Abstract

This article examines women's trauma in the novel Perempuan di Titik Zero by Nawal El Saadawi using the Javanese psychological approach Mentaraman. A qualitative and descriptive approach was used to explore the traumatic experience of the main character, Firdaus, and analyze how she tried to face and overcome the suffering she experienced. Mentaraman's Javanese psychology, which emphasizes inner balance, mental peace, and psychological recovery, is the basis for understanding how Firdaus interacts with trauma and the search for identity in the context of Javanese tradition and culture. Through a literature review, this article discusses how Javanese psychology can provide a new perspective in understanding Firdaus' mental and emotional response to the oppression, violence and helplessness he experienced. The results of the analysis show that even though Firdaus is trapped in a state of deep trauma, Javanese psychological values that focus on self-recovery and inner harmony can explain Firdaus' efforts to achieve peace in facing her past. This article provides insight into how women's trauma can be understood through the lens of Javanese psychology and the importance of mental balance in the recovery process.

Abstract

The primary issue in this study is that fifth-grade pupils' learning outcomes in mathematics with reference to cuboid volume are subpar. A one-way learning approach, a dearth of successful learning models to boost student involvement, and low student engagement that makes learning dull and challenging are the culprits. The researcher suggests using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) paradigm as a remedy. Classroom action research, which falls under the qualitative research category, was the methodology employed in this study. Both quantitative and subjective statistics are included in the offered content. The outcomes of student written examinations at the conclusion of each cycle provided quantitative data, while observation sheets of teacher and student behavior during the learning process provided qualitative data. This study was carried out at SDN Kuin Cerucuk 3 Banjarmasin during the even semester of class VB of the 2024–2025 academic year. Following two cycles, the results demonstrated that learning outcomes achieved a score of 100% using the conventional criterion of "All Students Completed," instructor activity achieved a score of 28% with the criterion of "Very Good," and student activity achieved an 89% score with the criterion of "Very Active." These results show how well the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach works to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

Erratic rainfall due to climate change has significant impacts on the environment, agriculture and economy. To mitigate these impacts, a reliable rainfall prediction model is needed. Erratic rainfall due to climate change affects various sectors of life, so a reliable prediction model is needed to support data-based decision making. This study aims to compare the performance of Random Forest, k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN), Decision Tree, and Neural Network algorithms in predicting rainfall using observation data from the Citeko Meteorological Station. The data used include weather parameters such as temperature, humidity, and air pressure. The analysis was carried out using Orange software to evaluate the accuracy, precision, and computation time of each model. The results showed that Random Forest had the highest accuracy, while Neural Network showed consistent performance on more complex datasets. The kNN algorithm gave good results with the optimal number of neighbors, but was less efficient on large datasets. Decision Tree was easier to interpret but was prone to overfitting. This study provides insight into the most appropriate algorithm for rainfall prediction based on the characteristics of the data available.

Abstract

Thermal and surface properties of LiFePO4/very-few-layer graphene (LiFePO4/VFLG) composite manufactured through the sol-gel route have been researched for lithium-ion battery cathode application. VFLG was acquired from a facile, cost-effective, and environmentally benign fluid dynamic shear exfoliation process. The composites were characterized through thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) interlinked with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and Braneur-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis. The TGA-DSC results showed that the integration of VFLG could enhance the thermal stability of the composite by inhibiting oxygen diffusion on the LiFePO4 surface. FESEM-EDX analysis, meanwhile, confirmed the homogeneously distributed VFLG in the composites. TEM results revealed that the average particle sizes of the composites decreased by about 21.2% compared to the bare LiFePO4. TEM and HRTEM results confirmed an intimate contact between VFLG intimately and LiFePO4 particles via plane-to-point contact, contributing to the control and reduction of particle size. Furthermore, physisorption via BET analysis revealed that incorporating VFLG provided a wider distribution of mesopores and increased pore diameter and pore volume by 128.7% and 656.3%, respectively, compared to sole LiFePO4. These significant improvements were related to the flexibility and ability of a thin layer of VFLG to limit the growth of LiFePO4 particles. This approach offers a promising strategy to enhance the thermal stability and surface properties of lithium-ion battery cathodes.

Abstract

Biotechnology is increasingly central to global innovation, with progress depending on effective collaboration between universities, industry, and policy frameworks. This study aims to examine institutional and policy drivers of university–industry collaboration (UIC) in biotechnology and identify models that accelerate commercialization and sustainable growth. Using qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) on four cases—SynbiCITE (UK), Bio Innovation Hub (Australia), Panjab University (India), and Oxford Science Enterprises (UK)—data were drawn from reports, policy documents, and innovation databases (WIPO, OECD, GEM). Results show that hybrid governance, flexible funding, transparent intellectual property (IP) frameworks, and targeted policy incentives shorten commercialization timelines, raise start-up survival above 65%, and boost joint patenting activity. University-linked venture capital provides patient capital and mentorship, while mission-driven R&D policies and balanced IP reforms enhance national alignment and innovation outputs. These findings suggest that integrated governance and policy strategies can foster competitive biotechnology ecosystems, and for emerging economies, adapting such models to local contexts offers pathways to accelerated innovation and long-term societal benefits.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) and its impact on religious values at the Pimpinan Ranting Muhammadiyah (PRM) Yanggong, Jenangan, Ponorogo. The primary focus is identifying the forms of AIK implementation, evaluating its success in shaping the community's religiosity, and identifying the supporting and inhibiting factors of the process. This study is highly significant due to the limited in-depth research on the effectiveness of AIK at the branch level, especially in facing contemporary challenges such as shifts in community mindset and the strong influence of external culture. To achieve these objectives, the research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method at PRM Yanggong. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with key informants (the PRM Chairman, board members, and community leaders), participatory observation of religious and social activities, and the documentation of historical data. All collected data were then analyzed descriptively to gain a comprehensive understanding of AIK implementation. The research findings indicate that AIK implementation at PRM Yanggong is realized through a holistic approach, encompassing formal and non-formal education, dakwah (Islamic propagation), and communal religious practices. This approach has been significantly successful in building religious values, evidenced by enthusiastic participation in worship and the successful purification of aqidah (creed) from takhayul, bid'ah, and khurafat (TBC - superstition, innovation, and myth) in traditions like weddings and funerals. The main supporting factors are strong leadership and active community participation, though shifts in mindset and the penetration of external culture emerged as primary inhibitors.
