This study aims to determine how the influence of organizational communication in extra and intra-campus on students' public speaking skills . The research was conducted using quantitative research methods . The population used were students of the 2018 Stambuk Communication Science Department as many as 361 people at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) Medan , and using a purposive sampling technique , with the slovin formula with an error rate of 10% and the sample being studied was 79 respondents. through the distribution of questionnaires. The results of this study on the t test stated that organizational communication has a t count> T table (97.34 > 1.99125) with a significance level (0.05), then H0 is Rejected and Ha Accepted, meaning that communication extra and intra-campus organization affect the ability of public speaking students.

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai “Pemanfaatan Koleksi Perpustakaan Setum Polda Sumut Oleh Pegawai Negeri Pada Polri (PNPP) Di Lingkungan Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Utata”. Pokok permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan koleksi oleh pegawai (pemustaka) dan kendala yang dihadapi pegawai serta strategi yang diberikan perpustakaan dalam menghadapi kendala yang terjadi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan metode pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam tehnik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan tehnik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan tehnik analisis data melewati tiga tahap diantaranya reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Terdapat 10 informan dalam penelitian ini, diantaranya 2 orang staff perpustakaan, 5 orang Pegawai Negeri Sipil dan 3 orang Anggota Polri. This research discusses "Utilization of the North Sumatra Police Setum Library Collection by Civil Servants at the National Police (PNPP) within the North Sumatra Regional Police". The main problem in this research is the use of collections by employees (users) and the obstacles faced by employees as well as the strategies provided by the library in dealing with the obstacles that occur. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach method. In data collection techniques, this research uses interview, observation and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques go through three stages, including data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. There were 10 informants in this research, including 2 library staff, 5 civil servants and 3 members of the National Police. The results of this research show that the use of collections available in libraries is used in two ways, namely reading in the library and borrowing library collections for various needs, for example in solving problems faced, as a source of information, research infrastructure and recreation by users, especially civil servants. There are several obstacles that occur in utilizing the library collection, such as time constraints, the library collection is still less varied and requires digital facilities. There are strategies to minimize the obstacles that occur, including obtaining collection loans, recommending titles related to the book you are looking for and recommending visiting public libraries and processing the digitization system Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam pemanfaatan koleksi yang tersedia di perpustakaan dimanfaatkan dengan dua cara yaitu membaca di perpustakaan dan meminjam koleksi perpustakaan dengan berbagai kebutuhan misalnya saja dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi, sebagai sumber informasi, prasarana penelitian dan rekreasi oleh para pemustaka khususnya para Pegawai Negeri Pada Polri (PNPP). Terdapat beberapa kendala yang terjadi dalam pemanfaatan koleksi perpustakaannya seperti kendala yaitu Keterbatasan waktu, perpustaaan yaitu koleksinya masih kurang bervariasi dan memerlukan fasilitas digital. Terdapat strategi untuk meminimalisir kendala yang terjadi diantaranya, memperolehkan peminjaman koleksi, merekomendasikan judul yang berkaitan dengan buku yang cari serta merekomendasikan mengunjungi perpustakaan umum dan memproses sistem digitalisasi.

AbstrakPenelitian ini berfokus kepada habitus orang tua kelas buruh bangunan dalam memberikan pengetahuan pada anak di Desa Tembung Pasar VII Beringin Gang Singkong Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Dalam latar belakang penulisan ini di lihat dari kebiasaan anak buruh bangunan dalam berbicara pada orang tua dan temannya dengan perkataan yang kotor dan kasar serta tidak patuh terhadap aturan yang di berikan orang tua akan membawa anak tersebut tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi calon buruh bangunan selanjutnya. Objek penelitian ini di lakukan di Desa Tembung Pasar VII Beringin Gang Singkong Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Sumber data yang diperoleh dari orang tua yang bekerja sebagai buruh bangunan tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa habitus yang diberikan orang tua kelas buruh bangunan dalam pengasuhan anak menanamkan anak tentang aspek nilai-nilai sosial dalam kehidupan yaitu, nilai perubahan nasib, dan nilai kepatuhan. Nilai-nilai tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor pekerjaan orang tua kelas buruh bangunan.Â Kata Kunci : Habitus Orang Tua, Buruh Bangunan, Nilai-nilai Sosial Kehidupan.Â Â Â Â Â Â

