Abstract

 Bakau (Rhizopora mucronata) merupakan salah satu jenis mangrove yang terdapat pada kawasan rehabilitasi hutan mangrove Desa Mojo, Kabupaten Pemalang.Jenis mangrove ini ditanam karena bibitnya mudah diperoleh dan disemai sehingga mendominasi pada kawasan tersebut.Untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berkaitan dengan pertumbuhan mangrove, maka telah dilakukanpenelitian tentang hubungan antara kualitas tanahdengan luasan helai daun mangrove.Jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah405helai daun yang dipilih dengan kondisi yang sama dan berasal dari 9 stasiun penelitian. Dalam stasion yangsama dilakukan pula pengambilan sampel tanah sampai kedalaman 50 cm, untuk dianalisis kandungan bahan organik dan sifat fisik-kimia.  Sampel daun yang diperoleh kemudian diproses dalam photo studio mini buatan untuk diambil gambarnya menggunakan kamera digital beresolusi tinggi dalam jarak 30 cm dan dihitung luasannya denganperangkat lunak komputer Corel Draw X7.Analisis data menggunakan PCA dan hasilnya menunjukkan, bahwa dari semua variabel yang diukur dari tanah, maka hanya faktorbahan organik saja yang memiliki korelasi positif tinggi dengan luasan daunR. mucronata.  Mangrove (Rhizopora mucronata) is one of the mangrove species found in the rehabilitation area of mangrove forest of Mojo Village, Pemalang Regency. This type of mangrove is grown because the seeds are easy to obtain and sowing so as to dominate in the area. To know the factors related to the growth of mangroves, so has been conducted research on the relationship between soil quality with the extent of mangrove leaves. The number of samples used is 405 leaf blades selected under the same conditions and derived from 9 research stations. In the same station, soil sampling is done up to 50 cm depth, to analyze organic material content and physical-chemical properties. The leaf samples were then processed in an artificial mini studio photo to be photographed using a high resolution digital camera within 30 cm and calculated the extent of Corel Draw X7 computer software. Analysis of data using PCA and the results show, that of all variables measured from the soil, then only the factor of organic material alone has a high positive correlation with the leaf area of R. mucronata.

Abstract

Coral is an ecosystem in the coastal area which plays an important role in controlling nutrient cycle in the sea. This research aimed to study the the nitrogen concentration in coral and to analyze the influence of nitrogen fixing bacteria on the concentration of nitrogen in coral. The research was carried out by field observation, by taking coral reef samples and analyzed in the laboratory for its nitrogen concentration and number of nitrogen fixing bacteria. Data analysis was carried out by ANOVA and regression. The analysis resulted that there was a significant difference of nitrogen concentration in massive and branching corals. However, there is no significant correlation between the sampling location and types of coral on the density of nitrogen fixing bacteria, both Nitrosomonas sp. and Nitrobacter sp. Regression analysis showed that the concentration of nitrogen in coral tissue was not significantly related to the density of nitrogen fixing bacteria. The result of this research implies that the concentration of nitrogen in the coral tissue may be affected by many other factors.

