Abstract

The research purposed to determine the feasibility of pocket book as a learning media on the sub-material endocrine system in Senior High School grade XIth. This research used a descriptive method with a survey research form. The research instrument used a validation sheet consisting of 3 aspects including the format, content, and language aspects which were validated by 5 validators. Assessment of the validation sheet used a Likert scale and data analysis is based on Lawshe (1975). Based on the results of the study, it shows that the format aspect gets a CVR value of 1 in the valid category, the content aspect gets a CVR value of 1 in the valid category, and the language aspect gets a CVR value of 1 with the valid category. Overall, the data from the validation results of pocket book media get a Content Validity Index (CVI) value of 1.00 > 0.99 so that the pocket book media is valid and suitable for use as a learning media for the sub-material endocrine system in Senior High School grade XIth

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kadar perekat terhadap sifat papan partikel bambu. Bambu yang digunakan adalah bambu betung (Dendrocalamus asper), sedangkan perekatnya adalah urea formaldehida (UF) cair. Bentuk partikel bambu yang digunakan adalah untai. Papan partikel bambu sekala laboratorium dibuat dengan target kerapatan 0,70 g/cm3 dengan kadar perekat bervariasi yaitu 8, 9, 10, 11 dan 12% dari berat kering partikel bambu.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sifat fisis dan mekanis papan partikel bambu sangat dipengaruhi oleh kadar perekat yang digunakan. Semakin tinggi kadar perekat semakin baik sifat papan partikel bambu yang dihasilkan. Penggunaan kadar perekat minimum 11% dari berat kering partikel bambu menghasilkan papan partikel bambu yang cukup kuat dan stabil serta memenuhi persyaratan Standar Nasional Indonesia.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model in solubility and solubility product concept to enhance giving reason and identifying conclusion skills.  Students who became the subject of this research was  XI grade of Science 1 Batanghari Senior High School in Batanghari Academic Year 2011/2012.  This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was determined based on the average value of n-Gain.  The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of giving reason and identifying conclusion skills were 0,39 and 0,72.  Thus, it can be concluded that the problem solvinglearning model in solubility and solubility product concept effective to enhance giving reason skill in medium category and effective to enhance identifying conclusion skill ept in high category.Keywords: problem solving learning, giving reasons skill, and identifying                    conclusions skill.

Abstract

Rain Water Harvesting is a method of water conservation by flowing rainwater into a single point of basin on the surface of the earth.  This method can be applied to areas that have a supporting topography including the educational environment.  The Lampung University area has several points of basin to hold rainwater, one of them is a water basins in the area of Simple Flats for University of Lampung can be used to do water conservation through the construction of small dam.The methods are used to redesign this small dam conservation are hydrological , small dam conservation construction planning , analysis stability of  planned constructions and the last method is estimating building construction cost.  Small dam conservation planned height of 4 m, with a base elevation at +107,00 m the dam crest elevation +110,00 m, dam crest width 2 m, the slope of 1:1,5.  The inflow debit of 0,987 m³/sec and the outflow debit of 0,586 m³/sec with cycle period 5 years. Spillway which used is free overflow type and basin specific energy building Vlugter type.  Stability small dam conservation at simple rental flats University of Lampung construction stated as safe. Reservoir volume after planned to be 29.160,750 m3, increasing from the previous volume 3.309,741 m3.  Cost estimated of design planning of conservation small dam is Rp. 7.323.901.000,00. Keywords: Small dam, Conservation, University of Lampung.

