Abstract

The Innovation Farm at the State Polytechnic of Jember has initiated a citrus-picking tourism program to develop agroedu-tourism based on the Teaching Factory (TeFa) concept. Assistance activities were carried out to help managers understand the concept of educational tourism, manage visitor experiences, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The implementation included planning, operational assistance, SOP formulation, and evaluation. The results showed improvements in managerial capacity, particularly in knowledge, skills, and management aspects. After the assistance, the citrus-picking tourism became more structured, with SOPs being implemented and supporting facilities better prepared. This initiative opens opportunities for managers to develop tourism potential and serves as an initial step toward a more mature and sustainable agroedu-tourism model in the future.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Nawasena merupakan salah satu kelompok masyarakat di Desa Karangpring, Kecamatan Sukorambi, Kabupaten Jember, yang telah aktif mengembangkan berbagai produk olahan mawar. Namun, strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendorong transformasi strategi pemasaran produk olahan mawar KWT Nawasena. Metode kegiatan meliputi pelatihan, pendampingan, dan penyediaan bantuan berupa sarana promosi pemasaran langsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kapasitas anggota KWT Nawasena dalam hal pemasaran digital dan penguatan pemasaran langsung. Hal tersebut terbukti dari tersusunnya draf konten media promosi digital produk olahan mawar. Selain itu, bantuan berupa sarana promosi seperti portable booth, roll up banner, brosur, dan katalog dapat memperkuat strategi pemasaran langsung secara offline yang umumnya dilakukan melalui partisipasi pada bazar UMKM daerah. Perbandingan strategi pemasaran sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan adanya pergeseran yang signifikan dari sistem penjualan konvensional menuju strategi pemasaran hybrid yang mengintegrasikan pemasaran digital dan penguatan pemasaran langsung secara offline. Transformasi ini tidak hanya berpotensi memperluas jangkauan pasar dan memperkuat identitas produk, tetapi juga mendukung pengembangan kawasan kampung mawar Desa Karangpring sebagai salah satu destinasi agroeduwisata yang dapat berkontribusi pada kesejahteraan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat lokal.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) merupakan aspek penting dalam operasional perusahaan logistik. Hal tersebut berkaitan dengan perlindungan terhadap tenaga kerja, operasional, dan keberlangsungan bisnis perusahaan. PT. X merupakan perusahaan logistik di Jakarta dengan aktivitas usaha pada penyediaan layanan angkutan, distribusi barang, dan manajemen pergudangan dalam skala internasional. Operasional PT. X terutama aktivitas bongkar muat, pengangkutan, dan penyimpanan barang rentan terhadap risiko kecelakaan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penerapan manajemen K3 di PT. X. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan dan memahami fenomena secara mendalam. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapang, wawancara, serta studi dokumentasi prosedur dan kebijakan keselamatan yang berlaku di perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PT. X telah menerapkan sistem manajemen K3 sesuai dengan peraturan yang berlaku diantaranya penerapan SOP, penyediaan APD, perawatan pelatan dan pengujian emisi kendaraan, instalasi proteksi kebakaran, penyediaan asuransi, pelaksanaan pelatihan, pemantauan parameter lingkungan, serta pelaporan secara berkala. Hal tersebut menunjukkan ketaatan dan perusahaan terhadap peraturan yang berlaku dan komitmen budaya kerja yang sehat dan aman. Implementasi berbagai upaya yang dilakukan oleh PT. X berkontribusi terhadap rendahnya tingkat kecelakaan kerja di PT. X. Pada tahun 2023 tidak ada kecelakaan kerja di PT. X. Meskipun demikian, perusahaan harus menjaga konsistensi, penguatan budaya kerja, serta keberlanjutan implementasi K3 dalam jangka panjang.

Abstract

The study of consumer preferences is a major consideration in determining production and marketing strategies, including for fresh fruit products. This research aims to examine trends in studies on consumer preferences in the marketing of fresh fruits in Indonesia. The study was conducted using bibliometric analysis of data from studies over the period 2013-2023 from the Google Scholar database. Data collection was carried out using the Publish or Perish application by applying an appropriate keyword strategy as a form of selection. Subsequently, mapping and visualization of the analysis results were performed using the VOSviewer application. The analysis results show that the number of publications on consumer preferences for fresh fruits has significantly increased in the last decade, with the main focus on product attributes such as freshness, price, and taste. Studies on consumer preferences for fresh fruits in Indonesia predominantly focus on understanding consumer preferences, product attributes, and data collection methods. The most frequently appearing keywords reflect a strong interest in consumer preferences for local fruits compared to imported ones. The findings of this study open opportunities for further research, particularly in low-density areas such as specific geographical and demographic focuses and certain types of fruits that show potential for further study.