Abstract

 Tekstur sedimen terdiri atas fraksi pasir (sand), lumpur (silt), dan liat (clay). Sedimen atau substrat dasar yang terus menerus menumpuk serta adanya bawaan nutrien dari mahluk hidup maupun limbah akan membentuk kandungan bahan organik. Kandungan nutrien digunakan oleh makrozoobenthos sebagai salah satu kebutuhan pakan untuk kelangsungan hidup makrozoobenthos. Selain itu, makrozoobenthos ditemukan hidup dalam sedimen. Jenis tekstur sedimen serta kandungan fraksi mempengaruhi kelimpahan makrozoobenthos itu sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis tekstur sedimen, kandungan bahan organik, kelimpahan makrozoobenthos, dan hubungan ketiga variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Jenis tekstur pada setiap stasiun didominasi oleh lempung. Jenis makrozoobenthos yang didapatkan berasal dari famili Ciratulidae, Nephtydae, Nereidae, Tubificidae dan Arcidae. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hubungan antara ketiga variabel yang diamati adalah semakin besar persentase lempung, maka diikuti pula oleh kandungan bahan organik dan melimpahnya makrozoobenthos.  Sediment Texture consists of sand, silt, and clay. Sediment cumullation and transport nutrient from organisms and domestic waste will make organic matter. Nutrient was used by macrozoobenthos as feeding is needed to survive. Moreover, macrozoobenthos was found in sediment itself. Sediment texture and fraction contain were influencing the abundance of macrozoobenthos.This research was aimed to know kinds of sediment texture, organic matter contain, the abundance of macrozoobenthos, the relationship among sediment fractions with organic matter and macrozoobenthos in the estuary of Banjir Kanal Timur Semarang. This research was using descriptive method. Texture sediment in every station was dominated by loam. Kinds of macrozoobenthos was found from Famili Ciratulidae, Nephtydae, Nereidae, Tubificidae, and Arcidae. Based on research, It was concluded that the relationship between three variables was when the percentage of loam was increasing, then organic matter contain was also increasing, and macroozobenthos overflow.

Abstract

Osmoregulasi merupakan aspek yang sangat penting untuk diteliti dalam kegiatan budidaya kepiting bakau yang mana air media hidupnya kerap mengalami perubahan sifat fisika dan kimia. Salinitas memberikan pengaruh terhadap tekanan-tekanan osmotik yang berbeda terhadap tekanan osmotik tubuh organisme perairan, sehingga mengharuskan untuk melakukan proses osmoregulasi untuk menyeimbangkan tekanan osmotiknya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat kerja osmotik (TKO), indeks ponderal, dan kematangan gonad kepiting bakau serta hubungan TKO dengan indeks ponderal dan kematangan gonadnya. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember sampai Maret 2019. Materi utama yang dijadikan objek pengamatan adalah kepiting bakau yang dibudidaya di tambak Desa Pesantren Ulujami Pemalang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan korelasi dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepiting bakau di tambak Desa Pesantren memiliki pola osmoregulasi hiperosmotik sedangkan pola osmoregulasi isoosmotik ditunjukkan pada kepiting yang sedang mengalami moulting. Indeks ponderal kurang dari dua sehingga bertubuh pipih dan belum matang gonad. Adapun tekanan osmotik berpengaruh negatif terhadap indeks ponderal dan kematangan gonad kepiting.

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a (chl-a) concentration in the North Coast of Semarang, Indonesia. The data were collected using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Satellite (Aqua-MODIS) chl-a level-3 standard mapped image for a period of five years (2015–2019). Due to cloud coverage, monthly averaged data were used in this study. The result shows that monthly averaged SST ranged from 28.1°C to 31.3 °C. This SST is relatively higher in the transition season (especially in the first transition season) compared to the east and west monsoons season. Chl-a concentration ranged from 0.002 mg/m3 to 1.388 mg/m3. This concentration fluctuates according to the seasonal winds. The maximum concentration of chl-a occurred in the west monsoon season, while the minimum one happened in the second transition season. Using the Pearson correlation coefficient, the correlation is -0.092, which indicates a weak negative correlation between SST and chl-a concentration. This study is expected to give an insight into the potential fishing ground since the chl-a concentration can be such an indicator for the presence of fish.

