Abstract

This study aims to address the lack of scholarly attention to the dominance of Western colonial knowledge and the strategies for restoring local Islamic epistemic authenticity in Indonesia’s digital public sphere. Specifically, it examines the digital preaching strategies of Gus Baha in his online Al-Hikam studies, focusing on how local religious elites rearticulate vernacular Islamic authority through digital media while maintaining harmony with their followers. The research employs a qualitative approach using digital ethnography and interpretive content analysis of four YouTube channels that regularly disseminate Gus Baha’s Al-Hikam lectures. The findings reveal three central strategies in Gus Baha’s digital da‘wa: re-centering pesantren authority through online kitab kuning recitations, emphasizing sanad (chain of knowledge transmission) as a marker of epistemic authenticity, and adapting Sufi teachings into accessible audiovisual formats without losing their intellectual and spiritual depth. These strategies demonstrate how pesantren-based scholarship, classical Sufi teachings, and Javanese cultural values are revitalized within the contemporary digital ecosystem, providing an alternative to dominant globalized and textualist Islamic discourses. Theoretically, this study contributes to the discourse on digital religion and Islamic authority by showing how vernacular Sufism, mediated through online platforms, enables local scholars to resist Western epistemic dominance. It affirms the continuity of traditional Islamic scholarship while opening possibilities for plural epistemologies in understanding Islam in the digital age.

Abstract

This article examines charismatic authority in pesantren-based da'wah, a dimension of Islamic education leadership that remains underexplored. While Max Weber’s concept of charisma has been widely applied in political and organizational studies, its relevance to Indonesian pesantren leadership is rarely addressed. Taking KH Thoifur Mawardi of Daarut-Tauhid, Purworejo, as a case study, this research analyzes how charisma operates as both personal virtue and institutional capital in sustaining transformative da'wah. A qualitative approach was employed through interviews, participant observation, and documentation, with triangulation ensuring data credibility. The study shows that KH Thoifur’s charisma, rooted in moral integrity, Islamic scholarship, and emotional proximity to the community, enables him to mobilize spiritual awareness, social solidarity, and pesantren-based economic initiatives. Although limited to a single institution, the study critically adapts Weber’s notion of charisma to the pesantren context, offering a contextual framework that links leadership, spirituality, and social change. It concludes that effective da'wah must be participatory, human-centered, and sustainable to address contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study explores the prediction of Bank Central Asia (BBCA) stock prices following the annual dividend distribution using the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method. The primary goal is to provide a robust forecasting tool to aid investors and financial analysts in making informed decisions. The research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, analyzing weekly BBCA stock price data from January 2019 to February 2024. The findings demonstrate that the ARIMA (2, 1, 2) model provides stable and reliable predictions of BBCA stock prices, showing slight weekly variations but overall stability. Practically, these predictive models can be integrated into a web-based platform, allowing real-time stock price forecasting and broader accessibility for users. This study contributes to the financial literature by validating the ARIMA model's applicability in the Indonesian stock market and suggesting the exploration of hybrid models and external economic factors for future research.

Abstract

Abstract All provisions of syara' law must lead to the aspect of mashlahah. There is almost no provision of Allah's law that is "quiet" from maslahah. And it can even be said that mashlahah is the key to being able to understand the intentions and messages of syari' contained in syar'i texts. Therefore, since the beginning of Islamic sharia (the provisions of syara' law) actually did not have any other basis (goal) except for human benefit. A legal provision which denies human benefit, will undoubtedly conflict with universal human values. Because only with this benefit will we be able to prove that Islamic shalihun li kulli Zaman wa eats. The method used in this research is based on literature review. The data collected is based on searching several documents, literature, scientific journals related to the context of this study. The analysis was carried out descriptively. The results of the study found that the essence of mashlalah is; al-muhafadhatu 'ala maqsud al-syar'i "Maintaining syara' goals (in establishing law)". And the purpose of sharia in establishing law is five, namely, maintaining religion, soul, mind, lineage, and wealth. Keywords: Mashlahah, core purpose, formation, Islamic law.

Abstract

The determination of prayer times in high-latitude regions has long faced significant challenges due to the imbalance between day and night durations. The lack of clear guidance in the Qur’an and Hadith regarding this phenomenon has led various scholars and experts to propose their ijtihad. One such figure is Abdurrahman Özlem, a Turkish astronomer. This study aims to explore Özlem’s concept of determining prayer times in abnormal regions and analyze it from an astronomical perspective. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, this research integrates modern astronomical principles within the framework of contemporary Islamic jurisprudence. Data were collected through online interviews and document studies. Özlem proposes a method based on proportional division of day and night durations, using 12:00 noon and 24:00 midnight as reference points. He utilizes solar hour angles adjusted to local time zones (regional time), resulting in prayer time estimations that are both astronomically precise and practically relevant. This study makes a significant contribution to scientific knowledge by demonstrating the integration of modern astronomy into Islamic legal reasoning to address the challenges of worship in extreme regions. While promising as an alternative guide for Muslims in such areas, further studies are needed to assess its applicability across different madhhabs and geographic contexts.