Abstract

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije), a competency-based higher education institution, has developed a Teaching Factory (TeFa) with various forms and types of products. TeFa Kebun Inovasi consistently produces various food and horticultural crop products, including lemons. The problem is that post-harvest handling of lemons still needs to be improved, impacting product quality. Apart from that, the still low demand for lemons is also a challenge that needs to be resolved. Therefore, efforts are being made to optimize post-harvest lemon handling by implementing Good Handling Practices (GHP). The method for implementing service activities is through direct assistance, evaluation, and feedback from the service team to partners. The results of service activities include (1) mentoring activities were participated in by partners (Innovation Garden management staff) and were carried out well; (2) the success of mentoring activities is measured using six indicators, namely skills in detecting fruit that meets harvest criteria, skills in harvesting according to procedures (SOP), skills in sorting and grading, labeling, and skills in storing and packaging; and (3) the evaluation results show that there is a significant increase in skills in terms of post-harvest handling of lemons at TeFa Kebun Inovasi dan Nursery Kebun Potong before and after the implementation of service activities.

Abstract

Teaching Factory (TeFa) Kebun Innovation is one of the TeFa at Politeknik Negeri Jember which focuses on the production of food crop commodities and horticulture. One of the commodities cultivated at TeFa Kebun Inovasi is orange. There are 7 types of oranges cultivated at TeFa Kebun Inovasi. TeFa has the potential to be developed as an agro-tourism destination with 4,000 m2 of land planted with oranges. Agro-edutourism is a type of tourism that combines agriculture and education as its main objects. However, TeFa does not yet have an agro-educational tourism plan. For this reason, an agro-educational tourism initiative was carried out at TeFa Kebun Inovasi. Initiation activities are carried out through five stages, namely preliminary survey, focus group discussion, identification of tourism potential, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The evaluation results show that the agro-edutourism initiation activities have improved the knowledge, skills, and management ability of the management team in designing agro-edutourism, delivered by the agenda of orange picking tour.

Abstract

Semangka merupakan salah satu komoditas buah unggulan strategis nasional di Indonesia, sehingga pengembangan produksi semangka melalui diversitas varietas baru terus dilakukan. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah mencanangkan program “one variety, one region”, dengan pendaftaran benih varietas baru sebagai salah satu langkah perlindungan hukum yang penting didalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perkembangan varietas benih semangka terdaftar di pusat data  Direktorat Perbenihan Hortikultura, Direktorat Jenderal Hortikultura, Kementerian Pertanian Republik Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan melalui studi literatur untuk varietas terdaftar pada periode 2014 hingga 2024. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan fokus pada perkembangan jumlah varietas benih semangka dalam negeri dan introduksi, tipe produsen, musim tanam, dan wilayah adaptasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendaftaran varietas benih semangka selama periode satu dekade terakhir cukup fluktuatif, tetapi cenderung meningkat pada tiga tahun terakhir (pasca pandemic).   Selain itu, varietas benih semangka dalam negeri lebih banyak dikembangkan dibandingkan dengan semanka introduksi. Produsen pendaftar varietas benih semangka dapat berbentuk PT, CV, maupun perorangan; dengan PT merupakan produsen terbanyak. Varietas Semangka yang terdaftar selama periode 2014 hingga 2024 sebagian besar memiliki musim tanam hujan dan kemarau (43%) dan wilayah adaptasi pada dataran rendah (95%).

Abstract

Agroedutourism has emerged as a sustainable tourism model that integrates recreational activities with agricultural education, offering both experiential learning and economic value. This study analyzes the determinants of agroedutourism development at the orange picking site of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) Kebun Inovasi Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije). The objectives are to identify the potential attractions of orange-based agroedutourism and to evaluate the influence of attraction, accessibility, amenities, and visitor perceptions on destination development. Data were obtained through field observations, interviews with management and academic experts, and surveys of 125 visitors. A descriptive approach was used to assess the site’s potential, while multiple linear regression was applied to examine the effect of the four determinant variables. The results indicate that TeFa Kebun Inovasi has strong agroedutourism potential, supported by commodity diversity, educational value, scenic landscapes, and opportunities for local product development. Regression analysis shows that attraction, accessibility, amenities, and perception collectively have a significant effect on agroedutourism development (F = 213.927; p < 0.05). However, only visitor perception exhibits a significant individual influence (β = 0.873; p < 0.001), suggesting that visitor experience acts as the primary driver of development. Physical factors such as attraction, accessibility, and amenities contribute positively but do not show significant independent effects. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing experiential quality, educational engagement, and service interaction to strengthen visitor perception. Improving facilities, infrastructure, and thematic attractions remains essential to support a comprehensive and competitive agroedutourism model within a vocational education environment.

Abstract

The Sitara Women Farmers Group (KWT Sitara) is an enterprise actively engaged in producing bottled functional beverages. In business activities, branding plays a crucial role in enhancing product competitiveness and market value. However, the branding attributes of KWT Sitara’s functional beverages have not yet fully met the required standards, particularly in terms of information completeness, accuracy of elements, and design aesthetics. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of KWT Sitara members in developing effective product branding. The methods applied included training sessions, focus group discussions, and hands-on practice in product image design. The results indicated an increase in the participants’ knowledge and skills in building functional beverage product branding. Furthermore, the program produced a finalized design of product branding attributes, consisting of the brand name, product logo, tagline, and product label, all of which were adjusted to comply with applicable regulations.
