Abstract

Abstract Perceptions of a lack of Teacher innovation in presenting the content in PLP 2 led some students to feel bored and uninterested in learning, which in turn spurred this research.  Furthermore, several students were uncertain of their own replies to the teacher's questions and opted to check or match the answers provided by their classmates before responding.  As a result, the researcher in Kebomas District set out to determine how students' perceptions of their own mathematical abilities were affected by teachers' levels of creativity in the classroom.  Finding out how teachers' imaginations affect their pupils' confidence in their own mathematical abilities was the overarching goal of this research.  Two hundred forty-six children from Kebomas District's seventh and eighth grade classes participated in the study.  This study is a survey-based correlational analysis.  The study found that students' self-efficacy in math learning is influenced by a total of 91.5% of the variables not included in this study, with 8.5% of that influence coming from teachers' creativity in the areas of classroom atmosphere, asking questions, innovative teaching practices, overcoming obstacles, and teaching style. Abstract

Blotong is sugar factory waste which can be used as organic fertilizer. Research on the effect of sugarcane doses for several types of soil was carried out with the aim of knowing the effect of blotong doses and soil types on the growth of oil palm seedlings in designpre-nursery. The research was conducted at the Stiper Agricultural Institute Research and Experimental Garden located in Maguwoharjo village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, DIY from March to June 2021. The experimental method used was a completely randomized design with two factors. The irst factor was the blotong dosage which consists of five levels, namely 0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 grams / polybag. The second factor was the type of soil which was divided into three levels, namely latosol, regosol and grumusol. The research data were analyzed using analysis of variance at a real level of 5% and if there were significant differences, it was continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test. Observations were made on the parameters of seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh crown weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight,  length of primary root, number of primary root, number of secondary root, number of tertiary root and root volume. The results showed that there was no significantly interaction between blotong and soil type on all observed parameters. The use of blotong at a dose of 300 g significantly increased seedling height and primary root length. The use of latosol soil as a seeding medium significantly increased seedling height and fresh shoot weight, while grumusol soil increased the number of secondary and tertiary roots.

Abstract

Visual representation is crucial for enhancing students' conceptual understanding of fractions and correcting misconceptions. This explanatory-sequential mixed study assessed Indonesian preservice mathematics teachers' perceptions, self-efficacy, and implementation competencies using visual representations in fraction learning and identified gaps among these three aspects. A total of 251 students from three study programs participated in a validated online survey (α = 0.89). Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Seven participants were then purposefully selected for semi-structured interviews; transcripts were analyzed using Braun & Clarke's six-stage thematic analysis with researcher triangulation. The results showed that although prospective teachers had a very high perception of the pedagogical value of visual representations (M = 4.41; SD = 0.153; 78.9% agreed/strongly agreed), their self-efficacy level was only in the moderate category (M = 3.21; SD = 0.617), with only 28.3% showing high efficacy, and 61.3% were in the medium category. Implementation competence was even lower, with only 17% of participants being able to select and explain visual models pedagogically and 27.8% meeting the sufficient criteria in the teaching reasoning test. The combined analysis of quantitative and qualitative data confirmed the existence of a systemic gap between strong conceptual understanding and limited practical skills, which was mainly caused by uncertainty in model selection, minimal misconception-oriented practical experience, and weak pedagogical reflection. Integrating high-fidelity micro-teaching, representational scenario-based simulations, and video reflections is recommended to enhance self-efficacy and implementation competency.Visual representation is crucial for enhancing students' conceptual understanding of fractions and correcting misconceptions. This explanatory-sequential mixed study assessed Indonesian preservice mathematics teachers' perceptions, self-efficacy, and implementation competencies using visual representations in fraction learning and identified gaps among these three aspects. Abstract

Mathematics anxiety is one of the serious emotional aspects that may impair the academic performance and interest in mathematics in students. This paper presents a study of the correlation between mathematics anxiety, mathematics self-efficacy, and mathematics performance among 150 future mathematics teachers in Indonesia, who were identified through purposive sampling of an undergraduate teacher education program. The Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale- Revised (MARS-R), Mathematics Self-Efficacy Scale- Revised (MSES-R), and a self-developed Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) were used to collect data. Pearson correlation and multiple regression were used to address the relationship and the predictive attributes of these variables. Descriptive analysis indicated that participants had moderately high mathematics anxiety (M = 82.4, SD = 15.2), moderately high self-efficacy (M = 72.8, SD = 12.5), and good performance (M = 78.3, SD = 10.7). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a negative correlation between mathematics anxiety and performance (r = -0.62, p < 0.001). In contrast, self-efficacy had a positive correlation with performance (r = 0.6). Regression analysis showed that both anxiety (β = -0.45, p < 0.001) and self-efficacy (β = 0.49, p < 0.001) were significant predictors. The results of the multiple regressions showed that the model was significant, F(2, 147) = 68.24, p < 0.001, and accounted for 55.7% of the variance in performance (R² = 0.557). Anxiety (B =-0.45) and self-efficacy (B =0.49) were both significant predictors of performance (B = -0.45, t = -7.62 p = 0.001) and self-efficacy (B = 0.49, t = 8.15, p = 0.001) turned out to be the stronger predictors. The practical implications of these findings are most significant, as strategies aimed at diminishing mathematics anxiety and enhancing self-efficacy should be the primary focus of mathematics teacher education programs, as these aspects directly relate to the competency and confidence of future teachers in teaching mathematics.   Keywords: mathematics anxiety, self-efficacy, academic performance, future mathematics teachers, mathematical confidence, mathematical teacher education.
