Abstract

Biology learning process in SMA N 1 Slawi generally still oriented to the cognitive learning, yet oriented to develop students' scientific literacy skills in context aspects, competence, knowledge, and attitudes of science. This research aimed to describe the effect of the of Problem-Based Learning accompanying Analyze Case Study to develop scientific literacy of students of grade X SMA N 1 Slawi. The research was a quasy experimental research used non-equivalent control group design. Sampling techniques was purposive sampling method, which the grade of X MIA 3 as the control class and X MIA 6 as an experimental class. This data research is data scientific literacy test results, student activities, student respons, teacher feedback, and adherence to learning. scientific literacy test data were analyzed using t-test and test of N-gain. The results showed that learning to use the PBL to Analyze Case Study on experimental class significant to the control class scientific literacy test results analysis, t test showed tcount 4.28 > ttable 1.996 with significance level of 0.05 so it can be seen the difference in the increase the results of the second study classes. Test N-gain in the low category to high, the experimental class has a percentage of 94.12%, 65.71% while the control class. The t-test average score of N-gain with tcount5 > ttable 1.996. Analysis of experimental class student activity is higher than in the control class with the percentage of 84% for the experimental group and 71% of pupils to grade control included in the criteria fairly active and active learning activities. Based on the results of this study concluded that the application of the model of Problem Based Learning to Analyze Case Study positive effect on students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Practicum become an appropriate method to give provisions in empirical experience especially for college student of Biology Education. Practicum was believed could show university students’ innovative behavior. The concrete form from using practicum method is learning model application that include learning syntax from the beginning to the end. Therefore, a research was did to analyze relation between practicum method towards innovative behaviour and the effectivity of it. Based on the result of regression analysis, all models give significance value p < 0.05 so could be known that every learning model give significance influence toward the formation of university students’ innovative behavior. Based on correlation coefficient analysis could be known that PJBL learning model give contribution value of 86.2% followed by guided inquiry of 85.4%, experiment model of 76.3% and observation model with contribution value of 64.7% toward the formation of university students’ innovative behavior. Based on the results of variance similarity analysis could be known that PJBL model is the most effictive model to form innovative behavior with difference value of 17.80 compared with other learning models. The result of research showing that all of the learning models when used on practicum relating the formation of innovative behaviour. Project based learning model gave contribution most effective towards innovative behaviour of the college students in Biology Education study program.

Abstract

The concrete success of Adiwiyata program is a self-awareness of the surrounding environment in controlling undisciplined habit and taking action as a shared responsibility. The character building using Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model becomes a teacher’ alternative in emphasizing students’ activity. This study aimed at analyzing the effect of VCT learning on students’ characters through population density material and humans’ role in the environmental management. The research used quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The population of this study was a total of 293 students of class VII in SMPN 2 Jati Kudus in the academic year of 2016/2017. The sampling used simple random sampling technique. The data of this research were characters of discipline, responsibility, and environmental care obtained from psychological scales instrument and observation sheets, implementation sheets of VCT models, and responses questionnaires of students and teacher. The data analysis techniques used t-test, simple regression, correlation test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that the VCT learning model had a strong positive correlation to the responsibility character and a moderate correlation to the discipline and environmental care character that could be generalized. Moreover, the results of the correlation analysis and coefficient of determination of VCT learning on students’ characters of discipline, responsibility, and environmental care were 33.2%, 38.3%, and 22.7% respectively. These results indicated that there was another dominant factor on students’ characters.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of learning resources used previously at SMA N 3 Salatiga, describe the feasibility of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom, and test the effectiveness of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom on learning outcomes and student’s environmental care attitude. The method used is research development (R & D). Products are validated by material and media validators, and revised before being tested. Small-scale trials (readability test) use 10 students from class X MIPA 1, while large-scale trials use class X MIPA 2 with the experimental design Pre-experimental Design with the type of Pre-test and Post-test One Group Design. The results of the study show the variety of learning resources used previously including biological, teacher, internet, biology books, and the environment around students. The Feasibility of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom obtained an average score of 92.21% with very decent criteria. Large-scale trials with an average N-gain value 0.49 in the medium category, the average classical completeness is 85.29%, and the environment care attitude of students is based on the observation result of 92.9% with a high category and the result of the inter-student assessment is 86, 18% with a high category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Biomagz Based Local Wisdom is well worth and effective on learning outcomes and student’s environmental care attitude.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the application of metacognition strategy by snowball throwing-assisted toward students' metacognitive ability and learning outcomes in reproductive system material. The study design uses Pre-experimental design with a one-shot case study pattern applied to class XI MIPA 4 and XI MIPA 7 of Academic Year 2017/2018. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Student learning outcomes data are analyzed using classical completeness test. Data on the ability of metacognition is analyzed using a scaled category of metacognition abilities. This study is effective if it is able to reach indicators of effectiveness, namely the average final grade of metacognition ability reaches ≥ 68 with the ok-super scale, and classical completeness of learning outcomes reaches ≥ 85%. Data on metacognition ability is obtained from the value of the monitoring sheet and the value of student learning journals. The metacognitive abilities of the two classes can reach an average final score of 82.45, indicating that students already have awareness in carrying out thinking processes which include the optimal input-elaboration-output stage. Student learning outcomes data obtained from the LDS value, the value of the snowball throwing paper and the posttest value. The learning outcomes of both classes were able to achieve classical completeness on average by 92.5%. The conclusion of this study is the effective snowball throwing-assisted metacognition strategy applied to reproductive system material in SMA N 1 Jakenan.
