Abstract

The objectives of this research are to: (1) elaborate the teacher strategy in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery; (2) analyze the obstacles faced by teacher in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery; (3) elaborate the difficulties faced by students in mastering English Vocabulary. This research is a qualitative research which is a kind of a case study. The subject of the research is the students at the primary level which is amount 13 students. In collecting the data is used observation, interview, and documentation. Validity test uses triangulation technique and resources. Data analysis technique uses 3 stages namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of this research are as follows: (1) teacher’s strategy in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery are by using games and audio-visual learning media; (2) the obstacles faced by teacher in improving students’ English vocabulary mastery are the diversity of the primary students in Pagentan the limitation of English text book in the Pagentan Buddhist Sunday school; (3) the difficulties faced by students in mastering English Vocabulary are lack ability in pronunciation, to write, and to spell.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effectiveness of project-based learning on literacy skills and digital literacy of students in elementary schools. This study used a quantitative approach with the control group research method and the pretest-posttest research design. The students used in this study were grade II elementary school students with a selected population of 5 classes consisting of 120 students, randomly selected to meet the control class consisting of 20 students and 1 experimental class in each class who realized that the ability to understand numerical concepts and arithmetic operational skills in everyday life is not in accordance with numerical literacy indicators. The overall results described in the Manova test (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) show that the project-based learning model has proven effective in increasing students' digital literacy and numerical literacy skills. This can be seen from the results of the experimental class using the Project Based Learning model which is superior to the control class using the traditional learning model. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning model is effectively used to improve the numerical literacy skills and digital literacy of second grade elementary school students. So that through this research students can achieve the expected indicators in the application of numeracy and digital literacy.

Abstract

Faktor yang mempengaruhi bullying adalah pribadi, keluarga teman sebaya, dan sekolah. Penelitian yang dilakukan memiliki tujuan yaitu mengahsilkan instrumen alat ukur faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi bullying dan mengetahui faktor-faktor apa sajakah yang mempengaruhi bullying. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang telah direduks menjadi enam tahapan dari model Borg & Gall 1983. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 111 siswa. Dalam uji validitas Aiken’s instrumen yang dinilai oleh 3 pakar ahli, mengahsilkan 40 butir siswa yang berpotensi melakukan bullying dan 36 butir siswa yang berpotensi terkena bullying dari demensi pribadi, keluarga, teman sebaya, dan sekolah, sehingga mengasilkan nilai rata-rata 0,75% dengan tingkat sedang. Hasil penelitian yaitu nalai KMO siswa yang berpotensi melakukan bullying faktor pribadi sebesar 0,758, faktor keluarga sebesar 0,842, faktor teman sebaya sebesar 0,849, dan faktor sekolah 0,818, untuk siswa yang berpotensi terkena bullying faktor pribadi sebesar 0,818, faktor keluarga sebesar 0,817, faktor teman sebaya sebesar 0,768, dan faktor sekolah sebesar 0,775. Nilai Crobach Alpha dari instrumen siswa yang berpotensi melakukan bullying sebesar 0,890 dan untuk nilai Crobach Alpha dari instrumen siswa yang berpotensi terkena bullying sebesar 0,909. Instrumen deteksi dini faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi bullying layak digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat siswa berpotensi melakukan bullying dan siswa berpotensi terkena bullying pada siswa sekolah dasar kususnya siswa kelas atas.

Abstract

Teachers who still do not have pedagogical competence are not able to create good learning conditions and cannot condition students' learning methods to be effective and successful due to teachers' literacy culture and limited ability to manage learning. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of literacy culture on the pedagogical competence of high school/vocational school level Buddhist teachers in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative research methods. This researcher used a survey approach with a sample of 37 high school/vocational school teachers in various regions in Indonesia via Google form. The results of this research are that literacy culture influences teacher pedagogical competence. This is proven by the regression coefficient value of the literacy culture variable (t calculated) which is 2.835 compared to the t table of 2.059, the significance of the literacy culture variable on the related variable, namely teacher pedagogical competence, is 0.009 or smaller than the error threshold value of 0.05.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh gerakan literasi sekolah terhadap minat membaca cerita jataka di SMA Bhakti Karya Kecamatan Kaloran Kabupaten Temanggung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif jenis asosiatif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa beragama Buddha kelas 10, 11, dan 12 di SMA Bhakti Karya Kecamatan Kaloran Kabupaten Temanggung yang berjumlah 46 siswa. Penelitian yang dilakukan tidak melakukan pengambilan sampel, sehingga keseluruhan subjek penelitian diteliti. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Instrumen penelitian ini sebelum digunakan dilakukan uji coba terlebih dahulu kepada 24 siswa tetapi bukan pada subjek penelitian yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh alat ukur yang valid dan reliabel. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai = 47,409 dengan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 , maka model regresi dapat dipakai untuk memprediksi variabel gerakan literasi sekolah atau dengan kata lain ada pengaruh gerakan literasi sekolah terhadap minat membaca cerita jataka.

Abstract

The important components of the learning process at school include the methods, strategies and learning approaches used by teachers. However, in reality there are several problems to achieve the expected goals.  The problems that arise at SDN Tubokarto are that students feel bored and unfocused during teaching and learning activities, in addition, the learning process in the classroom is only dominant on the teacher. The research was conducted in grade V at SDN 1 Tubokarto and grade V at SDN 3 Tubokarto by examining the peer teaching method which aims to provide changes to teaching and learning activities. With this method, it is also expected to be able to improve student learning outcomes and provide many opportunities for students to participate in teaching and learning activities in the classroom, especially in science subjects. The method used is that this research uses experimental research by applying True experimental design. This research applies the post-test only control design type. The results obtained in this test are the error rate of 0.002, which means that the significance value is less than 0.05, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Which means that learning with the peer teaching method is effectively used in improving learning outcomes in science subjects