Abstract

 Pesisir selatan Jawa, khususnya pantai Pagak, Kabupaten Purworejo merupakan daerah potensial dengan beragam jenis biota yang seringkali dimanfaatkan masyarakat setempat sebagai bahan makanan. Biota tersebut diantaranya adalah yutuk (undur-undur laut) yang bermanfaat secara ekologis maupun ekonomis, namun pemanfaatan belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan dan pola sebaran undur-undur laut sebagai dasar pemilihan daerah penangkapan undur-undur laut dan hubungan salinitas substrat dengan kelimpahan undur-undur laut yang ada di pantai Pagak, Kabupaten Purworejo. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2018. Pengambilan sampel biota dan substrat dilakukan pada tiga stasiun dimana setiap stasiun dilakukan tiga kali pengulangan pada hari yang berbeda. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelimpahan undur-undur laut (hippidae) di pantai Pagak berkisar 2-4 individu/m2 dengan pola sebaran yang mengelompok. Kelimpahan tersebut cenderung lebih tinggi pada salinitas substrat kisaran 33-35 ppt. Salinitas substrat berpengaruh terhadap kelimpahan undur-undur laut (hippidae) di pantai Pagak dan keduanya mempunyai hubungan yang lemah (r = 0,371). Southern coast of Java, especially Pagak beach, Purworejo Regency is a potential area with various types of biota that are often used by local people as food. One of the biota is mole crab that is useful ecologically and economically, while the existing utilization is not yet optimal and sustainable. The purpose of this research is to know the abundance and distribution pattern of mole crab as the basis for the selection of good and sustainable fishing areas of mole crab, and the relationship between substrate salinity and the abundance of mole crab at Pagak beach, Purworejo Regency. The study was conducted in January 2018. Samples collection of biota and substrate were conducted at three stations where each station was carried out with three replication on different days. Purposive sampling technique was used to take the sample. The results showed the abundance of mole crab (hippidae) at Pagak beach ranged from 2 to 4 individuals / m2 with a group pattern of distribution. The abundance tends to be higher in the substrate salinity of 33-35 ppt range. Substrate salinity and abundance of mole crab have weak relationships

Abstract

Seagrass is a wealth of marine resources, one of the ecosystems found in coastal areas, able to produce a variety of secondary metabolites, and one water plant that has important benefits that can replace natural source of antioxidants that seagrass (seagrass). Seagrasses are flowering plants (Angiospermae) who can adjust himself to life in the sea water. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant potential in seagrass leaves. Extraction using maceration with the way the samples were stored by using the solvent n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol for each 1x24 hours after it evaporated with a vacuum rotary evaporimeter to obtain a crude extract, then extract tested by using antioxidant aktvitas diphenilpycrylhydrazil (DPPH). Antioxidant activity test carried out by the ability of the samples used in reducing the stable free radical diphenilpycrylhydrazil (DPPH). Three milliliters diphenilpycrylhydrazil (DPPH) as a positive control was weighed and added to methanol with a ratio of 1:3. An additional 2 mg of DPPH was diluted with 50 mL of methanol and added at each 1 mL to 3 mL of methanol at a concentration of 75 ppm, 125 ppm and 175 ppm. DPPH mixture is homogenized and rested for 30 minutes. Antioxidant activity assay on leaf Seagrass Thalassia hemprichii showed that the IC50 value of 25.98344501. This value indicates that the samples tested were able to inhibit the free radicals are very strong. Abstract

Teluk Awur Beach Jepara is one of the waters in Central Java that has a seagrass ecosystem. Seagrass role is the ability to support the life of another biota closely related to the fertility of the waters indicated by the content of chlorophyll-a, nitrate, and phosphate. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship between chlorophyll-a, nitrate, and phosphate to seagrass land cover as well as the variables which have major contributions. The method of study used is descriptive with four station sampling and  seagrass with a line transect of 50 m, and a 1x1 m² transect Quadrant divided into 16 sub plots measuring 25 x 25 cm² a spatial approach and multiple regression statistics. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between seagrass land cover to the concentration of chlorophyll-a and nitrate but less correlated phosphate. The highest chlorophyll-a concentrations of 0.381 mg/m3, seagrass land cover 40-60%, seagrass density 314 individual/m2, nitrate 1.141 mg/l and phosphate 0.54 mg/l. The lowest chlorophyll-a concentration ranges from 0.32-0.35 mg/m3, seagrass cover of 0-10%, seagrass density 3-12 individual/m2, nitrate 0.96 mg/l and phosphate 0, 21mg/L. This research shows that there is a strong link between seagrass land cover Concentrations of chlorophyll-a, nitrates and less influential to phosphates.

