Abstract

The dynamic development of an area significantly impacts people's living patterns, particularly regarding settlement issues. One major issue in settlement development is the livability of the settlement. This research aims to identify the distribution of settlement livability levels based on waste management conditions and fire protection systems. The study was conducted in Kelurahan Dalam Bugis, East Pontianak District, Pontianak City. A mixed methods approach was used in this research. Spatial quantitative data were analyzed and presented using Geographic Information Systems, while qualitative data were presented through data reduction, documentation, observation, and field interviews. The results showed that 16.4% of settlements are categorized as light slums (livable), 0.7% as moderate slums (quite livable), and 82.9% as severe slums (not livable). Livable settlements cover an area of 32.54 hectares (1,706 housing units). Moderately livable settlements cover an area of 1.33 hectares (97 housing units). Uninhabitable settlements cover an area of 159.13 hectares (2,290 housing units). Mitigation of critical health and safety aspects, such as fire hazards, requires increasing public awareness of waste management and providing adequate waste processing and fire-fighting facilities to prevent unwanted events.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has developed a comprehensive halal certification program through the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH). However, the halal certification recording application requires enhancements due to its lack of data elements pertaining to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) with geographical or location references. Geographic Information System (GIS) technology can serve as a solution for data management in the halal industry, encompassing the management, monitoring and analysis of spatial-temporal and real-time data. This research is aimed at developing geospatial technology for industrial halal management within the scope of MSEs. Methods for developing geospatial technology-based management of halal industry applications use analysis, design, development and evaluation through the ArcGIS online platform developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri). The findings of this research highlight the potential of geospatial technology in the halal industry. It can be effectively utilized to integrate and comprehensively manage halal industry data on a spatial basis, enabling performance monitoring of MSEs, halal product process assistance and the BPJPH. This technology allows for quick analysis of patterns, distributions, trends, associations and regional comparisons, providing valuable insights. Consequently, geospatial technology can support policy recommendations aimed at accelerating the halal certification process by mapping and analyzing relevant data based on geographic locations, facilitating a better understanding of spatial distribution and relationships within the halal industry. This research successfully develops geospatial technology for managing halal industries within MSEs, enabling comprehensive data integration and spatial analysis. The findings highlight its potential to enhance monitoring, support policy recommendations and accelerate the halal certification process.

Abstract

Good agricultural development planning requires an accurate and real-time database. This is very important to see the development and level of welfare of farmers as the spearhead of food security. Sungai Kakap Sub-district, Kubu Raya Regency is one of the sub-districts with the number of Gapoktan (23), Poktan (284), the number of members (6305) with Field Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL) since 2019 totalling 9 civil servants and 14 people helping themselves. The number of PPLs is not proportional to the number of farmer group members, making supervision of agricultural activities difficult. The presentation of information in the form of Web GIS is expected to be a solution so that assistance, guidance, and counselling carried out by the government through the agriculture office can be right on target. The purpose of this research is to build a Web GIS-based Agricultural Information System in Sungai Kakap District so that it can be used as a model for agricultural monitoring activities in other areas. The engineering method in this research uses Remote Sensing and Waterfall methods. Remote Sensing is a method of building spatial data using aerial photo interpretation techniques, while Waterfall is used to build a web GIS as a place to display spatial data. The result of this research is Software Engineering in the form of a Web GIS-based Agricultural Information System Application. This Web GIS application can then be used as a tool to monitor the agricultural activities of each farmer group member in each farmer group.

Abstract

The Konawe Selatan District region is characterized by Karst hills, various soil types, and steep slopes. Functional classification considers the physical and non-physical characteristics of the location to determine its many uses. The map developed by the Regulation of the Agriculture Minister of Indonesia should be checked with the actual condition for the validation process before presenting to the society and Local government. Therefore, this research aimed to determine the compatibility of the area function map result with the actual conditions in Konawe Selatan District, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The research is a regional survey, collecting data from interviews and observations, and the data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively with percentages. The results show that the compatibility of the Konawe Selatan District area function map is 89.61%, functioning as a guideline in the land use plan. Furthermore, the map could guide potential land-use planning functions such as protected forests, limited production forests, rice fields, and settlements. In conclusion, the map is appropriate for disseminating information and material for land use policies in Konawe Selatan District to stakeholders. Abstract

This study aims to examine the spatial distribution of residential habitability levels in the Dalam Bugis Subdistrict based on the availability of drinking water and wastewater management aspects. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis involved processes of data reduction and presentation. The results indicate that the residential areas within the study region are categorized into two primary groups: habitable (lightly slum) and moderately habitable (moderate slum). The habitable residential area comprises one zone with a total area of 85.02 hectares, accounting for approximately 43% of the subdistrict’s total area, encompassing 2,416 housing units. In contrast, the moderately habitable residential areas are dispersed across four distinct zones, covering a total of 112.98 hectares or 57% of the subdistrict, comprising 1,677 housing units. These findings underscore the critical importance of enhancing access to clean water and improving wastewater management as strategic efforts to elevate residential environmental quality and support the development of adequate housing zones.