The Al-Mashun Grand Mosque in Medan serves not only as a place of worship for Muslims but also represents a religious symbol and cultural identity for urban communities in Medan. This study aims to examine the role of the mosque in the socio-cultural context, and how its existence reflects the religious values and ethnic Malay identity that are strongly embedded in its architecture and socio-religious practices. Using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques through interviews, field observations, and literature studies, this study found that the Al-Mashun Grand Mosque possesses a strong spiritual and cultural appeal. The mosque's architecture, which combines Middle Eastern, Indian, and European elements, serves as a symbol of Islamic splendor in the midst of a modern city. Its magnificent design and rich ornamental details reflect a valuable cultural heritage and attract visitors from various backgrounds. Furthermore, the mosque serves as a center for religious activities and a religious tourism destination, strengthening Islam's position in urban public spaces. Various social activities, such as religious study groups, Islamic holiday celebrations, and community empowerment programs, are held at the mosque, making it an important hub for social interaction. These findings indicate that the mosque is not only a place of worship but also a symbolic space that strengthens the identity and existence of local culture within the dynamics of urban society. The existence of the Al-Mashun Grand Mosque contributes to the formation of a harmonious and respectful community and serves as an example of how a place of worship can serve as a bridge between tradition and modernity in an urban context. Thus, the mosque serves not only as a spiritual sanctuary but also as a center for strengthening social and cultural values important to the people of Medan.

This research aims to: describe changes in the baralek tradition in the Minangkabau community in Medan Denai District, Medan City, describe the factors causing the change in baralek in the Minangkabau Community in Medan Denai District, Medan City, describe the social actions of the community in implementing the baralek tradition in the Minangkabau community in Medan Denai District Medan City. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The results obtained from this research are that the Minangkabau people in Medan Denai District continue to uphold Minangkabau cultural values, one of which is by continuing to carry out wedding procession procedures in accordance with Minangkabau customs. However, this was not fully carried out so that the baralek tradition underwent changes by adapting or modifying part of the procession in the baralek tradition. Factors causing changes in Minangkabau marriage procedures were; Economic Factors, Time Efficiency, Living Environment, Marriages of Different Tribes. The solidarity of the Minangkabau people remains strong. This can be seen from the contribution of the community working together in organizing a wedding party, such as working together in cooking and enlivening the event.

This study aims to describe the consumer behavior of online shopping students from a gender perspective during the pandemic. This study uses a qualitative approach, which focuses more on the description and description of a phenomenon that occurs. The method of taking research subjects using purposive sampling, while the data collection techniques are interviews and documentation. The results obtained from this study indicate that female and male consumers perceive the convenience and efficiency obtained when shopping through e-commerce which actually encourages them to have consumptive behavior in the midst of a pandemic. Their perspective is through shopping activities in the midst of a pandemic, such as women spending more time doing online shopping activities than men. Women like to open online shopping applications without the purpose of buying but only looking at the various promos and items available in them. In addition to promos, more affordable prices and practicality are one of the reasons women do shopping activities in e-commerce. For the sake of maintaining self appearance and getting pleasure with the types of items that are most often purchased are fashion, skincare and bodycare. It is different from men who think that opening an e-commerce like shopee has a purpose, namely to buy goods that have been planned. Men are also more likely to buy fashion products in the midst of a pandemic. Various models, trends and practicality are one of the reasons men make purchases in e-commerce. Items that are often purchased by women and men, especially students of the Islamic Economics Study Program, UIN North Sumatra, are not items that are actually needed in the midst of a pandemic. Their perspective regarding shopping through e-commerce actually plunges students into consumptive behavior where purchases are made without consideration or irrationality.