Abstract

Sister Program for “Mina Karya Mandiri” Group to Improve Selling and Promotion Mangrove Processing Product  ABSTRAK   Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat melalui program pendampingan kelompok tani dilaksanakan sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi stagnasi produksi dan penjualan hasil olahan mangrove (bolu dan krupuk mangrove) yang dihasilkan oleh Kelompok Tani “Karya Mina Mandiri” (KMM) dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus-September 2014 di Mangunharjo Semarang. Target luaran (outcome) dalam kegiatan ini adalah pemantapan dan penguatan kerjasama yang selama ini telah terjalin antara tim pengabdian masyarakat dengan kelompok tani KMM sebagai mitra binaan, meningkatkan brand image product, meningkatkan hasil penjualan, meningkatkan minat masyarakat terhadap produk olahan mangrove, serta meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya mangrove. Target kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat sudah terlaksana dengan baik sebesar 90% seperti sosialisasi, penyuluhan, perbaikan kemasan (packaging), pengujian informasi gizi produk dan pemberian bantuan alat kemasan. 10% Target kegiatan berupa promosi serta monitoring program pendampingan yang telah dijalankan, belum dapat dilakukan karena kendala bulan musim panen buah mangrove telah berlalu sehingga kelompok tani “Karya Mina Mandiri” belum dapat memproduksi hasil olahan mangrove dalam volume besar. Hasil pengujian kandungan gizi bolu mangrove sebagai berikut : total antioksidan  129%, kalori 364 Kkal/kg, protein 5,5%, lemak 0,61% dan karbohidrat 78,13% sedangkan pengujian kandungan gizi pada krupuk mangrove adalah sebagai berikut : total antioksidan 1,29%, kalori 240 Kkal/kg, protein 3,89%, lemak 0,3%, karbohidrat 68,29%. Berdasarkan kesimpulan tersebut, maka saran yang bisa disampaikan adalah Kendala musim panen buah mangrove perlu diantisipasi dengan cara mengolah semaksimal mungkin buah mangrove untuk dijadikan tepung pada saat panen dan menyimpannya sebagai stock cadangan pada bulan nonpanen.   Kata kunci : Program Pendampingan, Olahan Mangrove, Kandungan Gizi, Kemasan Produk,  Kelompok Tani “ Karya Mina Mandiri”, Mangunharjo Community Service activities through sister  program implemented as a solution to overcome the stagnation in the production and sale of mangrove processed products (cake and krupuks-snacks mangrove) generated by Farmers Group "Mina Karya Mandiri" (KMM). Target outcomes (outcome) in this activities are the establishment and strengthening of cooperation that has been established between a community service teams with farmer groups KMM as trained partners, improve product brand image, increase sales, increase public interest in the mangrove refined products, as well as raising awareness the importance of mangrove. Target community service activities already performing well by 90% as socialization, counseling, improved packaging (packaging), testing the nutritional information of products and provision of packaging tools. 10% target in the form of promotional activities as well as monitoring of assistance programs that have been run, can not be done because of constraints in mangrove fruit harvest season has passed so that farmers group "Mina Karya Mandiri" have not been able to produce results in large volumes of processed mangrove. The test results  mangrove nutritional content as follows: total antioxidant 129%, 364 calories Kcal/kg, 5,5% protein, fat and carbohydrate 0,61% 78,13% while testing the nutrient content in the mangrove krupuks-snacks are as follows: total antioxidant 1,29%, calories 240 kcal / kg, 3,89% protein, 0,3% fat, carbohydrates 68,29%. Based on these conclusions, the suggestions can be submitted is Constraints mangrove fruit harvest should be anticipated by processing as much as possible to be used as flour mangrove fruit at harvest and store it as a backup in nonharvest stock.
