Abstract

The large number of computer users who do not have sufficient knowledge about the initial handling of hardware damage results in many computer users or an institution spending a lot of money just to repair damage that occurs to computer hardware. Therefore, this expert system application was created to assist computer users in making an initial diagnosis of a computer hardware damage experienced along with solutions to overcome the damage. The process of developing this expert system uses the knowledge method with data collection techniques used, namely interviews and observation. While the inference method used in the development of this expert system uses the forward chaining method. The application used in the development of this expert system uses the AppSheet application.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance students' technical skills in database management using XAMPP, an open-source platform that integrates Apache, MySQL, PHP, and phpMyAdmin. The program was implemented through a hands-on training approach based on experiential learning, allowing participants to practice installation, configuration, and database management independently. The results showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of database concepts and their ability to operate XAMPP effectively. Beyond technical competencies, the program also fostered behavioral changes, increased technological awareness, and the emergence of local leaders among the participants. This initiative is expected to contribute to the development of a more adaptive and collaborative learning culture in response to advancements in information technology.

Abstract

Hospitals have the function and purpose of health service facilities which carry out service activities in the form of outpatient services, inpatient services, emergency services, referral services which include medical record services and medical support and are used for education, training and research for health workers. Medical record is written evidence regarding the service process provided to patients by doctors and other health workers, where with this written evidence, the medical record provided can be accounted for, with the aim of supporting orderly administration in efforts to improve medical record health services. The H. Abdul Manap Regional General Hospital, Jambi City, has implemented a medical record information system in its patient data collection service process, but it is still not integrated in terms of patient data collection from registration to medical records. The methodology used in designing this information system uses the UML (Unified Modeling Language) Model. This methodology can be used to analyze and design a medical record information system for the H. Abdul Manap Regional General Hospital, Jambi City, so that the results of this medical record information system can help overcome existing problems and no more recording data repeatedly and when data is needed can be seen immediately

Abstract

Decision Support Systems are interactive information systems that provide information, modeling, and data manipulation. This system is used to assist decision-making in semi-structured s and unstructured situations, where no one knows for sure how the decision should be made. The problem in this study is, determining the location of Internet network installation by BeeBeeNet, carried out based on the company's decision to determine a new location to build an Internet network in a new area, namely by surveying the area, as well as looking at the population density in an area and the current interest of the community. The purpose of making a Decision Support System for determining the location of building an internet network is to determine the right location. The method used in this research is the Profile Matching method, which is a Decision Support system in the location criteria determined by PT Batanghari Vision so that the difference in competence (GAP) can be known. The results obtained are the results of ranking using the profile matching method, using several candidates to get results in determining the new location for building an internet network, from the calculations carried out the highest value is 2.9555, this value is the highest value of the existing location criteria. the results obtained can be the right result for the company to choose the location of the internet network construction in the new location.

Abstract

Waste management is increasingly critical due to the rising waste generated by community activities driven by a consumptive lifestyle. A key solution to this issue is the implementation of waste bank programs, though community participation and operational efficiency remain challenges, as seen with the Bangkitku Waste Bank in Jambi City. This study focuses on designing the user interface for the Bangkitku Waste Bank Information System using the design thinking method and evaluating the usability of the prototype. The design process followed the five stages of design thinking: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test, with data collected through interviews and observations. The analysis involved tools such as empathy maps, user personas, sitemaps, and user flows, with prototypes created using Figma. Usability testing was conducted with 10 participants, including administrators and customers, resulting in high usability scores—98 for administrators and 97 for customers. The majority of participants found the system easy to use, as indicated by responses on the Single Ease Question (SEQ) survey. The prototype met key usability criteria, improving both operational efficiency and community engagement in waste bank management. The findings demonstrate the system's potential to foster sustainable environmental practices and enhance the effectiveness of waste bank management.

