies that teachers can use it as a guide in educating students about gender equality, textbook compilers to use language that upholds gender equality in compiling books, and the government as curriculum and policy makers to implement gender equality in education fairly and evenly.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Amalia (KKA) adalah program implementasi Catur Dharma Perguruan Tinggi khususnya di lingkungan Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah yang memberikan pengalaman belajar dan bekal bekerja bagi mahasiswa dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Winning Kecamatan Pasarwajo Kabupaten Buton. Kegiatan KKA UM-Buton ini bertujuan a) melatih kemampuan mahasiswa dalam berpikir, bekerja lintas bidang ilmu dan bermitra dalam pemecahan masalah di masyarakat; b) sebagai wadah edukasi dalam mengembangkan potensi desa, SDM dan memperkuat nilai-nilai kearifan lokal; c) sebagai wujud pelaksanaan catur dharma perguruan tinggi. Metode yang digunakan dalam KKA UM-Buton ini berupa metode pelatihan, edukasi dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa terselengaranya kegiatan Weekend Clean-up Day (WCD), senam sehat, PHBS, pembuatan handsanitizer, pembuatan POC dan Pembuatan pot dari karpet/handuk/kain bekas; Penguatan literasi (kelas mewarnai, kelas CALISTUNG dan TPA; dan Pembuatan & pemasangan visi misi desa, plang nama jalan & plang nama perangkat desa. Program KKA UM-Buton ini tergolong berhasil karena mendapat dukungan dan apresiasi dari masyarakat Desa baik dari pemerintah desa, tokoh masyarakat, karang taruna maupun dari anak-anak sekolah dasar di Desa Winning Kec. Pasarwajo Kabupaten Buton.

Abstract

Mass media plays a crucial role in shaping public perception of the teaching profession through discourse construction and representation strategies. This study analyzes the editorial discourse in Derap Guru magazine using the critical discourse analysis approach based on Norman Fairclough's theory. Data were obtained from the print edition of Derap Guru magazine published in 2024. The problem in this study concerns how the representation of teachers in the editorial column of Derap Guru magazine is examined through a critical discourse analysis study of the textual dimension. The purpose of this research is to describe the representation of teachers in Derap Guru magazine published in 2024. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, presenting data in the form of words, phrases, and sentences rather than numbers resulting from statistical calculations. The findings indicate that the representation of teachers in Derap Guru magazine is biased in favor of teachers. This is evident in the media’s tendency to emphasize certain aspects that contribute to building stigma or a particular perception of teachers as a group. The tendency to highlight specific issues constructs stigmas or perceptions about teachers as a professional body, revealing tensions between state policies, digital literacy demands, compensation adequacy, and professional respect. This research contributes to understanding how specialized educational media employs discourse strategies to advocate for teacher interests while upholding journalistic credibility.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Berdasarkan hasil observasi di kelas III SD Negeri Tambakserang 03 Bantarkawung Brebes, ditemukan permasalahan pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya keterampilan menulis. Sebanyak 57,14% siswa belum mencapai KKM sebesar 70. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kegiatan pembelajaran yang kurang kreatif dan inovatif, pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru, dan guru menggunakan metode ceramah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning, hasil belajar menulis pokok-pokok informasi dari teks, kendala-kendala yang muncul selama pembelajaran serta solusinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pengamatan, serta refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, tes, dan catatan lapangan. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Discovery Learning berlangsung dengan baik. Pada siklus 1, aktivitas pembelajaran mencapai 71,42% dan siklus II sebesar 92,85%, mengalami peningkatan sebesar 21,42% dengan nilai ketercapaian ≥80. Pada siklus I rata-rata ketuntasan hasil belajar menulis teks pokok-pokok informasi dari teks 75,85 pada siklus II rata-rata ketuntasan mencapai 81,85. Kendala- kendala yang dihadapi, dalam siklus I maupun siklus II telah dapat diatasi dengan baik. Kata kunci: menulis, model discovery learning, IMPLEMENTATION OF DISCOVERY LEARNING LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS III STUDENTS OF SDN TAMBAKSERANG 03 EVEN SEMESTER OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 ABSTRACT Based on the results of observations in class III of SD Negeri Tambakserang 03 Bantarkawung Brebes, problems were found in learning Indonesian, especially writing skills. As many as 57,14% of students have not reached the KKM of 70. This is caused by learning activities that are less creative and innovative, teacher-centered learning, and teachers using the lecture method. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of learning using the Discovery Learning learning model, the results of learning to write the main points of information from the text, the obstacles that arise during learning and the solutions. This research uses a classroom action research (PTK) design, which is carried out in two cycles and each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation and observation, and reflection. The data collection techniques used were observation, tests and field notes. The collected data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research results show that learning by applying the Discovery Learning model is going well. In cycle 1, learning activities reached 71.42% and in cycle II it reached 92.85%, experiencing an increase of 21.42% with an achievement score of ≥80. In cycle I the average completeness result of learning to write the main information from the text was 75.85 in cycle II the average completeness reached 81.85. The obstacles faced in cycle I and cycle II have been overcome well. Keywords: writing, discovery learning model.