Abstract

Sunlight data intensity is highly required for Indonesia which is located in the line of the equator. This research builds a real-time sunlight intensity observation system based on the Internet of Things (IoT), in which the data can be easy to access everywhere. This tool is designed using microcontroller NodeMCU and LDR module which has been calibrated by Luxmeter Lx-103. Data is sending using Message Queuing Telemetry Transport protocol Quality of Service 1. The trial was carried out for 12 hours outside. Obtaining research results that linear regression LDR:  y = -2758.289*voltaseADC + 48.981 and = 0.9693, with sunlight intensity maximum that can be counted is 28 VADC, average range light intensity in middle daytime is 4 – 60 VADC. Production data by LDR was proceeded by NodeMCU then showed in LCD with a time delay one second. Data was sent to mqtt server with interval 60 seconds, last steps data stored in database SQLite.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the differences in the integrity character values of students before and after outbound therapy is given, and to know the effect of outbound therapy to improve the integrity character values in students. Research conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Pekanbaru on 20 subjects with a purposive sampling technique. The study design was pre-experimental with one group pre-test post-test. The data collection instruments used are instruments consisting of indicators of integrity character values. The results showed that there were differences in the level of integrity of students before and after being given Outbound therapy with a significance value of 0,00 < α 0.05. The integrity character values of students who were the subject of research 20 students who were previously in the low category after being given outbound therapy were mostly in the moderate category. In addition, based on the Spearman rank test, it is known that there is a significant influence of Outbound therapy on the integrity character value of students, which is 22.5% while 77.5% is influenced by other factors originating from outside and within the student. Abstract

Abstract: The low yield learning mathematics is the basis why the research was conducted. This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve math learning result fourth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Bengkalis. The number of subjects in this research is 34 people. The instrument of collecting data in this research is the observation sheet activities of teachers and students and test questions. The results showed that the application of learning models Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) can increase the activity of teachers and students and students' math learning result. At the first meeting of the first cycle, the activities of teachers rated at 45.83%. At the next meeting, the activities of teachers be 66.67%. At the first meeting of the second cycle, the activities of teachers percentage increased to 83.33%. At the second meeting be 91.67%. At the first meeting of the first cycle, the percentage of student activity amounted to 45.83%. At the next meeting, increased to 66.67%. In the second cycle the first meeting, the percentage of student activity amounted to 79.17%. And the second meeting be 91.67%. Before action is taken, the average value of student learning result at 62.27. In the first cycle, the average student learning result increased to 71.06, an increase of 14.12%. In the second cycle, the average value of student learning result be 78.03, an increase of 25.31%.Keyword: Learning models Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), Math learning result.

Abstract

Flocculation is one of processes to obtain clean water. Starch-graft-polyacrylamide (St-g-PAM) is a copolymer flocculant. This flocculant is synthesized by the “grafting to” method. This study aims to determine the effects of initiator concentration ratio, the terminator concentration and the termination time towards the obtained flocculant performance. Polymerization was carried out in a glass reactor equipped with a stirrer and isothermal conditions. The resulting products were analyzed by FT-IR. The analysis shows the existence bonds of starch and acrylamide. The presence of these groups proves that St-g-PAM was formed. The effect of initiator concentration ratio showed that the performance bioflocculant from mocaf more effective than bioflocculant from modified taro strach, with the higher change value is 76,19 %. Meanwhile, the effect of the terminatorconcentration and the termination timeshowed that the performance bioflocculant from modified taro strach more effective than mocaf, the higher change valuesare 68,57% and 71,76%, respectively.

Abstract

Background: Prostate tuberculosis (PTB) is one of extra pulmonary tuberculosis which potentially has more frequent fatal complications and more severe quality of life deterioration. It is a very rare disease, with prevalence of 2.6% of all urogenital tuberculosis (UGTB). Prostate tuberculosis may be a sexually transmitted disease and leads to sexual dysfunction. Case: Male, 54 years old, with urinary retention, dysuria, flank pain in the last 1-month, recurrent urinary tract infection in the past 1 year and decrease body weight of 8 kg in 1 month. Physical examination demonstrates enlarged prostate. Patient was referred to Wangaya Hospital with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and suspect malignancy. After underwent clinical and supporting examination, patient underwent TURP procedure. Histopathology examination revealed PTB. Patient was then treated with first line anti-tuberculosis drug (ATD). Discussion: Multiple risk factors are involved in TB disease. PTB spread occur through hematogenous, lymphatic, or direct routes. Clinical features and supporting examinations of PTB are non-specific. Diagnosis often made through incidental histology finding post TURP. Standard ATD regiment administered based on World Health Organization (WHO) guideline. Duration can be prolonged due to suboptimal concentration to prostate tissue. Conclusion: Multidisciplinary approach for extra pulmonary TB is needed. Thorough history taking, and high index of suspicion are important aspects. PTB diagnosis should be considered in patients with recurrent lower urinary tract symptoms refractory to standard therapy in TB endemic area.