Abstract

Currently, there are still quite a number of organizations who consider that remuneration is a cost component that needs to be minimized and a means that can increase unproductive behavior, which can lead to personal problems. To be able to prevent the emergence of problems and the increase in remuneration expenditure of an organization, it is necessary to have a remuneration system that is fair, appropriate, and cost effective. In the process of calculating the Additional Employee Income (TPP) carried out by SMK PP Negeri Jambi, Batanghari Regency, it is still manually with calculations based on absenteeism, performance, and employee discipline, after all data is obtained then input into Microsoft Excel. The purpose of this study is to simplify calculations, minimize time in the process of inputting and calculating, the process of delivering TPP information quickly and accurately. Where the modeling of this system uses a flow diagram of Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and this system design uses web / internet media and produces a web-based information system for additional employee income payments (TPP) at SMP Negeri Jambi Regency. Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi mendorong pelaku usaha untuk mengadopsi sistem terkomputerisasi dalam mendukung kegiatan operasional, termasuk dalam pengelolaan persediaan barang. Kedai Kopi Kind Comfy Pleasure masih menghadapi kendala dalam pengelolaan persediaan barang karena pencatatan dilakukan secara manual, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan kesalahan data, keterlambatan informasi stok, serta kurang efektifnya pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun Sistem Informasi Persediaan Barang Berbasis Web pada Kedai Kopi Kind Comfy Pleasure dengan menggunakan metode System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Metode SDLC digunakan sebagai pendekatan pengembangan sistem yang meliputi tahapan analisis, perancangan, implementasi, dan pengujian sistem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi persediaan barang berbasis web yang dibangun mampu membantu pemilik dan karyawan dalam mengelola data persediaan secara lebih efektif dan efisien. Sistem ini juga dapat menyajikan informasi stok barang secara akurat dan tepat waktu, sehingga mendukung kelancaran operasional serta pengambilan keputusan pada Kedai Kopi Kind Comfy Pleasure.

Abstract

PT Digital Network Antanusa (DNA.Net) Jambi City is an internet service provider network service company in the city of Jambi. DNA.Net operates using cable and wireless network technology (wireless). DNA.Net is not a cellular or satellite service, but something new, much better and much faster to connect to the internet and provide to homes or companies. However, there are still problems with processing, paying and checking internet bills, therefore errors and files are often lost when processing payment transaction data. These include frequent errors in internet registration data information and lost documents, delays in transactions or transactions taking too long, and even making payment reports is still not neat. This method used is the UML (Unified Modeling Language) method which describes the system model including use cases, use case specifications, activities and class diagrams and the designs used by researchers are prototypes. Therefore, the researcher aims to analyze and design an internet service provider payment transaction information system so that a computerized payment system is more flexible and efficient so that problems at PT Digital Network Antanusa can be resolved so that the obstacles currently faced can be resolved and run very well. . The final result of the analysis and design produces a maturity system. This is done to make the system more effective and efficient and of course to make the bill payment process easier

Abstract

This study analyzes the governance performance of information systems at the Career Center of Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi using the COBIT 2019 framework. The primary objective is to evaluate the maturity level of IT governance and provide recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of information systems in supporting the institution’s strategic objectives. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires involving system users and decision-makers within the Career Center. The findings indicate that several areas require greater attention, particularly Managed IT Changes, Managed Risk, and Managed Operations. These domains are considered critical in improving the management and reliability of the existing information systems. The study also identifies several challenges affecting system performance, including limited system integration, insufficient human resources, and the use of outdated technology. Based on these findings, the research recommends strengthening the organizational structure, improving the competence of human resources, and optimizing IT processes in accordance with COBIT 2019 standards. Implementing these improvements is expected to increase IT governance maturity, enhance service quality for students and alumni, and better support the university’s strategic development goals.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi, involving students from the Information Systems study program as the primary participants. The main problems identified among participants included a limited understanding of the structure of scientific articles, inadequate paraphrasing skills, and a lack of competence in using reference management applications. In addition, the utilization of digital technology to support scientific writing was not yet optimal, despite the availability of adequate technological facilities. This activity aimed to improve students’ competencies in writing scientific articles in accordance with journal standards and to enhance their ability to utilize digital technology as a supporting tool for writing and publication. The method applied was a training-based approach combined with intensive mentoring. The training materials covered the structure of scientific articles, proper academic writing techniques, paraphrasing strategies to avoid plagiarism, the use of reference management tools, and the application of digital technology in scientific writing. The contribution of this activity lies in strengthening students’ practical academic skills while fostering a productive and technology-oriented academic culture. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding and skills. The average score increased from 54.25 in the pre-test to 79.63 in the post-test, representing a 46.78 percent improvement. Furthermore, most participants were able to independently produce draft scientific articles with a more systematic structure and effectively use reference management tools. The activity also contributed to increased motivation among students to write and publish scientific work.