Abstract

21st century education with the Independent Curriculum requires educators to become adaptive and creative facilitators. However, until now the existing learning is still centered on educators and is cognitive in nature, so that Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) limit students' creativity. Differentiated learning is a learning strategy that provides flexibility for students' interests, learning styles, and ability levels. This study aims to optimize student learning equality through the application of product differentiation learning at SMPN 39 Semarang. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, data validity uses data and source triangulation. The results of the study show that the application of product differentiation at SMPN 39 Semarang is able to foster student creativity, as seen from the enthusiasm for learning, the products produced, imagination in implementing product making, participation in discussions, and initiative in expressing ideas. So that through product differentiation students get relevant and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi patologi sosial dalam novel Indonesia kontemporer Brian Khrisna, Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum Mati. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam kerangka sosiologi sastra, penelitian ini menganalisis novel sebagai dokumen sosial untuk mengungkap manifestasi disfungsi masyarakat dalam setting urban. Sumber data primer adalah novel itu sendiri, dengan data pendukung yang diambil dari laporan empiris dan statistik untuk mengontekstualisasikan temuan sastra dalam kondisi sosial dunia nyata. Analisis mengungkapkan jejaring kompleks dari sepuluh patologi sosial yang saling terkait, yang dikategorikan secara sistematis dari level interpersonal hingga sistemik. Temuan kunci adalah eksplorasi kritis novel terhadap patologi sosial terselubung seperti anomie, alienasi, dan kegagalan fungsi afektif keluarga yang ditunjukkan sebagai akar fondasi dari disintegrasi sosial yang lebih terlihat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa novel berfungsi sebagai cermin sosial yang kuat, menawarkan kritik tajam terhadap kegagalan multi-sektoral dalam masyarakat Indonesia kontemporer. Studi ini berkontribusi pada ilmu sastra dengan menunjukkan keefektifan integrasi teori patologi sosial dengan kritik sastra sosiologis untuk memberikan pemahaman yang bernuansa tentang peran sastra dalam mendiagnosis dan mengkritik masalah sosial.

Abstract

Child-friendly school (CFS) has been interesting topic in years. But unfortunately, most of the schools that put this branding as friendly schools do not apply it properly. The CFS team from Universitas PGRI Semarang concerned on sharing information about the application of CFS on vocational school to the school’s team (stakeholders, teachers, education staffs, students, parents, and school committee) of Kartika Aqasa Bhakti Semarang aviation vocational school so they get the same perception on CFS. The school itself apply semi military activities in their daily activitieshe training was an implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) as a reinforcement for the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar). The methods used are socialization, training, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The results achieved were 90% of the school team had the same perception regarding the implementation of the children's rights convention and the SRA (Sekolah Ramah Anak, children-friendly school-CFS)  concept in schools, and there was an increase in the understanding and ability of the CFS Driving Team about the implementation of the children's rights convention and the implementation of CFS in schools by 95% and 90%.  This service activity shows that training can increase the awareness and ability of the CFS Team to implement CRC and CFS concepts in schools.
