Abstract

Patient Chief Complaint: A 41-year-old female, came to the Dental Hospital of UNHAS with a chief complaint of difficulty in eating and lack of confidence. Patient Status: Clinical examination shown a complete edentulous in the upper jaw and partial edentulous in the lower jaw. The remaining teeth were 33, 34 and 43. Treatment Plan: Magnetic Attachments were planned on 33 and 43 and metal coping on 34 as retained for mandibular overdenture. Details of Therapy: Pre prosthetic treatment was carried out by root canal treatment on teeth 33, 34 and 43. Primary impression of the maxillary and mandibular arch was made. Magnetic attachments were planned on 33 and 43 and metal coping on 34. The abutment tooth decapitated about the same as the gingival margin. A bevel around the circumference was made. Surface shape of the root tooth was dome-shaped, and the finishing line is shoulderless. Post space impression was made with polyvinyl siloxane. Metal coping for 34 and cast post with keeper magnet for 33 and 43 was fabricated. The metal coping and cast posts metal containing keeper magnet were carefully cemented using glass ionomer cement. Border moulding was done for maxillary and mandibular arch. Occlusal rims were fabricated on final cast. Vertical dimensions and jaw relation was done then face-bow transfer and mounting the rims on the articulator. Try in, then denture was processed and inserted in patient’s mouth. The magnets are placed under the mandibular denture, which is faced the keeper teeth, then polished and checked for comfort, occlusion, and retention. Clinical Significance: Magnetic attachments significantly increase the retention of mandibular overdenture; patient is more satisfied and comfortable. Patient doesn’t experience difficulties in insert and removing the denture because when the denture is slightly shifted, the magnetic attachment returns it to its original position.

Abstract

This study aims to measure community membership in rural institution and analyze its benefits in rural development after Indonesian decentralization. To do so, a case study was conducted in Serang, Kedarpan and Sumilir village of Purbalingga District, Central Java Province. Respondents of this study consist of 232 people, and data are analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Findings of this study present that diverse community groups exist, and most households become active members in one to two rural institutions. Neighbourhood, religious and farmer groups are the most active institutions in term of membership and carrying periodic meeting. Membership in rural institutions improves access to financial, physical and natural capital, but less in improving human capital. While most villagers are member of neighbourhood, farmer and religious groups, the village government does not build intensive interaction with these institutions in meetings to formulate village decision. Thus, the empowerment process is not optimally delivered, and the institutions cannot optimally help their members in addressing their livelihood problems. Some initiatives are performed by the institutions, but without government support, they result only limited benefits for the members. Thus, this study recommends the government to involve more institutions in village decision making, especially by improving the participation of neighbourhood, religious and farmer groups.

Abstract

This research discusses the misalignment between strategic planning and annual planning in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) at the national and regional levels, with a focus on Bekasi District, West Java. This alignment is critical to achieving community welfare. Gaps were found between the performance targets in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and the Government Work Plan (RKP), especially on economic growth, poverty levels, and unemployment. An evaluation of the KPIs in Bekasi District also showed non-optimality, with a number of KPIs not achieved. Qualitative research methods were used to evaluate this. Clear KPI establishment, accurate data collection, regular monitoring, and root cause analysis are important steps in KPI evaluation. The results show that the KPI setting process in Bekasi District still does not fulfill the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Assignable, Realistic, Time Related) criteria thoroughly. There are weaknesses in senior management commitment, an unoptimized performance culture, and a lack of Critical Factor Success (CSF) approach in the formulation of performance indicators. In addition, the process of simulating the achievement of KPIs and midterm evaluation of the RPJMD was not adequately implemented; however, this process was not fully followed at both the national and regional levels. In addition, the process of simulating the achievement of KPIs and the midterm evaluation of the RPJMD were not adequately implemented. However, this process was not fully followed at both the national and regional levels.

Abstract

As educational institutions, libraries must innovate to provide higher-quality services. Libraries are no longer managed in the traditional way and are beginning to use information technology known as library automation. RFID technology devices are used to carry out the automation circulation service. This study was done to measure user satisfaction with the usage of RFID technology in library services as well as the efficiency of library services in assisting existing educational services. This kind of quantitative research employs observational methods, a descriptive study design, and the distribution of research questionnaires to participants. The usage effectiveness value for the research indicated that the combination of the cadet identification card and the library membership card into a single card was deemed to be effective and efficient at 96%, which was a considerable increase. The adoption of RFID technology has increased circulation service standards, is more flexible than traditional modes, and promotes digital-based libraries, with a level of customer satisfaction with the use of RFID technology devices in circulation services of 97.2%. The high value of effectiveness and user happiness with the application of RFID technology in library services are indicators of success.

Abstract

Objective: Overdenture is a denture design that can be made in partial or complete loss of teeth , that has support from teeth and natural tooth roots that are still strong and healthy, and already received adequate endodontic treatment. If the tooth is extracted, the process of alveolar bone resorption will follow and worsen the retention and stability of the denture. One alternative in making complete dentures by retaining the remaining teeth in certain conditions is using an overdenture Methods: A 41 year old female, came to the Dental Hospital of UNHAS with a chief complaint of difficulty in eating and lack of confidence. Clinical examination shown a complete edentulous in the upper jaw and partial edentulous in the lower jaw. The remaining teeth were 33, 34 and 43. Magnetic Attachments were planned on 33 and 43 and metal coping on 34 as retained for mandibular overdenture. Results: Treatment with an overdenture is a good consideration because it is considered to be able to retain teeth in the alveolar process, which will provide better denture support than conventional dentures. Conclusion: Magnetic attachments significantly increase the retention of mandibular overdenture, patient is more satisfied and comfortable. Patient doesn’t experience difficulties in insert and removing the denture because when the denture is slightly shifted, the magnetic attachment returns it to its original position.
