Abstract

Penerapan kurikulum merdeka mendorong siswa untuk mengembangkan berbagai keterampilan guna menghadapi tantangan abad 21, termasuk keterampilan literasi sains. Melalui literasi sains, siswa mampu memahami konsep-konsep dan proses ilmiah yang membantu mereka dalam pembuatan keputusan dengan didasarkan pada pengetahuan yang dimilikinya. Keterampilan literasi sains menjadi penting bagi siswa dalam konteks ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan literasi sains siswa dengan melakukan penerapan pendekatan Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) dalam pembelajarannya. Desain penelitian yang dipergunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan bentuk one-group pre-test and post-test design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan soal pretest dan posttest kepada seluruh siswa kelas VII A dari satu diantara SMP swasta Kota Surabaya yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan peningkatan literasi sains dengan output N-Gain sebesar 0,73, sehingga dikategorikan dengan kategori peningkatan yang tinggi. Hasil uji statistik inferensial menggunakan uji non-parametrik (uji Wilcoxon) menunjukkan output Asymp.Sig. (2-Tailed) sebesar 0,000, yang berarti kurang dari 0,05, sehingga mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan signifikan antara nilai pretest dan posttest. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan SSI efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh output N-Gain dan signifikansi dari uji statistik inferensial.

Abstract

Scientific literacy skills about the plague were needed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Students who previously studied at school now have to spend a lot of time at home studying. They are then primarily very dependant on the internet to get valuable information of academic purposes. However, concerns arise that massive access to information online has created problems with understanding Covid-19 which eventually may risk their attitude. Therefore, this study aims to analyze scientific literacy of students against the ongoing outbreak in terms of the contents. The research employs ADDIE model due to its compactness towards its process. The stages reflect the process of developing, studying, and implementing contagion literacy assessment products for junior high school students. The instrument design procedure consisted of literature study, development of test items, internal validation, and pilot project. The feasibility will be reviewed from the results of the validity and reliability. The data to be collected in this research are quantitative and qualitative data related to the validity and reliability. The results of the face validity test from three experts show that the questions arranged in the literacy instrument are considered valid with minor revision in terms of materials and construction. The pilot project, however, showed an opposite result. The instrument was scored invalid because 14 out of 20 questions were invalid. The influencing factor found was students was not ready to read long passage or data in digital format. Transmission, prevention, and treatment are the issues in which student are familiar with. Overall, the instrument was sufficient to observe what students know and needs much revision in terms of format.

Abstract

Education is certainly very important for the progress of a country. Therefore, the education obtained is certainly not only in cognitive knowledge, but other knowledge as well. This knowledge is such as communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, metacognition, information literacy, creation, innovation and other skills. This skill is certainly useful as a guide for students in learning activities and in daily life. The purpose of this study is to improve students' collaboration skills in science learning. The method used is classroom action with a lesson study model. The stages of this model are designing learning (plan), implementing learning (do and see), then reflection and follow-up. This research was conducted during 3 learning cycles with different learning designs. The results of this study show that there is an increase in the collaboration skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Porong from cycles 1, 2, and 3. This shows that the actions taken are successful and able to make students collaborate very well.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' communication skills by implementing the Everyone is a Teacher Here (ETH) strategy. This research is action research in the classroom, with the subject being students from class VII-E of SMP Negeri 1 Porong. The instruments used to collect data were observation sheets and tests. This research data was collected through tests, observations, and interviews. The research was carried out in two cycles, with cycle I taking place in one meeting (3 x 40 minutes) and cycle II taking place in one meeting (3 x 40 minutes) as well. The research results showed a significant increase. The average percentage of students' communication skills in the six indicators in cycle 1 is 43.75%, which is in the medium category, and in cycle 2, it is 75%, which is included in the high category. ETH learning strategies can improve communication skills and increase students' participation and enthusiasm for learning in learning activities.

Abstract

Understanding atmospheric disaster mitigation is essential for students from an early age, especially since Indonesia is highly vulnerable to extreme weather events such as storms and heavy rainfall. Nevertheless, this topic is often perceived as less engaging and tends to lack student participation. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model integrated with Interactive Monopoly in enhancing students’ understanding of atmospheric disaster mitigation and air pollution. The research adopted a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 eighth-grade students. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain test to measure improvement in learning outcomes and the Wilcoxon test to determine the significance of differences between pretest and posttest scores. The findings revealed an increase in the average score from 78.83 (pretest) to 98.5 (posttest). The mean N-Gain score reached 0.94, which falls into the high category. The Wilcoxon test produced a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.05), confirming a significant difference. During the learning activities, students showed active involvement, effective collaboration, and greater motivation. The integration of TGT with Interactive Monopoly provides an innovative and enjoyable learning approach, statistically proven to improve learning outcomes, engagement, and motivation in contextual science education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terpandu, serta bagaimana pembelajaran telah dilakukan dan bagaimana respon siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran. Sebanyak 35 siswa kelas IX–D di SMP Sepuluh Nopember Sidoarjo menjadi subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis desain pra-eksperimental. Dalam rancangan penelitian ini digunakan satu kelompok pretest dan posttest  dengan kuesioner, tes, dan observasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat secara signifikan setelah menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing untuk pengajaran. Dari siswa tersebut, 54% menunjukkan peningkatan dengan kriteria sedang, dan 46% menunjukkan peningkatan dengan kriteria tinggi. Proses pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan sejauh ini berada di kategori sangat baik; persentase keseluruhan adalah 91% dalam pertemuan pertama dan 96,15% dalam pertemuan kedua. Tanggapan terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran penuntun sangat positif.

Abstract

This research aims to develop PBL-based LKPD to train students' scientific literacy skills. The sample in this study consisted of 27 students in class V B of SD Negeri 147 Gresik. Data analysis in this development research includes validity, practicality and effectiveness. The research results showed that the validity of the PBL model-based LKPD in the media aspect obtained a percentage of 94%, material 91%, and assessment instruments 89%. The practicality of PBL-based LKPD in the implementation of learning in meeting 1, the percentage is 97% and meeting 2 100%, in small group trial student activities in meeting 1 97% and meeting 2 100%, in large group trial student activities in meeting 1 97% and meeting 2 100% , in the student response to the small group trial at meeting 1 8.78% and at meeting 2 98.89%, in the student response to the large group trial at meeting 1 96.95% and at meeting 2 100%. The effectiveness of the posttest results showed that 1 student was in the poor category and 26 students were in the very good category. There are significant differences between the SPSS and manual T tests. The N-gain test was obtained at 0.73441 with the criteria for high student literacy abilities. The conclusion of this research is that the development of PBL-based LKPD is valid, practical and effective for training elementary school students' scientific literacy in science subjects regarding changes in the shape of objects.