Peninggalan sejarah Islam yang berada di kota Tanjungbalai terdiri dari beberapa aspek peninggalan sejarah, antara lain : Masjid, Makam, dan Sekolah. Pendataan peninggalan- peninggalan sejarah Islam di Kota Tanjungbalai merupakan suatu kegiatan yang harus dilakukan oleh penggiat sejarah, penggiat budaya bahkan pemerintah kota Tanjungbalai sehingga terciptanya kesadaran masyarakat kota Tanjungbalai untuk peduli, melindungi, memelihara, bahkan merawat peninggalan-peninggalan sejarah di kota Tanjungbalai. Pendekatan yang digunakan peneliti pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan arkeologis. Arkeologis adalah merupakan cabang ilmu yang mempelajari peninggalan purbakala sebagai peninggalan sejarah. Arkeologi merupakan ilmu bantu sejarah yang mengungkap masa lampau melalui benda-benda material yang berupa artefak dan situs yang digunakan untuk merekonstruksi sejarah umat manusia.Peninggalan sejarah merupakan monumen bersejarah yang menggambarkan kisah, momentum, perjuangan, patriotisme dan kecintaan terhadap bumi pertiwi. Di kota Tanjungbalai sendiri, peninggalan sejarah bercorak Islam menjadi salah satu peninggalan bersejarah yang banyak tersebar karena pada umumnya kota Tanjungbalai merupakan bagian dari kerajaan melayu Asahan. Peninggalan sejarah islam di kota Tanjungbalai : Masjid, Makam dan Madrasah. Melalui paparan di atas penulis menarik beberapa kesimpulan yang menjadi hasil akhir penelitian, di antaranya:Peninggalan sejarah bercorak Islam di Tanjungbalai dalam penelitian ini meliputi beberapa aspek yaitu: Masjid Raya Sultan Ahmad Syah, Komplek makam kuno dan Madrasah Perguruan Gubahan Islam

This article discusses the Magido Bantu tradition practiced by the Mandailing ethnic group in Jorong Tamiang Ampalu, West Pasaman Regency. This tradition has become a custom that is commonly practiced before a horja (wedding ceremony) is held. This study uses the historical method in four writing steps, namely; heuristics, verification or criticism, interpretation, and historiography, with a cultural approach. The Padri war that occurred to the Mandailing land area led to the migration of the Mandailing ethnic group who had embraced Islam to the Minangkabau region. This migration also brings with it customs and traditions that were previously practiced, one of which is the Magido Bantu tradition. This tradition has its own procession and implementation procedures that are different from the traditions commonly practiced by the Mandailing ethnic group in other regions. The implementation of this tradition has so many positive values in it, including: an attitude of help, mutual respect, deliberation, and so on. This tradition is still being maintained until now, if a horja is not held it will feel less than perfect.

This study aims to look at the history, myths, and community perspectives regarding the Fort Putri Hijau site located in Deli Tua, Deli Serdang Regency. Putri Hijau Fort is a natural defense fort that is thought to be a relic of the Aru Kingdom. However, the existence of this site is often associated with history and myths that are still believed by the local community. This research is included in the type of field research using historical research methods. The results of this study indicate that the existence of the Putri Hijau Fort site as a cultural heritage is not widely known by the general public, let alone the surrounding community. People are much more aware that the site is just a place for bathing tours without any historical, mythical, and cultural heritage values in it. In addition, not many people know that the site is a former relic of the Aru Kingdom. Even some people from the age range of around 20-50 years who live around the location of this site, do not know about the existence of the Aru Kingdom. Some of them only know a few myths about the beauty of Putri Hijau and the greatness of Putri Hijau's brother named Mambang Yazid which has been told from generation to generation.
